I am just going to leave my last correspondence with SO Energy here. I suspect it is the only way to get a real person to acknowledge and resolve this situation. Dear Patty This is now turning into something worthy of Kafka. This query is certainly not resolved! 1) Have you tried transferring my electricity from Octopus Energy since I informed you that the previous block placed on my account was no longer in place? 2) You endlessly repeat the possible reasons why I would have been blocked from transferring to another energy supplier, but paid no heed to my responses. 3) In my last email, I asked whether I was free to leave So Energy. Obviously, I can leave but have absolutely no intention of paying any penalty charges. I need a real human person to look at my ongoing correspondence and understand that your AI bots are gaslighting customers. If this wasn’t so tragic, it would be funny! I am going to copy this letter to Trust Pilot and am writing to Martin Lewis' Money Box. Lesley Davis
Competitive pricing, accurate billing, easy to understand statements and renewable sources. I have had absolutely no problems with So Energy. They allow me to choose the right tariff plan for me. I would recommend to anyone looking for a reliable supplier. Just can't find any faults with their service.
Avoid this company. I moved into a new apartment and switched to an another provider after 3 days. I received a bill in the post from so energy (who were supplying the flat in those first 3 days), and received a bill for £30 for 3 days worth of gas and electricity usage, based on 'estimates'. During this time, the only electricity that was used was to switch a few lights on at night, and to charge my phone. The rest of my stuff hadn't even arrived. We didn't even have a fridge! The only gas that was used was for hot water for a few showers. Anyway, it's forgivable that their estimate would be wrong. I would fix the solution by simply providing them with new readings. And so began the lengthy process of trying to provide them meter readings. I could not set up an account because by switching provider, I had effectively closed the account, with no way of logging in. Their phone system is awful. I call the phone number on an email that I received, and they said I need to contact another department and that they couldn't transfer me. I call the other department and have to go through a verification process, even though I don't have an active account, so it kept bouncing me. I won't bother writing the rest as it's not worth the energy, other than to tell you that their phone system and customer service is abysmal and you should simply avoid them like the plague.

Haven't been that great. During the COVID 19, you said you applied for help on my behalf to the government but that wasn't the case. Instead, you saved debt for me.
I have been using So Energy for about 4 years now, never any trouble, they keep you updated with your account & let you know when your tariff is up & give you new tariffs to choose. Their website is really easy to understand.
No problems with them and just done my renewal and they got a new winter and summer payment options which i havent seen before

I made an enquiry about refund. Call line advised to use an callback option - and yes ! I was called back within the hour. The caller was really helpful in advising how to present evidence (photos) for readings and advised they would start a refund claim aa soon as the info was received. And yes, a week later an email comm told me I would be getting a refund in a few days. Really happy with the easy interaction.
After waiting 30 minutes on the phone, then pressing 1 for a call back which never happened I went on line and it took maybe 5 seconds. So 5 stars for on line and no stars for trying to do it on the phone..
Since joining So Energy we haven't encountered any problems and when contacting customer service So Energy agents are always friendly and helpful. Energy prices are competitive. Many thanks
