Don't buy anything from their closing stores.

During COVID-19 the service at Jo-Ann…is terrible

During COVID-19 the service at Jo-Ann Fabric Store is terrible! I’ve ordered on line three times and either I’ve received it three weeks late or not at all. Their website is terrible and I’ve had to pay in advance for bad service.

Beware mail order

Beware mail order. I placed a large order for flannel fabrics. It took a long time to do this because you have to scroll endlessly through their website to find anything that is actually in stock. Once I placed the order and paid (including the $7.99 shipping), I was informed that almost all of my order is cancelled due to lack of availability. I would NEVER have paid the $7.99 shipping for just the few items that will come. Very annoying, and no opportunity to cancel the whole order. I will ask for adjustment of shipping and update when I hear. Joann needs to manage their e-commerce site! Whoever is responsible for managing the site should be terminated and they should hire someone who knows what they're doing.

In March I decided to make and donate…

In March I decided to make and donate masks for hospitals and a few clinics. I went to Joann Fabrics , in La Verne, CA to ask what type of fabric I should buy. I asked an older lady that was working there and with the most condescending voice she said "They should be N95 masks" and she walked away. I felt stupid and questioned if I should even be making masks. I continued looking around the store and found a group of people doing the same thing. They told me what I should buy. As I came to pay, I thought I'd tell the young lady at the register what I had gone through. I stood in line for about 2 minutes before I asked her if she could help me. She also had the worst attitude so I kept my mouth shut, paid and left. Since this is the closest Joann's to my home I have made two orders curbside pick up orders and its taken about 4-6 days for both. This weekend I decided to try out the Redlands, CA store and my order was ready in a few hours. I made another order today at the Chino, CA store and my order took about an hour to be ready. My thought is that either the employees in La Verne don't like there jobs or they aren't really friendly or both.

They don't protect shipped items

Ordered 2 items online and when they arrived to me, the ceramic item was broken in a bunch of pieces because they didn't bother to wrap it or anything. They literally just put this fragile ceramic piece in a huge box without a single thing to protect it. Obviously their employees don't care how their products arrive. What made me the most mad is I tried to make a review on the website warning other people, and I got an email telling me that they wouldn't post my review because I should take it up with customer service instead (which, news flash, I did, no response). Bull crap, I should be able to warn others that they don't wrap and protect their items when shipping.

PICK UP CURBSIDE (what a joke and totally a waste of time)

Like everyone else during this pandemic they offer buy online pick up curbside but they fall so very extremely short on follow through. I placed a order 5 days ago part was pick up curbside and the other was ship to home. I got my ship to home days ago but and still being told that my pick up curbside is delayed. SERIOUSLY if you cannot manage curbside like all other retailers are that offer it then you should not advertise it!!! FRUSTRATING

Placed an order online over 3 weeks ago...received a partial shipment and no one will respond to my "several" messages about the back order. If your going to force people to send an email for correspondence and not allow a telephone inquiry, THEN ANSWER THE EMAIL MESSAGES! First and last time ordering online from JOANNE. Extremely Disappointed.

Order issues

Yesterday I made an order of 6 threads, ruler and cutting board. Paid (including $7.50 shipping fee) and in few minutes received email that everything except one ruler are not available and they canceled these items. Right after that I wrote them to cancel the remained items, no answer for their CS, nothing. I do not want to get one ruler which cost is less then shipping fee. I'm practical person and do not have extra money to pay for such expensive shipping fees just because they cannot organize normal curbside pick up. Today I got email that they are proceeding with my order! What a shame, why their Customer Service ignores customers emails?? Why I have to pay for what I do not want anymore and already informed them about it? There is no way to reach them by phone too.

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH JOANN'S

I placed an order on Thursday for thread as my church is looking for its membership to make masks. I received an email on Sunday afternoon that said that my 3 spools of thread was ready for pick up. They sent me pick up instructions. I made a copy of the instructions (which included the order number). Was busy packing food for the church yesterday, so ran over to Joann's around lunch time today. I parked the car to go in (as per my instructions) to pick up my thread. The front door was closed and the lady out in front of the store said that I had to get in my car and get in line and it would be brought out to me. I, or course, had to call to let them know that I needed the thread brought out......since I could not pick it up as instructed. So I called the number that was posted out in front of the store. It took the lady almost 5 minutes to even find my order, even though I gave her the order number. They finally brought it out. I had bags of concrete mix in the back of the Jeep and thought one might fall out if I opened the back hatch, so I didn't want to open my hatch. They weren't happy about that. I asked if she could just throw the knotted bag with the 3 spools of thread through the window. She said that the CDC wouldn't let her. DA !! So, she put the bag on the hood of the Jeep. She wasn't happy. NEITHER WAS I !!! Joann's should send out specific instructions about how to pick up an order----and then change the way they do business. VERY POOR PERFORMANCE ON THEIR PART.

