Worse management company ever

Worse management company ever. If you care about your property and want peace of mind look for another company. This company will make you some money but your property will suffer. They have inability to communicate with each other, the guest and the owner. They do not follow through with repairs needed and charge you repeatedly for service that should have been completed the first time. I ended up having to travel from Wilmington NC to Myrtle Beach SC several times to meet a repair person to make sure repairs were completed. They lost linens/bedspreads and twice did not have unit cleaned prior to guest check in. When I checked on the condition of the unit, I found the floors sticky and gritty. I only used this company for 10 months and it was 10 months of hell. Save yourself some heartburn and find a different company to manage your investment.

We were disappointed in our Turnkey…

We were disappointed in our Turnkey experience with this property. There were no WiFi instructions available so we had to call to get them, Turnkey was unwilling to provide a high chair and crib, which they had accommodated at other properties when we stayed before, one of the guests was injured by a piece of badly maintained sports equipment, and although the property advertises the multi-sport court, there was no pickle ball and the basketballs were deflated. We also had a non-functioning ceiling fan and a blind covering a window broke. This was not consistent with the quality or customer service we experienced at other Turnkey properties.

I don’t like to be rude but I have to…

I don’t like to be rude but I have to leave this review. I had a horrible experience at turn key rentals. The hot tub was crap, it didn’t heat up and the management didn’t come till the next morning to fix it. They climbed over the fence, violated our privacy and “fixed” the hot tub. That night it wasn’t hot. We also got towed. They gave horrible parking instructions and didn’t tell us the exact location we needed to park. There were no signs telling us we couldn’t park and ended up getting towed. Park city tow told us that turn key rentals is supposed to give us at least 2 parking passes. We did not receive any. They won’t give us our money back and I think that’s unfair. We talked to management trying to be kind but all they were was disrespectful. Please save yourself the trouble and don’t book with turn key rentals.

If Turnkey looks back to their August…

If Turnkey looks back to their August reply to me about no refund, they said they would look into my issue of no refund. Over 2 months later, nothing. Do not believe them about their refund policy! TV for VRBO who passed the reservation on to Turnkey says refund if vacation must be cancelled. The paper work we got from Turnkey said that we would get a 90% refund minus the service fee (VRBO fee). We received nothing, and the property we booked appears to be rented for the period we had booked. Double dipping, and I bet the property owner didn’t benefit from it. STAY AWAY if you have any doubts about cancelling.

We had a rocky start to our 2 week…

We had a rocky start to our 2 week rental. The pool was slimy and dirty and there was an annoying beep coming from somewhere in the house. We found a unplugged CO2 sensor. We assume it was unplugged because the battery was dying. I don't know how the cleaning people didn't hear and correct it. We called the help number and they were very responsive. They advised us to take the battery out and that someone locally would be in contact the next day. The next day the pool cleaners were out and did a great job. However the CO2 alarm fix caused us quite a stir. Someone did come out but did not knock or ring the doorbell. He just walked right in. I had just shortly before gotten out of the shower. He spoke broken English so it took us a few minutes to figure out if this was a home invasion or what. Once we had that resolved the remainder of our time there was wonderful. The hosts thought of everything in terms of kitchen and entertainment needs. The decor was beautiful. My favorite part of the whole time there was the Master Shower. Oh my--- it was WONDERFUL! The neighborhood was very nice and peaceful. It was hard to leave.

