Michaels Stores

I like the store and can usually find what I am looking for. I would like it if the store had higher quality yarn. Also I don't think the addition of fabric was a good idea as it takes away space for craft items and the fabric selection is limited in comparison to the two other craft stores.

Love the store but it needs more staff and stock. I am an oil painter and can easily zip to a local Michaels when I need supplies. I can usually find what I need but sometimes, like today, all 10x10 canvases were gone. Often brushes are in short supply. The other annoyance is the very short staffing, especially at the registers or when one needs help. On the plus side, Michaels has an amazing variety of items, and I often find things I never would have guessed would b there.

I wish that help was a little easier to find but the staff are generally very helpful. Rebekah from the Calgary Westhills location was very friendly and efficient.

The team at 73rd Ave and bell are amazing. Especially Deanna. She's very kind and friendly. Extremely helpful. She's great all around amazing. She's the best!

I needed very small adhesive lettering/numbers 4my Numismatic hobby. After looking at numerous other brick&mother stores & online, Michael's was the only place I found what I was looking 4 & the sale-price was way lower than I expected & lower than all competitors, bye far! Next time I need anything of a draft or decor nature, Michael's will definitely be the 1st place I look!!

My granddaughter is going to Sky Ranch camp this summer and needed a couple of outfits for herself and two of her friends we walked right up to this cute colorful to to with socks head band and umbrella on sale so we bought three outfits they will look so cute I had got a coupon that morning and went that afternoon to purchase the outfits so thanks for making it so easy for me a very happy Gigi

I love the store and new floor plan. I'd love to see more textured yarns. The selection carried is very limited and basic.

Love Michels so much items to offer, classes so many things to craft with. Home decor as well

Where I live we used to have an AC Moore store and Michaels. I ALWAYS went to AC Moore as I felt that they had a ton of selection and a lot of nice products as well as good pricing. When AC Moore went out of business my only option was to go to Michaels. Every trip has been more disappointing than the last. The prices are ridiculous to me with little to no sales on products. When AC Moore and even Hobby Lobby has sales on items it is usually at least 50% off on seasonal items. Not Michaels. I went in for some Memorial Day/July 4th decorations and the little they had in stock was only 30% off. There were entire sections of just empty shelves. I took my 8 year old daughter there to look for some simple craft projects and they had nothing. The few things I found that we could have gotten were not on sale and overpriced. I live too far away of Hobby Lobby to make that a regular shopping trip and am really disappointed that this is all we have left in the area I live.

Anu is such a sunshine at the Fremont Hub Michael's! Employees at that store usually seem to be too occupied to attend to customers but ANU is a customer rock star. "Not seen you for awhile," she said as she took my items to scan. "We miss our usual customers like you," she goes. Special that even when a customer is masked, she recognizes. I didn't have enough cash; and she saw how I was fumbling around for coins. She surprised me with a coupon from her pocket so that I could buy what I needed. "Seems like you really need this one," she kindly offered. Can't wait to tell you what a Michael's rock star Anu is. She validates people suddenly in need. This is not the first time she helped my husband and me. Last time, she went out of her way to search for an item we were looking for. Employee Extraordinaire, Anu! THANK YOU; you're an inspiration to visit your store again. Better still, you're a fine human being who sees people in customers. You make this a better planet, Anu. Thanks. Rachel

Let me tell you a story about a thief. On Saturday, I went to Michael’s and was eyeballed by one of the store’s employees. Clearly, she saw all my tattoos and just assumed I was a criminal. She saw me paying for my items and never took her eyes off of me. She then stopped me at the door and yelled out to the cashier asking if I paid for the items. The cashier said yes, other customers at the store were looking at me like I was a thief, the whole experience was embarrassing. So, buyer beware, this arts and craft store employee discriminates against certain types of art when she sees customers with a lot of tattoos, and she will assume you are a criminal. The whole experience upset me and I decided to return the items. Guess what? The return value for the items are $40 less than what I paid for. So, who’s the thief? I guess this employee was projecting her company’s insecurities on their customers. You are thieves. I called the corporate office and they said they will be investigating the incident but I’m sure the corporate office knows their stores are filled with thieves and nothing will come of this. Buyer beware, buy elsewhere. Especially if you have tattoos.

I've been waiting for months to catch a 70% sale in framing. I had several prints to customize, and was concerned that I was going to take up too much of the framer's time. However, Stephanie was AWESOME! She made it so much fun and knew so much about the artists that I bought another print to compliment what I already had. She was simply the best and I so appreciated my time with her!

Bought a 400 dollar cricut machine that doesn't work and cant return to Micheals. Never buy from a store that does not take returns. Shady business practice

South East Edmonton location has been wonderful. Since Covid started - this store has only gotten better. Greeted upon entering and thanked after. Associates are so friendly, polite, professional and go out of their way to help me with anything I need. Curbside - awesome, pick up in store - easy, shopping in store - wonderful. I always find deals, sales (mostly in store) and Store is organised and very clean. Sometimes they don't have items in stock but that's because of Covid (and I did contact the Michaels main office because of this). I am Very pleased with this location before other locations - only good service and experience -I'VE encountered.

My shopping at Michaels was a great experience ,the manager MONAH she was very professional passionate caring about the customers. Took her time to help me I felt at home I will be back .

I placed an order online for curbside pickup. Before I left I checked my order and they gave me the incorrect items. When I went inside, the cashier asked me to go find the correct item myself. What was the point of curbside pickup? Terrible experience.

I visit Michaels at least once a week. Since covid, stores have been scarce on some supplies but that’s understandable. But overall I always have a good experience. Sometimes the older cashiers have a hard time tho, that’s the only recurring thing I’ve noticed .
