Review summary
Postoffice has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Parcel returned from Royal mail. Post office staff did not know why although they had completed the CN22 and I signed it. The parcel came back after 7 weeks with a CN15(b) form on the returned parcel. After 15 minutes, they sent me off with a contact number that could not help. Poor service. Visit an alternative post office if you want your post to be delivered.
My local Postman is great BUT when it comes to parcels they do not come any where near the time that they are due such as 9:30 11:45. It it ALWAYS well into the afternoon.
This makes it impossible to plan. I have commitments which I am willing to work around but NOT the WHOLE DAY.
If you say you will deliver between these time THEN YOU SHOULD.
On top of that it's the same guy - who's not too friendly - it's like you have disturbed him by having a parcel delivered.
Possibly the worst delivery company in the UK.
The regular guys are great who deliver your letters, however, when you have a parcel being delivered not letters, it never arrives on time, the time slots are too long as well, and when they stick a note via your door they don't tell you what neighbour they left it with and the item reference on the last two were incorrect. I have heard they use agencies workers to deliver parcels. They clearly need more training. Lastly trying to get hold of anyone to speak to is like trying to speak to Pope.
Arranged travel insurance through the post office, but was unable to access any of the documents.
I used a new email address, but when trying to register, it said I already had an account. When I tried the forgot password, it said my account couldn't be found. When I logged in with my old email address, my new policy wasn't visible.
Their computer systems seem to be incapable of believing someone may change email address. Registration will not be possible if you have previously created an account with a different email address, and I suspect it is not possible to change your email address on an existing account. The result is post office will allow you to take out and charge you for a policy if you have changed your email address, but not allow you to access any details of it.
I called customer service who said my documents could be posted which may take 7 days, but I was leaving in 2 days. I was told my issue would be forward to the technical support team and I should hear back within 24-48 hours. It is now 7 days later, nearly the end of my holiday, and I have heard nothing.
Parcel delivered to Post Office branch for collection using Royal Mail tracked 24hr service has gone missing
Royal Mail customer service agent told me it's not their issue as they have proof of delivery scans and Post Office agent told me it's a Royal Mail issue.
So getting nowhere with finding parcel and waiting for response to complaints and claims submitted
If I could give zero stars, I would!
Took out an ISA and transferred monies in from a bank account. This is a flexible ISA incidentally so you can draw out money at any time it says.
That is until you transfer money in. They then suddenly require a copy bank statement posted to them, before you can withdraw - how antiquated. This was sent and approved, and full access given for a few hours.
Then someone at the Post Office decided the statement wasn't enough, and asked me to either post or send a secure email of my passport.
I replied and said I'd go the secure email route to speed the process up, to which they replied that service isn't available - post it! Delay, delay, delay!
It's my money Post Office! I need to return some cash back to the account it came from, absolutely no risk of fraud or money laundering.
Absolutely useless Customer Service!
I had ordered perfume for a Christmas present. Royal Mail tried delivering it to my home address but I wasn’t home so had it redelivered to post office in Ashford. I have full evidence that someone has signed for it. When I went into the store they couldn’t find my parcel and had lost it!! Coincidence that it’s Christmas time and someone has signed for it. Clearly taken it for themselves.
More than 3 months on and I'm still chasing the post office complaints team regarding a lost item due to being mis-sold a delivery service by a local post office branch manager.
I was sold a service by a branch manager of my local post office, but for an unknown reason she didn't realise or was made aware that the service she sold me did NOT deliver to PO BOXES in the UK. As a result of this, my item mysteriously vanished and I was left trying to contact the courier and the post office.
I filled out the relevant online form on the post offices website and had a reply in the 14 days as stated. Frustratingly, it was email tennis without the ability to actually speak to the complaints handler.
Despite explaining every detail regarding the missing item and proving fault with the post offices branch manager, the complaints handler tried to pass off the blame onto the courier and then sent me an email stating that my complaint was now resolved!
I sent a further 4 emails and surprise surprise, no response. Once again I had to fill out the online form to escalate my complaint, a further period of waiting "Sarah" emailed me back.
Again I had to go through the whole story and why I was complaining, we exchanged a handful of emails until she asked me to provide proof of postage along with a receipt for the item sent, I did this immediately and just like that, she disappeared and was unreachable despite a number of emails being sent to her.
This is disgusting behaviour and completely unprofessional.
It's been a number of months since this happened and I get the feeling that as you cannot speak directly to a human at the Post Office complaints team, they can happily sit and delete your emails at their convenience.
I am left with no choice but to escalate my case with an outside organisation.
I had a small leather holdall stolen with £260 worth of items & cash, from the desk you use to fill in forms, etc. The police said it was under the Theft Act 1968. I have the date and time - 45 minutes before they close. CCTV is obligated to be used to identify the filthy thieve under the Data Protection Act. You cannot talk to P.O. Ltd. The staff said nothing was handed in. The best you can do is whatsapp. The cost goes up and the service goes down. It's a grotesque organisation with zero accountability.
I have been discriminated against in my local branch and I have tried even number either from their own website or from the alternated service which makes no sense there is not 1 person who can answer calls it's all done online even their complaints number is then directing people to make complaints . Bs . I have a life long nerodevelopmentral disorder which has many problems related and my local post office refused to allow me to swop change in pound coins for a note which I was told no even tho my letter asks for reasonable adjustments to he made in universal services with discrimination. And doesn't impact negativity on my life or wellbeing which it has and now I am taking legal action .
I had the delightful pleasure of speaking to Jonathan at the Leeds Market Post Office when trying to buy some Swedish Krona. What an absolute legend, massively helpful from start to finish. Customer service seems to be a dying art these days, this guy needs a promotion and a pay rise…10/10.
