Must be a scam

My partner obviously found this site in a bin somewhere and signed up to this about 2-3 weeks ago. In that time I think she only spoke to “counsellor” once. After that the counsellor just didn’t turn up the any of the calls. I sat in on a session last night and just listened for half hour. In that time, the counsellor named Deborah spent 24minutes just slating the sites and trying to move us off platform. Definitely a red flag for the company and counsellors as a scam. The other 6mins was her spouting the same stuff I keep hearing such as“it’s a difficult time for everyone at the moment in these blah blah times”. I’m not sure how just picking random peoples Facebook comments and using them for couples therapy is helpful. But I’ve seen a couple counsellors for myself in my life and I can spot bullshirt when I see it.

This is an online relationship…

This is an online relationship couseling service that does not allow a 3 way video call. You and your partner need to be physically in the same place to use this service. Come on Regain!!! What is your technology team doing? This is 2021, you would think they could figure out how to do multiple user video calls. This is not rocket science. They don't let you know this upfront either. So you end up spending $320 to find out that their technology is 20 years outdated and they can't suport couseling couples. A message to Regain: Obvioiusly your IT team has no idea what they are doing. Upgrade your technology team and get into the game!

So bad it almost feels like a scam...

This service is not worth the money. They force you to pay 320 bucks up front but it's impossible to nail down a time with your counsellor. I spent the whole month going back and forth with the guy trying to set a time, which is next to impossible to keep up with because the services notifications are non existent. You literally need to try to remember to log in every day to see if there is a message. Do yourself a huge favor, skip this garbage service and find a traditional counsellor.

Going through a crisis, no urgent response and then no response or refund

I signed up and they made me pay everything upfront instead of per session (first warning). I marked my request as urgent and it took 48 hours to match which is semi understandable and they say that up front. They match me with a counselor that cannot see me until the following week (not urgent) and when I schedule based on her availability she tells me she is not available that day. I asked for a refund, they tried to see what they could do to keep me. I said nothing because I found an in in-person therapist in all of that time that could see me sooner. I never heard from them again. I told them fine, match me with another counselor since I haven’t hears anything and dont want to lose out on the money they won’t return. I still have not heard from the company

Regain & Betterhelp are TERRIBLE

This sister company of BetterHelp is terrible. It’s a multi-person therapy app, that fails to mention it cannot connect multiple people if they are not in the same location. I went through two therapists, and neither one could connect a 3 way call. One month of time & money wasted. Only when I threatened to contact the board of psychology did they respond, with the facts that anyone using the app must be in the same location. You’d think they’d train or tell their therapists that, instead of no one knowing what is going on. Do your research before trusting your mental health in their hands. They deserve 0 stars. Completely wasted time & money with no apology or care about ones mental health at all. They need to vet & train their employees better, STAT.
