Nuffield gym is much cheaper and good value for money compared to similar gyms with similar facilities but some tweaks would
Make it 5 stars for me.
Cafe needs to provide food & drink at more regular times.
Swimming lessons need to be restricted to no more than one area of the pool to allow adults to continue to use it whenever they want a swim.
Trying to ring Parkside hospital. Absolutely shocking phone system. Hanging on for ever to make a physio appointment. I gave up. This company is useless, it's supposed to be a private hospital - NHS is more efficient.
Years after the event, my sister recently mentioned how she was traumatised by my drowning incident when we were little. Having decided to learn to swim now as an adult with physical limitations, I didn't have high hopes. Emma Craker confounded low expectations, she's wonderful in spotting and addressing the individual coaching needs of everyone in the class. Her excellent communication instills confidence in the mixed group of adult learners. Highly recommend Emma!
I’ve just had my procedure for bunion removal and big toe pinning and was discharged the same day. I gad the procedure at the Leeds Nuffield and I have to say I was super impressed by all the Teams here! From being admitted to being discharged I was looked after brilliantly. The lady who did the cannula had to try twice (which was pretty painful) but reassured me and was very kind and my Consultant (Mr Budgeon) was terrific and saw me before I was discharged. I was very grateful for the Nurse (Josie I think?) who looked after me in recovery making sure I had sufficient pain relief as the nerve block didn’t work and checked on me constantly until I was able to go to my room. I was also very impressed by the Nurses who looked after me in my room and for the catering lady who kindly bought me a lovely sandwich and pot of tea (china cup!) and the whole process was as good as it could be for a relatively minor procedure but a big one for me. I’m still in loads of pain but my medication was given to me to take home and I’m sure it’ll settle readily enough. I’ve already been emailed my follow up appointments! I can’t praise this Hospital highly enough for the care they give … lovely kind friendly people who really deliver. Thank you so much
This is an embarrassment of an excuse of a gym. Equipment is constantly out of order or broken. The Pool, sauna etc. are regularly closed due to some misfunction. The lift has been out of order for the last four months. If we make a complaint the manager asks us to give him early notice and suggests that we leave.
The steam room and pool shower are hardly ever cleaned as can be verified by used tissues remaining there for about a week. They also often stink of urine.
Thought I'd have an allergy test. So I went on the website to find out how much that would be. The website asked me to fill out a form after which I immediately start receiving many marketing emails. Waited a week or so for my enquiry to be answered . The answer was to phone and and ask. In the interim I've actually had an allergy test by people who are actual people rather than automatons. Would it be too hard to actually state the price of things on the website like other businesses do?
Due to an apparent IT issue, my consultant (who is brilliant) still hasn't received my scans, which, needless to say, are rather important.
I can't believe a private hospital can have such amateur IT.
I type this, waiting for this vague issue to be fixed, with no ETA. It’s unacceptable on so many levels.
Update: I just called to enquire when this is likely to be up and running, and the apathy and dismissal I was greeted with was shocking.
I’ve had better service at Lidl.
I have been attending Nuffield gym Brondesbury Park for over a year mainly doing yoga classes - the variety and quality of the teaching is excellent - with a wide choice of highly professional tutors coming in to teach in regular slots - all of the yoga teachers are very good and suit different peoples needs - I go to classes taught by Larissa, Sally and Susie - all fantastic with great care taken to prepare interesting, stimulating and mindful experiences. There is an exciting range of other classes to choose from - the staff are very friendly and helpful - and (although a little run down in some areas) the gym has a relaxed and welcoming vibe to all. And a lovely pool!
This review is for Nuffield Health Didsbury gym. When I first started here i wasn’t welcome by your receptions they are rude and don’t have any customer service skills at all. I felt like I was scum in here and even heard one of yours pts calling me “it” and she still works for the company. I didn’t feel like I belonged here and I called this gym home. I felt like I couldn’t be myself as I was on edge all the time. I felt like I got bullied out of here. Your receptionists are rude and nasty. Avoid this gym. Do not join here
After 5 months of waiting and writing constant reviews about this company, I got a reply about a refund owed to my disabled wife . The company finally said they will pay on the 16.5.25, the £62 owed to her...... It's no wonder they have a low rating.....Nothing good comes out of being unkind, unhelpful and deliberately delaying payment that was agreed upon in December 2024. Now let's see if they pay on the 16.5.25
I joined the joint program at Wolverhampton and it has truly changed my whole outlook. Having suffered with osteoarthritis for years, with limited mobility and using a walking aid, the program has given me back my confidence and ability to move forward. Nicky who lead our program was informative, understanding and motivational. The future is looking bright again. The facility at Wolverhampton is excellent and I never feel out of place or intimidated with friendly staff and pleasant surroundings.
For the second day in the row at the Nuffield Centre in Aylesbury there has been no hot water at 7:15 AM (Monday the 12th and Tuesday the 14th) . This is not acceptable and does not seem to concern the management team at the centre.
This is the most disorganised healthcare company. It is unbearable. Repeatedly bad experiences ever time. Seriously if you have any health issues save yourself the stress and go somewhere else. They do not care. They are a huge corporation (claiming to be charitable) and customer experience is low on the agenda. You will have to deal with incompetent management processes, poor appointment processes, incorrect billing, the list goes on.
Nuffield Manor Hospital in Oxford. Absolutely amazing
I had a bowel surgery and I received the best care from Dr. Kat Baker and Laura Vincent, all the nurses, carers and catering staff. It was a perfect experience. I felt safe and respected. Food was top quality and super healthy. All the team shows high level of expertise and empathy. Great communication that helps to make you feel you are in safe hands
Front of house need better training on how to speak to the public. Turned up to join and use Nuffield gym and told no one in to do the joining membership. I was with members. I was told had to pay £15.00 and come back tomorrow to join. Why pay £15.00 on top of joining fee?? Rude and disrespectful. Charge a lot of money for overcrowded facilities. Gyms should be more accountable to clients. Too often it’s overcrowded, equipment dated and broken kit takes an age to repair. Better staff on the floor to stop users that watch episode of friends between sets.
void This Gym at All Costs
Paying an outrageous monthly fee should at least guarantee basic security—but not at this place. Items are regularly stolen from lockers, and the management does nothing about it. No cameras, no staff accountability, no real concern for member property.
It’s insulting to be charged a premium just to have your belongings go missing while you’re trying to focus on your workout. Save your money and your sanity—go to a gym that actually respects its members.
