I was a bit apprehensive when Texas…

I was a bit apprehensive when Texas Family Fitness was bought out by Planet Fitness however they have won me over at the 6205 Coit R., Plano TX. location. Safiye and Hanaz always great me with a smiling face genuinely interested in what I'm working on that day and show the same great energy when I'm leaving as well. The whole gym has gotten a makeover. The only thing at this point that has prevented me from giving them a 5 star at this time is having to wait for the red light recovery room to finally open up after weeks of waiting even though the equipment is sitting there ready to use. All other amenities are now up and running. The hydro massage is amazing.

Planet fitness makes it difficult to cancel your membership on purpose

Any company that makes it hard to cancel a membership or subscription deserves one star or if you can, zero stars. And I suggest anybody who experiences difficulty when unsubscribing or discontinuing a service, should also give the company one star. Because there is absolutely zero reason for a company to make it difficult for a client to canceller membership. Planet fitness makes it super annoying to cancel the membership. And because of this, I will never sign up to them ever again. I don't care how cheap or inexpensive it is, I will never give them my business ever again. I enjoyed my time at the gym, I enjoyed the locations that I went to, but when it came time to cancel my membership because I had moved out of the city and nowhere near a planet fitness, that's when the headache began. I thought I would just simply call up, and say hey please cancel my membership as I have moved and I cannot use it even if I wanted to. Nope. They told me I had to call the specific gym that I signed up to. Annoyance number one. Annoyance number two, is when you go online you can't even cancel it on your own. Annoyance number three is when I called the gym and told them that I had moved far away from any planet fitness, and then I would need my membership to be canceled, he said you'll have to email the company at this email and tell them your situation. So obviously this is super annoying and a huge waste of my time, and so I did it. I sent an email and said please cancel my membership as I have moved and there is no way that I can continue on using a membership that I am paying for even if I wanted to. Weeks later, that guy eventually comes back to me and says that I have to fill out a form with all this information and then email it back in with a signature. By this time I was livid. And because of this whole entire unnecessary process, I will never give them my money ever again. And I suggest anyone who is thinking about planet fitness to not sign up with them because of this. Because imagine you're busy, and you think that you're just going to cancel your membership with a simple phone call. But by the time your membership actually gets canceled, you've probably been billed however many more times. And imagine they do this to people all across the country, how criminal is that. It's absolute disrespect for people. And for a gym that talks about inclusivity and that everyone is welcome, and we respect all people, no you don't because if this is the process that you put your members through when they want to cancel or they have no choice but to cancel, you are absolute criminals. You do this intentionally so you can steal more money from members. An extra payment or two doesn't add up to much but when you have thousands of members all across Canada, and you're doing this predatory behavior, it adds up to your bottom line. So I suggest anybody thinking about signing up to planet fitness to not do so. Until they change this. You should be able to go online go under your membership and simply press a button to cancel. Because if that were the case, I would probably sign back up to planet fitness again when I could.

Manager is very rude and disrespectful

Manager is very rude and disrespectful. If you tell him about members not following the rules he just pretty much tells me that we dont have to come to the gym. I've never been talked to so disrespectfully from a Manager. I thought they had a job to do but Findlay, OH staff and manager does not do there job. Open toe shoes, dust and dirt everywhere because they are allowed to wear work boots and farm boot to work out. Some girls dont even have there private parts all the way covered up and im not exaggerating. All they do is play around and eat at the front desk!!!

