This company is a rip-off. They do not care about you or what happens to you that may impact your ability to utilize any rental Turnkey is offering. I live in New Orleans and was forced to evacuate for Hurricane Ida for two weeks and upon my return on Sept. 12, found my home had been damaged. I am scheduled to go to Napa on 9/24-9/29 and now, being faced with damage assessment, meeting with insurance adjusters, clean-up as well as meeting with contractors to repair my home that trip seemed in need of being rescheduled or canceled. Seems logical all things considered if you live in a rational world (which Turnkey apparently does not).
So what do I do? I call Turnkey and outline the issue I am having w/Res # 783658 and what do they say?? You can reschedule!! Oh, but only on days w/in the same month. I guess no one at Turnkey can add or knows how many days are in September. So obviously I cannot reschedule. Mind you this is a trip I ultimately want to take. If my home had not been damaged, off to Napa I would've been. Turnkey doesn't want to hear that, you are supposed to be able to predict the weather in their world (see my most generous second option).
My second option was I can, of course, cancel... oh but I will lose all of my money, additionally I was stupid for not getting trip insurance which they advertise as "for any reason" and/or I should have cancelled 31 days or maybe it was 30 days prior to my trip (see above re: Turnkey expects its customers to be able to predict the weather). However, when you actually speak with their carrier, which I did prior to booking, the insurance, as it was described to me, was only "for any reason involving the property you are renting", so if you are actually physically able to get to the rental then you are not covered. So if you get cancer, are hit by a hurricane, etc., you are still out of luck. Too bad so sad for choosing Turnkey but have a nice day!
Additionally, you will never receive any requested call back from any supervisor, the customer service reps will lie to you and trying to actually contact anyone who is in a position of authority at Turnkey is useless as any email I could find was no longer in use. I guess they all got tired of reading the never-ending complaints...
Never use this company. They will do anything to rip you off and care nothing for you if it may effect their bottom line no matter what is happening in their customers lives. They will not offer you any help or reasonable accommodation and do not care. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY YOU WILL BE SORRY YOU DID. I KNOW I AM. I WONT MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN.
Of course, if Turnkey gets this message and actually makes me whole, which I doubt, then I will gladly repost an updated response/review. I wont be holding my breath on that score...but hey all things are possible!!