Unsafe conditions with remote property managers

I would advise anyone considering this rental this home to walk away, no run away. It is anything but TurnKey (Turnkey: built, supplied, or installed complete and ready to operate) but this house felt unsafe due to the electrical and gas fireplace related problems. I am a frontline nurse at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and I was looking forward to a relaxing vacation with my friends free of concerns and problems. From the moment we arrived at 4pm on a Friday evening we had difficulty. The access entry code did not work delaying our entry by 30 minutes. On entry we turned on the living room fireplace and then attempted turning on the lighting in the living room. Each of tried all the apparent switches and none worked. Turnkey management person, Travis, attempted to find the switch by looking at the online pictures and no switch was ever found. Just of note we were there for a knitting retreat and needed great light, which this house appeared to have from its online pictures and tour. There are no floor or table lamps anywhere in this house. While looking for the lights we discovered the living room fireplace was over heating the living room space to 80 degrees and would not turn off. We could not locate a gas shut off valve. The decorative brick was getting very hot and the temp kept going up. Ultimately the only way to turn it off was to go to the circuit box and turn it off, which also turned off the Wi-Fi and hot water. Again, Travis was notified and he let us know there was nothing that could be done Friday night. At that point, not including texts we had spent well over an hour on the phone. The calls and text began again on Saturday morning with attempts to resolve the fireplace safety problems and lighting problems continued. Eventually (2pm Saturday) the person who regularly cleans delivered very nice floor lamps. Tatiana was professional and very helpful. She also tried to fix the electrical problems and gas fireplace problems with no result. Kendra at TurnKey joined the text conversation and just kept suggesting the same things that had already been tried even suggesting fixes that felt like we should do fireplace maintenance. Ultimately at 8 pm Saturday night Travis suggested that if we vacated we could get our money returned for Saturday night stay. We were on vacation and had no were to go, we turned off the circuit again and left all the windows open. No one, other than the cleaning person ever came to the house to investigate our concerns. This is a long-distance hand, off approach to property management that feels very unsafe. I invite upper management from Marriott to reach out to me and my fellow travelers.

We enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed our stay. Beds were comfortable, well stocked kitchen, very clean and excellent location. Enjoyed the patio overlooking the water and the enclosed balcony. Would definitely come back and stay.

10/10 perfect beach vacation

From the moment we stepped into the house we knew we found the perfect spot for our family to enjoy a long weekend in the sun. The home and resort amenities did not disappoint. 3 houses down from the fantastic pool with tasty Paloma’s and a quick drive in our rented beach cart to the beach and we were set up. The home was perfect for afternoon naps and late nights around the big dinner table. There is a grassy shared front yard complete with fire pit (Palmilla had s’mores set up on Friday night, perfect for the little ones). The golf course was 9 holes of pure fun. Short course perfectly maintained with fantastic water views for a few holes, it was a total delight. Best family vacation we’ve had in some time and we are already planning our next trip to stay at this exact place. 10/10!

Nice place on the 7th green

Comfortable condo in a nice, quiet location on the 7th green of the golf course. There were a few minor maintenance issues; not enough to adversely impact our stay. A handwritten note was left for the housekeeper regarding these issues (broken toilet paper holder in master bathroom, inoperable window curtains in the guest bedroom, BBQ needs a bit of attention). The laundry soap container was empty, but there was a ziploc bag containing several small plastic looking pouches. Hopefully these were there to be used for the laundry we did on our last morning. The Turnkey folks seem very well-organized and informative. The front door lock combination is very long. Somewhere I observed a way to enter a 4 digit code of your own choice. Unfortunately I couldn’t locate these directions during our stay, so we had to always make sure that one of us had the combination on their person. Would suggest making the directions for the conversion to a personalized code more visible in the written instructions.

Family Getaway

The property was great and really well equipped. We had a larger family event in San Jose and then we took some time for our family at the beach and this property was perfectly located for that. We went up the board walk in Santa Cruz and also drove down to see the aquarium in Monterey Bay. At night we walked the beach and ate at the Cafe Rio, delicious and super friendly. Aptos is a small town with great amenities. We had an issue with the front door lock not unlocking and the property management team was VERY quick to respond and get someone out to assist. Kind of impressive actually how attentive they were. Great Stay!!

Great House but personal and kitchen supplies were lacking...

