I don’t know why there is no option for zero star . Worst service ever, after moving to other provider rebel still taking money. They took more than 6 month to set up my online account but i am still not able to login that account. If you try to contact them automated line says contact British gas , if you call British gas they says we don’t have access. What should i do because i paid more then £900 for 4 month and we are only 3 living
have been billed for the same period by both Rebel Energy and British Gas, and it has left me with a £246 bill from Rebel and British Gas now demanding £175 for that same timeframe. I paid Rebel Energy on 22 April and 19 May 2025, both times £123 — yet British Gas claims they were supplying my electricity starting 5 April.
I've called and emailed numerous times to try and get clarity on billing periods, to cross-check what I actually owe — but still no clear response. On top of that, I can’t even log into my Rebel Energy account anymore to verify anything for myself.
The lack of communication between Rebel Energy and British Gas is appalling. It is completely unacceptable how customers have been left in the dark and expected to chase down answers themselves, while being charged hundreds of pounds without proper explanation.
All I’ve asked for is a clear breakdown of the billing periods and for Rebel to communicate directly with British Gas to confirm the payments I’ve already made.
Do not bother replying with the usual “If you'd like to resolve this, please contact us” — I ALREADY HAVE. Repeatedly. Still no help.
Sort this out. This is NOT how you treat customers.
I was trying to resolve outstanding bill with this company since September. There was no communication and the next email I got in February was a final reminder to pay a high bill (without calculations for usage) and a threat to move my case to debt collectors as I haven't reacted despite many attempts from them to contact me, which was simply untrue. I kept writing to them and none of my queries were answered. Eventually after putting in an official complaint De-Juan did take care of my case and it is being reviewed. However, even after him admitting the billing was wrong I got another email that my case was now with debt collectors.
Very disappointing, seems like they have mess in their records.
The saving grace was De-Juan and Diane W who were trying to help. If not them, they'd only get 1 star.
contacted them about our bill - they upped the monthly to cover the additional usage.
asked them to set up a DD on multiple occasions which we have been told has been done.
yet no DD has been taken, this is maybe 4 months on the bounce

I don’t understand why I do not use their services over a year and suddenly send a bill which is £3000 to ask me to pay.
All the bill I have cleared, but their customer service department seem like do not care on it. Just ask you continue to pay that unreasonable bill.
You wish to check the bill how much you used and how much you have paid. This is not possible as they will not answer on it. Keep on asking you to paid that unreasonable bill.
I called Rebel Energy about a recent bill. The phone was answered within two minutes. Phakamani was very patient and explained everything clearly to my satisfaction. I really appreciate his help and support during our conversation.
Useless, the app the tell you to use doesn't work, constant spam about setting up a direct debit and smart meter including phone calls most months.
Paying them wasn't even easy, all the routes they advertise simply don't work, I had to be given bank account details to make it work.
Not to mention getting told I was late to pay my bills... Before getting a bill, or simply not receiving a bill, or receiving it late, alongside staggering estimated bills if i neglected to send a reading (or if they simply didn't ask for one which was common enough!)
And support was less than useful with 90% of every email being copy paste, and receiving atleast 3 emails for every single one I sent, seeming unwilling or unable to fix any of the issues I had with the service.
All said the only thing I didn't have an issue with was the fact I did receive gas and electricity the entire time.
