I was skeptical about using a car rental place that I never heard of but Routes was very professional and the service was excellent. The only issue was you need a copy of your insurance card in order to use your own insurance. So, I would recommend taking a copy of your insurance card or you will pay an additional $21 to $44 a day for their insurance. If given the opportunity I would use Routes again.

The Routes Car Rental at YYC are very slow. The shuttle pickup took 45min of wait. And then, another long wait after other customers at the checkin counter. Overall, an hour and 15 min since my call for pickup and I haven't started the process of getting the car. In order not to miss my appointment, I took a taxi instead as it will take 2 hours to finish processing the car rental. Very bad, slow service that can miss any tight appointments. I had flight dates of Dec 13-18; our first car rental was a Wrangler, upgraded to a Rubican for $100 total from Dec 13-15. I decided to get a second rental for the remainder of the trip (15-18) hoping to possibly keep the same one but pre-paid $49 for a second rental just in case. Routes would not rent me a second vehicle on the 15th, as I didn't have a flight date that day, and that was their "policy". Except it wasn't for the first rental. They wanted to charge over $200 to continue the rental. So I literally walked away on foot. Our first rental guy was Sam, and I give him 5-stars. The lady who did the inspection was horrible- yelled at me, at my wife, and my son- and whatever-her-name-is should be fired. In summary, read the fine print;. I'm assuming if you rent a vehicle for the dates you have flights, you won't have a problem, and you'll probably save yourself some money.
