Clean and airy but sparse and needs attention

The best things about this stay was that the direct contact (Terry) is super responsive, the A/C worked (though loud), and being on the 21st floor, the elevators were quite fast (no long waits even with spacing for Covid). The twin beds were clean and comfortable. Very grateful also for the parking space. The apt itself was clean but in desperate need of a repair and some love - the blinds were all stuck and dusty (south exposure so very sunny in your face during sunrise); the floorboards were peeling; the shampoo unit was empty; no kitchen towels; the kitchen faucet was being repaired when we checked in but all he did was glue it to the base so not stable and made the whole apt smell really odorous (like pesticide) for the whole week; the sinks also drained very slowly. Wished they offered beach towels and umbrella chairs.

Not impressed

Not impressed! I booked this trip before Covid. Tried to cancel this trip a couple of weeks later and I was told I would lose my deposit! I tried to cancel a year ahead of time and turnkey would not let me. I was given a credit to use within a year! I thought this was very unfair, considering we were going thru a pandemic.

It for sure worked for what we needed it to and was close to downtown.

The house was comfortable and spacious for all 7 of us. The AC unit kept setting itself to 77-78 degrees which was super warm during the high humidity temperatures. The fridge stopped working at one point for a whole day before we realize it and some our food spoiled and we had to throw it out. My husband tried to call the house manager and left a message of what was happening, but they never called us back. Thankfully, somehow, it started working again. We think the fridge and AC are controlled by an app but it was dumb that they would make the temps higher knowing people were renting. I would have appreciated a phone call back regarding that.

This company is a rip-off

This company is a rip-off. They do not care about you or what happens to you that may impact your ability to utilize any rental Turnkey is offering. I live in New Orleans and was forced to evacuate for Hurricane Ida for two weeks and upon my return on Sept. 12, found my home had been damaged. I am scheduled to go to Napa on 9/24-9/29 and now, being faced with damage assessment, meeting with insurance adjusters, clean-up as well as meeting with contractors to repair my home that trip seemed in need of being rescheduled or canceled. Seems logical all things considered if you live in a rational world (which Turnkey apparently does not). So what do I do? I call Turnkey and outline the issue I am having w/Res # 783658 and what do they say?? You can reschedule!! Oh, but only on days w/in the same month. I guess no one at Turnkey can add or knows how many days are in September. So obviously I cannot reschedule. Mind you this is a trip I ultimately want to take. If my home had not been damaged, off to Napa I would've been. Turnkey doesn't want to hear that, you are supposed to be able to predict the weather in their world (see my most generous second option). My second option was I can, of course, cancel... oh but I will lose all of my money, additionally I was stupid for not getting trip insurance which they advertise as "for any reason" and/or I should have cancelled 31 days or maybe it was 30 days prior to my trip (see above re: Turnkey expects its customers to be able to predict the weather). However, when you actually speak with their carrier, which I did prior to booking, the insurance, as it was described to me, was only "for any reason involving the property you are renting", so if you are actually physically able to get to the rental then you are not covered. So if you get cancer, are hit by a hurricane, etc., you are still out of luck. Too bad so sad for choosing Turnkey but have a nice day! Additionally, you will never receive any requested call back from any supervisor, the customer service reps will lie to you and trying to actually contact anyone who is in a position of authority at Turnkey is useless as any email I could find was no longer in use. I guess they all got tired of reading the never-ending complaints... Never use this company. They will do anything to rip you off and care nothing for you if it may effect their bottom line no matter what is happening in their customers lives. They will not offer you any help or reasonable accommodation and do not care. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY YOU WILL BE SORRY YOU DID. I KNOW I AM. I WONT MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN. Of course, if Turnkey gets this message and actually makes me whole, which I doubt, then I will gladly repost an updated response/review. I wont be holding my breath on that score...but hey all things are possible!!

If I could put no stars I…

If I could put no stars I would......the owner we dealt with told us we would get our prepaid 10i% back if we changed our mind by certain date...Now they have kept the 10% that we paid. This is unacceptable and I would not recommend this site to anyone for this reason. Nothing I can do about it, but I need to make a statement...$600.00 was taken ..away by poor communications or downright lying. They definitely did not tell us.....so quit posting that they did.....My lawyers will find out the truth even If I spend 10 times what I lost. Denzil D Burriss.