Staff Member Brandi Not Helpful

I usually don't post reviews because we all have those days and people, we as humans deserve patience and grace at times. If I do a review, it's because I believe in giving commendation when due or when something really needs to be addressed. This review is for the planet fitness in Jacksonville Florida Orange Park area located at the intersection of Wells Rd and Blanding Blvd. The staff member name is Brandi. The night crew informed me of the Red light machine and I was sold on it. They attempted to show me how to operate it but due to being pushed for time, I was not able to. I informed them I would be back Friday. They assured me I will get the help needed. I get there on Friday and there were some issues that was resolved in a sarcastic manner by the staff member Brandi. So I then asked Brandi if someone could show me how the machine operates. She said she and no one else would be able to show me. I then asked for a manager I could speak with and she initially replied, " What can they tell you that I can't ". I then asked her, who was the GM or franchise owner and what time they would be in so that I can share my experience. She refused but then provided me with the name Melissa. Never had such an experience like this before with Planet Fitness no matter which one I would go to. The Employees are always informative and helpful. Cognitive of the fact that knowledge on using the machines initially is helpful to prevent improper use. So I went into the red light machine, hoping it was simple to use. I just started looking at and pushing buttons that seemed correct. It didn't work. So I just left. Frustrated discouraged and definitely disappointed at Brandi's nonchalant demeanor.

Lindsey brings such great positive…

Lindsey brings such great positive energy to this place! When Jeff worked here he compacted that energy making it even more enjoyable ( just had to say) he works out here so that’s always a joy too! In the recent past there’s been lots of changes ~ new faces of staff mostly not even getting off their phone to welcome anyone in. That impacts the whole energy field of the place. I’m sad that Sam left as his management was filled with great energy too. Anyways I’m so grateful to Lindsey, and a handful of other gals who work here keeping a nice good morning hello and a have a great day upon exciting! Very joyful! Thank you!

I would suggest planet fitness gets red…

I would suggest planet fitness gets red light therapy LAY DOWN beds rather than stand up. As red light therapy is supposed to be relaxing, and I cannot relax when I am standing.

Don't join they lie to get your membership.

The company lies about the terms and conditions for cancelling memberships and when you follow their instructions, which don't meet their contract terms, they stall until they take your money.

Misconduct by Clearwater Gym Manager

I’ve been a loyal member of this gym for over three years, attending five times a week and always appreciating the staff and facilities—until now. On August 1st, 2025, at around 11 a.m., I had a deeply disappointing encounter with a manager named Courtney at the Clearwater location (1885 N Highland Ave). Earlier that morning, Courtney himself checked me in. About an hour later, I let both him and another employee, Calvin, know I was stepping outside briefly to grab my phone charger from my car. Calvin acknowledged me, and I returned in under a minute. When I came back in, Courtney abruptly shouted “Hey you, you need to sign in” in a loud and condescending tone. I explained I’d already signed in earlier, and my phone had died—hence the quick trip outside. As I began to provide my last name for confirmation, Courtney suddenly told me to leave and said I was “done for today.” Calvin tried to intervene and explain the situation, confirming I was signed in and had only stepped out briefly. Despite that, Courtney doubled down and told me he "didn't care," even threatening to call the police if I didn’t leave immediately. I left feeling shocked, embarrassed, and deeply uncomfortable. This kind of aggressive behavior is absolutely unacceptable—especially from someone in a leadership position. Sadly, this isn’t the first time Courtney has created an unwelcoming atmosphere at this gym. I hope the management team takes this seriously and ensures proper customer service training is provided, because no member should be made to feel like this.

8417 Oswego Rd Baldwinsville NY

Since May 27, 2025, I have been complaining about an erroneous charge of $15.05 from the branch at 8417 Oswego Road, Baldwinsville, NY. To this day, Donald (the branch manager) has told me in person several times that they will make the deposit for reimbursement within 7 to 10 days, but this never happens. I am disabled, and the health plan is the one that pays for the service. When I enrolled in Planet Fitness, they asked me for my bank account as a procedure, but they said will be no charge would be made, but it happens. I had called Donald (branch manager) several times at 607-308-0863, and he is never available to assist me. The employee only ask for my information so he can return my call, but this never happens. I have been dealing with this issue and I feel like I had been deceived in this matter.

Broken equipment

The vibes in here are good overall, I don’t like the lock in membership. I feel like they should have other options for memberships. It just makes canceling very hard, which is a good business strategy, but clearly shows lack of care for customers. Big corporate business. Good equipment, but sometimes machines are broken and don’t get repaired for months on end.