The rental home was very clean. I would rate the home and it's decor higher than three but it wasn't well stocked. There were no coffee filters (had to go out the night we got there to buy some so we could have a cup of coffee in the morning). We texted the agency and they said they would be following up but never did. A small cheap roll of aluminum foil would be great and decent (not even nice, just decent) quality toilet paper and paper towels would make a big impact. Edited to address response from manager: please offer one coffee filter(at the least) do that when folks arrive at the top of a mountain at night in the dark, they cfont have to leave so they can enjoy their “starter cup” of coffee. Also, when you text you will be calling to address by noon the next day and never respond at all, that’s bad. Your response makes me less likely to rent through you again!

Great local management

Great local management. Communication from local manager is frequent. The national management is good. The phone is always answered, and issues fixed promptly. Their “dynamic pricing” makes for short stays. I want weekly stays during the high season, and shorter during off peak, and now I have more rentals than I did with 2 other management companies. I recommend Turnkey.

Shady, deceitful business

I booked a very expensive vacation through Marriott Homes and Villas, and they subcontract with TurnKey Vacation Rentals. The listing had a set price for a pet fee. After calling Turnkey to add my pet the reservation, I found out that they add a >25% fee ON TOP OF the listed pet fee. Why? No idea. Can you push back on it? Absolutely not. This is false advertising and shady as ever. What a disgusting company. How you do anything is how you do everything. This is very telling of your overall business practices. Shameful. And they just responded that they don’t charge extra fees. Wow. I took a snapshot of that. Is anyone a lawyer looking for a case? I’ll send you my receipt that shows the $100 pet fee listing price and my receipt for $126 from Turnkey. So much for “we don’t charge extra fees.” Blatant liars and easily proven.

PLEASE STAY FAR, FAR AWAY

PLEASE STAY FAR, FAR, FAR AWAY FROM TURNKEY RENTALS!!!!!!!!!! If you want to save your vacation and money, STAY AWAY! Renting a vacation home via VRBO from TURNKEY WAS THE WORST DECISION MY FAMILY COULD’VE MADE. I never Leave reviews.. but I am Writing this as I sit In a car on what is supposed to be my son’s 5th birthday celebration waiting on turnkey to refund my money. We rented this property in March of 2021. We paid in full on the due date and on yesterday 11/4 (my son’s birthday) we packed up our family to drive out of state with two toddlers in the car. Check in was at 4pm. We stayed at the park for hours and by the time we left, of course the kids were exhausted. My family traveled and went straight to the park and waited for check in. When we arrived at 6:45.. upon entry, there was NO ELECTRICITY. I called Turnkey.. to say they were perplexed is an understatement. They had NO IDEA what was going on with the unit. Might I add, it was pitch black, papers were on the floor and it appeared as if it had not been touched in days. They told me they would call me back in ten minutes and that was at least 3 times before someone offered a poor excuse of a resolution. She called me back and told me to flip every switch in the breaker box in order to see if that worked. I expressed how uncomfortable I was With this situation but my babies were slumped in my car and needed to rest. So I did That and STILL THE POWER DID NOT COME ON. I ended up tracking down a maintenance man on site after 3 hours of waiting with my kids sleeping in the car. He told me this was not the first time this has happened. Apparently the real owner of the unit has a power switch he uses and did not turn it on. Turnkey could not track him down. The resort was nice enough to reduce as much as they could and give us a night of stay. Turnkey was apparently still waiting on a “handyman” to be tracked down while my kids suffered in the car. All they could offer was $15 per person for dinner. When I asked for my refund, nothing was done. I kept being passed around from person to person and being told that I would receive a call back. Once I got My kids into the new location and in bed, Turnkey texted and asked if the handyman arrived. They were extremely dismissive in their tone over the phone and did not care about the state of our emergency. Now it is day two.. check out was at 11am and Turnkey has not refunded my money and does not care that we have no place to lodge tonight. We may have to leave to go home and not utilize our park tickets. I’m devastated and completely disgusted with the way my family was treated.

Disaster averted!

I accidentally locked myself out of the rental with my phone inside (with the door code on it!). After calling my husband, I was able to call from a convenience store and TurnKey gave me the code. Disaster averted! The whole process of the rental was easy and the property was just as advertised.
