Been with So Energy for a couple of years and just renewed for two more years. Never had any issues. Been on comparison and individual energy supplier sites and haven’t found any cheaper for my usage.

Really friendly customer service, responsive, made things really simple to understand and prices were competitive for me.

I’ve been with So Energy since 2019, however we sold our property over 2 months ago and wanted to take them with us. And, we thought at the time, we’d helpfully pass them onto our buyers. What a big mistake! We have been missold and misled by phonecalls and email regarding their ‘refer a friend’ policy. Depite significant time on our side (as they did not always give the response back as promised) and instead gave us radio silence, we have encountered repeated stress, incorrect information leading to false promises and have spent much time trying to resolve the matter. I eventually got my query forwarded to another department, due to my insistence after 2 months of trying. However, the complaints department manner and blatant disregard with their inaccurate information and then written inaccuracies in a deadlock letter, plus a lack of response from a Senior representative, have made us determined to go to the ombudsman. Shame on you So Energy for not valuing your customers when it comes to your service recovery. And once again the reply contradicts what advisors informed us of a number of times. Please take full responsibility and train your advisors to know the scheme, even perhaps send them the link - so they do not miss-sell and misadvise.

It was just made simple and quick. So many websites take you through to many pages and questions.
Let's face it, all energy suppliers buy from the same wholesale market, so there's not a huge amount of difference in cost (except the really greedy ones). So the difference really comes down to service. I have had little interaction with them, so can't say what they'd be like in a crisis but there have been no issues thus far.
I believe that so energy provide a really helpful interactive service that I’ve not experienced with other utilities providers, such as; reducing monthly payments quickly when the usage trajectory clearly indicates that I will be paying too much and the on line account is easy to navigate. Also, despite Martin Lewis’ ‘best deals’ advice, so energy prices are sufficiently competitive.
It was excelllent customer service once I got through to a person but the wait time is ridiculous. So Energy used to be more customer focused when we first joined them and it was one of the selling points that the phone was answered quickly without the need for the Chat line which, quite frankly, I found to be far from helpful on this occasion.
My experience with the call advisor was great, she was very helpful and understanding of my current financial circumstances and put my account on hold for a couple of months until I get back on my feet. This was such a huge relief. I felt very supported by So Energy. Thank you.
Read their Google reviews because their Trustpilot is very heavily curated to make them look good. So much so, that they went to Trustpliot and LIED to them, saying that my reviews should be removed because my experience wasn’t genuine. Fortunately, Trustpilot checked the veracity of my experience and I was able to PROVE my experience is genuine and my reviews were reinstated. So Energy get you into as much debt as possible (even though this is a violation of Ofgem rules) to prevent you from changing supplier at the end of your contract. The fact that they LIED to Trustpliot should tell you exactly how shady they are. Go with Octopus instead. DO NOT TOUCH THEM.
The background noise from the office the young lady was speaking from was very loud so my mother in law that is hard of hearing couldn’t hear her properly so I had to speak to her on her behalf. Also it was hard for me to hear her at times. Sorted the fixed tariff quickly which was good.
Kerry sorted out the renewal as I required taking into account the existing credit on my account that could not be done on line.
