The consultant was very helpful and courteous she/he gave me all the advice I required. However OVO is no longer a cheap electricity provider my advice is to look elsewhere, without too much effort i can see several much cheaper options. Obviously OVO management are treating the people who first supported them in australia with contempt.

Pleasantly surprised! Usually electricity company customer service is dodgy as. This was a breeze! Opened a chat, IDd myself, asked to change direct debit to fortnightly instead of monthly. They said “Sure! Done. Anything else?” Whoa! Even sent confirmation email. If only all customer service was as easy & efficient as this!!

I had solar panels installed in my house at the beginning of December 2023. Ovo Energy arranged for Yurika to install a smart meter, but due to the disaster on the old Coast, installation was delayed until April 2024. Over the past 5 months, from December 2023 to today, my solar panels have produced 2.6MWh of power, averaging approximately 520kWh per month or 17kWh per day. Despite this, Ovo Energy continued to charge me $104 every month, based on an estimated usage of approximately 400kWh per month. This continued even when my wife and I were away for two months in February and March, leaving the house practically empty and using minimal energy from the grid. Despite numerous emails and self-reading of the meters on my part, Ovo Energy failed to address the issue. Last week, I engaged in an online chat where I reiterated the situation to a customer representative named Alex. However, he claimed he couldn't resolve the matter and only offered a mere $30 credit, which I find unacceptable. With the smart meter now installed, it's evident that I've used far less energy from the grid than Ovo Energy has charged me for. This discrepancy in billing needs to be rectified immediately. Failure to do so amounts to nothing short of theft. Ovo Energy must credit my account accordingly without further delay.
Firstly they sent me an email advising they were cancelling my plan as they advised my system was to big. I then had to prove they were wrong which I did. They apologized!! I live in Australia you morons spell it correctly. 2 months after this my rates more than doubled. I think that says it all

Customer service was helpful, answered pretty much straight away in live chat and offered solutions to my query without fuss or prompting from me. I was well into credit with OVO from solar feed-in and my regular payment, I was offered a transfer into my account or a pause on my direct debit amount (which is the same every month as they use bill smoothing). The entire conversation and resolurion took less than 4 minutes. Can't do better than that!
When I contact OVO via the message system in the App they always reply quickly and resolve my inquiry. Thanks OVO team, great work!

Terrible. I used them for a period of 10 months as their website calculated my usage to be very low. At the time I was single living in a one bedroom unit and apparently my usage was higher than a 3 bedroom house with three people living in it. When I left, I was sent a final bill, 2 months later, where they recalculated all my previouse bills and claimed I was under paying a bill that was already too high, looks like a con if you ask me. I'm now with Amber, in a three bedroom house with two other people and the bill is 30% lower than what it was when I was on my own with Ovo. Don't get trapped by these guys!
I asked if I could reduce my bill and use my credit to pay for ongoing bills. It was done happily and immediately, even reducing my bill by almost half. I was delighted with the interaction.
Ms Tahir was the customer representative to take my call and from get go she was very helpful and her manner was kind and I felt like when she heard what I had done she made every effort to resolve it for me quickly!