I went to Planet Fitness to acquire a…Hidden Terms and Conditions Agreement

I went to Planet Fitness to acquire a membership, this employee stated that she needed to ask a few short questions, she was asking for personal information, as if I was applying for a loan foe a home or a car, the questions were hidden, I made it clear that I didn't want any of my personal information sold are shared with third parties, she stated that all information was kept private. I received their agreement in my email stating that I had agreed for my information to be shared, I should have told her to give me a copy of the agreement for me to read, and if I didn't agree with their terms,I would have decline membership, I was pressured into signing the agreement, because I also made it very clear that I didn't want my personal information sold or shared. Do not sign any agreement until you read it, this is a clever trick of Planet Fitness, pressuring me to sign without seeing agreement. I went to Planet Fitness to cancel, and this employee with the AL initial stayed sign in or go back out of the door, I informed him that I wanted to cancel membership and Permanently stay out of Planet Fitness, that employee was extremely rude and hostile, I told him that I made the right decision because I don't have to tolerate and agree with you selling d sharing my personal information with third parties, and I didn't appreciate his rude, hostile and sarcastic attitude, I told him that I could do much better by going to another Fitness that is not going to use my information for profit and be rude, and have a horrible attitude, I do not recommend Planet Fitness, because they are selfish and think you are suppose to pay for a membership and allow them to use my personal information for third parties, this is absurd and preposterous. I do not understand their ridiculous rationale because it is illogical and is beneficial to Planet Fitness and not in my best interest.I am so happy that I canceled their membership. Planet Fitness was supposed to disclose their agreement for me to read and see before signing, the employee knew if I had read agreement, I would have rejected agreement and membership, she was aware that I didn't want my personal information disclose. Bad Business.

I dislike the membership lock-in…

I dislike the membership lock-in system. I dislike the choice of music they play in the gym. I dislike the way they mislead me in a "personal" trainer to set up a fitness program. I did like the physical facility. It was new, seemed clean and well kept.

Still Charged for Years, No Way to Cancel — Total Scam

I was dealing with health issues and couldn’t physically get to the gym — but Planet Fitness still kept charging me $21.99 every single month for years. Their cancellation policy is a joke. You’re required to go in-person to the exact location where you originally signed up. No online option. No email. No working customer service number. Even Bank of America couldn’t trace the charge clearly because Planet Fitness hides behind vague billing names to make it hard to detect or dispute. They know exactly what they’re doing. This isn’t just inconvenient — it’s designed to trap you. While I was sick and unable to show up in person, they kept draining my account. That’s not a gym — that’s theft. Avoid Planet Fitness at all costs

Rude Staff Worker

I enjoy the gym - however this morning at gym on Ft. Caroline Rd. Jacksonville, Florida, on my way out the door, I asked the male Latino worker, what time do they open? with a frown, he rudely responded, " the times are on the door - read it." The other worker, Rachel , overheard him and professionally responded. This has caused me discomfort going there among rude employees. His response was not necessary.

"I'm a member at Planet Fitness

"I'm a member at Planet Fitness, and overall, I'm happy with the facilities and the value. However, I was disappointed to learn that guests aren't allowed to use the massage therapy services. I often bring a guest with me, and it would be a great perk if they could also enjoy the massage chairs or other therapy options. I hope Planet Fitness will consider extending access to these services for guests in the future. It would definitely enhance the guest experience and add to the overall appeal of the membership."

I Need Help – "Pending Cancel" Status After I Decided to Keep My Membership

I’m very disappointed with how Planet Fitness is handling my membership. I had scheduled a cancellation for July 16, 2025, but I changed my mind and told my home club in Chelsea, MA that I wanted to continue my PF Black Card Plus membership. They said they could not. I’ve been a member since May 6, 2025. I really enjoy the gym and want to stay, but I’m worried that my membership will be canceled automatically because this issue hasn’t been resolved. I already tried reaching out directly, but no one is giving me a clear answer. I’m posting this here hoping that someone from Planet Fitness corporate can help me fix this before July 16. Please remove the “Pending Cancel” status and confirm that my membership is active and uninterrupted. I want to keep training with Planet Fitness!