This gorgeous farmhouse

This gorgeous farmhouse, on the banks of the Kennebec River, was a dream come true!!! I had the most comfortable and comforting stay while I bounce in my housing shuffle. So, not even an active vacationer, I was compelled to use the amazing hammock to swing and forget my troubles by the river. The history of loving family interactions makes this the best spot for big groups as well as just me! Consider yourself lucky to get a chance to rent here!!! This place is truly a blessing to all!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY CANCELLED MY RESERVATION AT THE LAST MINUTE CITING "THE OWNER HAD REMOVED THEIR HOME FROM THEIR PROGRAM".

Turnkey sucks

We rented a condo in Wilmington NC from turnkey. We will NEVER rent from turnkey again. The washing machine leaked a lot when we were there. I called turnkey and was told someone would call me regarding the problem. We checked out the following morning and never received a response from Turnkey. There is no written material in the condo, no instructions for anything in the rental. No instructions for the combo washer/dryer. The response I received from turnkey is full of lies. We've rented many times and I don't like being promised something with no follow up.

Horrible Customer Service

The worst company with horrible customer service. 0/10 would recommend. They would not help us or issue a refund when the house we had rented was under mandatory evacuation orders due to a major fire. If we cannot access or go to the house because it is unsafe, they do not care. They just told me "That's too bad". Never again.

Good

The units are nice, honestly thought they were side by side though. But they are a little bit down the hall from each other. I would say the only concern I had was they should be deep cleaned soon, just like the walls and baseboards are quite dusty. But besides that the units are good.

Poor experience

House was nice but lacked essential amenities. There was plenty of towels and sheets, but they only provided one replacement toilet paper roll, which was insufficient, so we had to go out in the middle of the night and buy more. Although there was plenty of utensils, plates, and cups, the cooking equipment were old and poor quality. Also the propane ran out after the second day of use, so we couldn't finish our cooking on the grill. The air conditioning system didn't work very well. We kept the temperature at 72, but air circulation was very poor, leading to very cold temperatures in the master bedroom, while the living room area remained warm. Laundry room was locked and inaccessible despite the description of the house stating instruction of use. Also the floors were pretty dirty. Lastly TurnKey has been a very difficult rental company to work with, and they care more about their own profits than offering their guests an enjoyable experience. Also the customer service has been very lacking. I will never use a rental home managed by TurnKey again.

Bait and Switch

This company is a scam! Tried to bait and switch us with a more expensive rental after we were paid in full with less than 7 days to our arrival date. Customer service was rude and less than helpful.

Interesting

Interesting. TurnKey in Austin, TX was fine except for "canned" replies for responses. The Home Care Team was terrible as was Alex, the manager. A number of issues as follows: Used sponges under the sink Door code required assistance due to dead battery Blinds in master broken..repaired Construction noise everywhere in Beaver Creek *****Entry was made "twice" without notice of knocking! The property manager came in through the garage unannounced as did a construction worker that was allowed by Home Care manager. Did not knock, nothing! Just standing in the entry way and the construction worker left the lights on as we were not there when he entered. Rude Home care manager Rental unit looked as if furnished at a "garage sale" most closets were locked off. No use of garage, although a neighbor had us move our car so he could get his car out of garage. Contract for pool with Highlands Lodge expired 2 years ago...resolved by Austin team No, or limited drinking glasses available. Dish towels were rags. Smoke detector set off from next door construction..local team could care less. Considerably overprice, did receive $1000 refund. Have stayed in Vail valley for 50 years, and this is the worse. Use Mountain East West or Berkshire Hathaway. TurnKey in Austin OK, but Home care team in Vail was arrogant and awful.

Don’t trust the booking

Turnkey cancelled my reservation 1 month before our trip (a bachelorette party) without explanation. They offered a generous 10% off to rebook with them (comical) but there was no effort to try and find a replacement or explain the reasoning for cancelling. When I called, all they said was it was “unavailable now”. I was told I’d get a full refund, I received my refund from VRBO and have yet to receive it from turnkey, 4 weeks later. After I didn’t initially receive it, they said my card had expired (false) so they’d need to send me a check, then when I called to re-provide them with my card info again, they said I’d be receiving the refund soon. It’s been weeks and still no refund. Seems like a scam to me.
