Smiths TV Reviews

Ordered a TV. Item was showing in stock, with no warning about being on pre-order or subject to availability. Took payment and then the following day e-mailed to say item wasn't in stock. In the meantime item the item has also sold out elsewhere. Offered me a new model at £150 additional cost, so now I have to wait for a refund to be processed before I can do anything. Not very good customer service

Marc, in the Burscough shop, is extremely helpful, personable & informative. We have dealt with him many times over a number of years & would not go anywhere else. The two chaps who came to fit my Mum’s cooker were excellent. They were on time, quick, friendly & helpful.

In my quest to find a retailer better than John Lewis, I opted for Smiths - the reviews seemed excellent. I wanted to buy a Samsung Frame tv - it is a long time since i bought a tv so needed advice but it was not possible to reach sales advisers on the phone. I therefore searched Frame through the Smiths website and a confusing array of 2024 and 2025 models came up - it seemed that sizing was 32, then 50 and upwards. 32 was too small so i selected 50. The tv was delivered on Tuesday. On seeing the size, I found it hard to believe that there wasn't anything available between 32 and 50 and by searching through google not the Smiths website i came across 43 - also sold by Smiths. I rang to discuss this and check my findings - the adviser told me to go on to Chat GPT to check - he couldn't be bothered! Is that is the level of customer service! I decided I would need to exchange the tv - have spent all day trying to reach them by phone without success. Line constantly goes to voicemail. Have managed to contact by email and am told that i have to pay and organise the return myself and there is a threat that i will be charged 10% (£100 penalty) restocking. I have made clear that i have only opened the box to check the contents and this is unused, but I have zero confidence in this process as i can't speak to anyone. I would have exchanged this for the 43' with smiths - but they could not give a toss about my custom. Lesson - if you have a website. make sure the search facility works. It is unfair to penalise customers for this. 1 AUGUST UPDATE: although Smiths returns policy says customer responsible for returns, it would no doubt assist customers if Smiths added to this that most couriers will not transport TVs (they fall in an excluded class) and those that do will charge £60 upwards. Finally having agreed to use Smiths delivery courier for the return, with me paying £70 odd, I got confirmation from Smiths that the courier would send a two hour collection slot overnight. I said that i would delay my holiday departure so that the item could be collected. For reasons only known to Smiths, no collection has been set up - needless to say i have reached out to Smiths - but am still waiting to hear back and have my holiday and travel plans on hold today until that happens. PS On entering this website, Smiths asks customers to confirm if they are human or a robot. I assume that this is some perverse irony or joke by Smiths.

I placed an order with Smiths TV for a LG 65 C4 OLED model that was clearly listed as in stock. After payment, I was informed it was unavailable with no confirmed delivery date — despite the TV still being advertised as available online. They then offered me a newer (C5), more expensive model at a “discounted” price but without the original promotional extras. When I asked for a fair deal reflecting my original purchase, they refused. The company claims their terms mean no contract until dispatch, but repeatedly advertising unavailable stock feels misleading and unfair. Many other customers share similar experiences in reviews here on Trustpilot, suggesting this may be a pattern. When I raised the issue with Smiths TV, my order was cancelled and a refund issued. This looks like a classic bait-and-switch tactic and raises serious questions about their business practices and honesty. I would not recommend buying from Smiths TV and urge others to proceed with caution until the issue is resolved.

Very helpful staff. The delivery man was amazingly flexible and accommodating. Local store means if we have an issue you can speak to an actual person. Would definitely use again and recommend

Best price on the market and great service. Very happy with my purchase 65 LG G 5 excellent company would highly recommend.

I can't speak highly enough of SmithsTV. I spotted an LG TV (last year's model) on their website at the lowest price I had seen. After ordering online, I soon received an apologetic email to say that this TV was no longer available. As recompense, the email offered me a superb deal on this year's model, way cheaper than any other company were offering. The TV arrived very quickly and the whole process has been simple and straightforward. It's nice to be able to post a very upbeat review for a change! Well done, SmithsTV.

Have been watching Smiths TV,s for a while now and was going to purchase a LGG4 65inch stand mount from them a few weeks back for £1499 pounds in one of their so called sales, have just noticed now they have increased this TV by 200 pounds to now £1700 pounds, and still in their so called sale, can only assume they are doing this to reduce again in a few months for the Black friday sales, discusting tactics,...won't be buying from them now..update following my previous post earlier this week, Smiths again have increased this TV up to a whooping £2,000.00 Pounds, shocked to say the least....

All the staff that we dealt with were friendly and extremely helpful, thank-you.

Had some of the best deals. And sale staff where very helpfu. Wanted the lg g4 but was out of stock .and wasnt sure if they would get anymore, Got offered a lg 55 inch g5 at a superb price got cash back from lg also. So made the deal even sweeter. Would definitely use these guys in the future. As for the lg 55 inch g5. The picture is superb. Getting use to the controls and settings at the moment. But im very impressed And so is my daughter playing her ps5 on it. It is superb. Colours. 120fps in 4k Would like to say thankyou to smiths and the tip notch service

Ordered a TV that unfortunately Smiths couldn't get more stock of. They contacted me quickly to let me know and offered a fantastic deal on the later model so that there was very little difference in price to the original order. The delivery company they use were extremely efficient with accurate tracking info. A brilliant service from start to finish!

Great service

All of the staff were extremely helpful and they offered impartial advice. The service engineers came out promptly and quickly identified the problem with our washing machine. They gave us several options and when we to buy a new one he even helped us identify the model that was on special offer. Would highly recommend this company.

Found the appliance (washing machine) on Smiths TV for a great price and the website and ordering process was easy. We had an issue with the delivery of our appliance but this was down to the courier company rather than Smiths TV. However, Craig at Smiths TV was quick to investigate the issue and dealt with it quickly and efficiently which was appreciated.

The man in the shop was very helpful and the two men who came to set it up efficient and cheerful.

Great customer service from showroom (Mark)to actual delivery and set up (Mike)of our LG smart TV. So much better then some of the bigger stores. A real pleasure dealing with this local business.

Excellent, helpful service in store and during delivery which was on time. No need to wait around all day! Would recommend to anyone looking for knowledgeable staff that provide a friendly reassuring service.

Saw a Samsung Frame 43’ 2024 TV at a really good price but it was no longer available. Smiths offered me the 2025 model at £799 as a goodwill gesture. TV was in stock in just under two weeks and shipped within two days. Excellent service, answered the phone quickly and responded to emails. I was a bit nervous when I saw some of the 1 star reviews but I’ve had a really good experience

Quick service, knowledgeable staff and a great product.

From visiting the showroom everything was handled smoothly and efficiently and at a competitive price
