Company is about profit and does NOT care about peoples mental health.

I had been a patient since this company was Western Psychological. I started therapy in 2019. Fastforward to today 4/9/25 and I am no longer going to receive services through them. A few months ago my therapist left Lifestance, and now my Psychiatrist too. There is a reason this is happening. The change is running the company to the ground. I finally started making progress with my mental health just under a year ago. but all of the sudden they require me to have my debit card or credit card on file in order to schedule any appointments. I saw my psychiatrist a couple days ago and decided then that I was leaving Lifestance. Today I got a call from them to schedule with new therapist. I wasn't going to answer but decided I would try again to schedule and no they would not let me schedule without consenting for them to charge my care without permission. Since 2019 I have paid every single bill I received. I do not owe them any money and recently my insurance started to cover 100% including copay. This is very difficult for my mental health and this is not what a company like this should be doing. There are so many people that are in horrible headspaces and this company is just making it harder for them to seek help. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM.

Extreme incompetence and fraudulant billing practices

Counselor called me 5 different words for 'idiot' within 40 minutes. She was completely a joke for a counselor - she honestly didn't listen to a word I said. I complained, they said all was ok and now 12 months later they're back trying to collect over $600 in bills for a 40 minute intro appointment that I was told would be removed from my account. THIS COMPANY IS NOT BBB ACCREDITED!!!!! DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Professionals you can count on!

The staff is great at what they do, They have helped many members of my family deal with trauma. They have also been able to address and support my needs and those of my family members, and give us the necessary tools to be successful moving forward.

Healing happens here

Amazing staff. Ease of use of systems. But most importantly; what separates LifeStance from every provider I've tried before is that every time I visit my wellness journey continues. It may never be complete. But it continues

Avoid these people

Absolutely awful. The therapist just giggled through two visits tried to give me financial advice and also was not interested. They were more interested in recommending a book to me. If all I needed was a book I just would’ve gone on Amazon and ordered it. Useless. Then they billed me hundreds of dollars for these few visits. When you try and call them with a billing question, good luck because you will be on hold forever after you go through about four minutes of sub menus to try and reach them I am still trying to get clarity from them about a latest bill when I haven’t been speaking to them literally in months and months.

The team at lifestance has been so helpful. My therapist Laura has helped me understand why I feel the way I do and has helped me discover my adhd. Through her and nurse Coleman, I am feeling better, and am more productive. Thank you.

Lifestance About Money, Not Mental Health

I went to this location for about a year to a year and a half. For most of my time there, I had a decent experience with the therapist I had been paired with. I was told that they took my insurance, which was nice, because it seems difficult to find excellent mental health professionals who are accessible but also ones who are affordable. I’ve used a therapist at other companies for CBT for the past ten or so years and have had a rollercoaster of experiences. Some good and some bad. All in all, I enjoyed the help I received here, however, my experience towards the end ruined my overall experience and has pushed me to share it in a public review. The therapist I was seeing for the better part of a year had told me at least a few times that I could just not show up to an appointment if I wasn’t feeling well. I did a couple times and then sent her an email to let her know I wasn’t feeling well. I’ll come back to that in a minute. As of October of last year, my therapist began to quit seeing me due to being regularly and unexpectedly absent/sick. I can understand this happening, however, I was never informed as to what was happening and how long it would be occurring. I waited. As I mentioned, I haven’t gotten therapy since last year and it’s now been months. Around February this year, I reached out to Lifestance since they never reached out to me to explain what was going on and help me get the therapy I need. They were wishy-washy about what was happening with my therapist so I had them schedule me with a new therapist. This was for middle of February 2025 and I hadn’t had therapy since October 2025. I had one appointment with that person and was not feeling like I had a good connection with them. However, Lifestance still billed me. I scheduled a follow-up meeting with that therapist, then no-showed due to my Mom being in hospice and the day I scheduled being my birthday. Lifestance charged me $75 for not showing up and me not letting anyone know what happened. I reached out to them and asked for it to be removed from my billing and explain my situation but I was told that I am a “routine no-shower and they need to abide by their policy now.” I reached out again to speak to a supervisor and when I spoke to him, he spoke over me and was very rude. He did not listen to my story and just reiterated that I did not show up to my appointment so I owe the fee. I told him how upset I was and how I was mostly upset with the fact that I went so long without therapy and no one had reached out to me to help me get scheduled. It wasn’t about the money although billing me for not feeling a connection with a new therapist was the nail in the coffin for me. Please be wary of this company as it seems to me they’re more interested in making money than about your mental health. Good luck in your search!

I found the best counselor

I found the best counselor, Jody, at Lifestance! She is very intelligent, professional and knowledgeable. Helps w conflict I may have w family time to time. Handles compassionately as well. Only problem was when another family member did not have his insurance accepted after having been taken for a year at least. That is a Lifestance business issue, not reflection on excellent counselor we have there.

Poor on all levels

Poor on all levels. The therapy sessions for my son were less than 20 minutes sometimes less than 15 - when we are paying for 1 hour sessions. The appointments are easy to schedule on-line but difficult to change - only through calling with limited office hours. The patient portal is ancient and holds no information. Customer service is extremely poor. Waiting on hold for ages. Issues with insurance and over charging took many calls to resolve. Would not recommend at all.

Terrible for medical records

Terrible for medical records, my disability has not being approved because LifeStance medical records has a lack (zero) communication and responsiveness with my insurance so my claim has been no approved since life stance have not been submitted the insurance company for more than 4 weeks. This caused a significant financial strain just for them.

LifeStance

Therapy was always something I avoided, thinking there was no way it would help. My only regret is wishing I had started going to therapy sooner. I owe almost everything to my therapist for all of the progress I've made.