I am very disappointed with JoannsDont order from Joanns

I am very disappointed with Joanns. I placed an order three weeks ago and have not received any type information as to when I will receive my order. I am a senior citizen and disabled and I do not recommend ordering from Joanns. They do not care about their customers. They have stopped taking phone calls and the only way you can contact them is email. I have send at least eight emails about my order and have not received a single email back about my order. Joanns has my money but when am I going to receive my order. Who knows when. With Joanns not taking phone calls any more this is no way to run a business. I would much rather wait longer on the phone to speak to a person than send an email. Whoever they hired to answered the emails is doing a bad job. This is no way to run a company. I receive daily advertising from Joanns about ordering things but little do the people know who order from these advertisements is that they do not fill the orders. I would not recommend Joanns anymore. I feel they are a company that does not care about their customers.

I used to be the biggest fan of Joann…

I used to be the biggest fan of Joann but not anymore after one online order. They took my money right away, only to give me part of the order at the curb and then charged me shipping ($7.99) for an order I was told I can pick up. I didn't authorize this but they charged me anyway. I emailed them, not one word from customer service. Then a week later I get charged for my whole order again when that $5 item shipped out for $12.99 plus tax. Again, tried to report it and nothing! WHAT A JOKE. I want all of my money back..........both payments.

I wish I could give it a negative…

I wish I could give it a negative number of stars. It took them a week to confirm my order ( but only 60 seconds to accept payment). Then promised my to deliver my order in ten days. They could not even keep that promise. My package was delivered to a local.post office rather than my address. No one can find it yet. Please, take my advice and avoid this company at all costs

Do not order a thing from this company

Do not order a thing from this company. You will regret it. You will be just waiting and waiting for a curbside order you may or may not receive. Need to cancel because you found a better arts and crafts store that isn't going to jerk you around? Good luck with that because they will not cancel and tell you to wait whatever unknown amount of time until your order is ready to reject the order. For your own sanity just look at the other review and avoid. They are not lying. Update 5/26/20 It was 2 weeks before my curbside order was ready and when I ignored the pick up email because I just didn't want it anymore. They sent me an unwanted text message asking me if I still want the items, which seems like harassment since I unsubscribed from receiving text messages from them months ago. My money is still being held up as an authorization despite me calling the store to cancel the order last week. I still stand by my review. I am so done with Joanns.

Joann fabrics in w Columbia SC

Joann fabrics in w Columbia South Carolina is filling online/ pick up curbside orders promptly, answering their phones and happily bringing orders out to your vehicle. if you live in the vicinity, use the app and order from their store! However Augusta GA store claims they have 300-500 online orders a day coming in. That would be 70 hours of work a day at 10 minutes per order. I would not recommend ordering from them, at all. Go W Columbia store!

Just ordered a small online order

Just ordered a small online order, yesterday. Noticed discount was wrong. Noticed no refunds, until you get order and return it. Order is processing. Can't cancel! My local stores seem to be non-exitant or questionable. Sounds like Jo-Ann's is perpetrating a mass online fraud, possibly mail fraud, if not more. Maybe it is time to contact your state attorney general's office? I think they would be interested. Learned my lesson.

Extremely Disappointing Experiences

I will be writing several reviews since I’ve had many experiences online and in person. I’d like to start off with the worst experiences first. I’ve purchased things from the Cockeysville and Parkville Maryland stores. Cockeysville’s customers service was BEYOND POOR! They way their curbside delivery was set up was POOR! The woman they had bringing packages out was RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, and UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! I WILL NEVER BUY PRODUCTS FROM THERE AGAIN! Second runner up is Parkville. I ordered oil for my sewing machine. Money was taken from my account but my order to tell me to pick it up was NEVER sent to me. After 3 days, I called the store. An associate asked me for my order number and said she would print the paper out and have someone to pull it. After waiting an additional 2 days I called to cancel the order but she says, “No, you can pick it up today or tomorrow. Whatever works best for you.” So I went to pick it up a few minutes later. While picking it up I asked the guy who brought the bags out did they have sewing machine and he answered yes. So I decided to go in to see them. He had already had models at the cash register to choose from. Models I hadn’t seen while doing research online (as I am a new sewer). There were 3 Singers (all different models), and 2 Brothers St371HD. I explained want I was doing, what I needed, and my future plans. Initially, I was unaware that the bag guy was the manager of the store until he said he was going to call his associate to help me with my decision as the store was already closed. My best friend was there with me and telling me REPEATEDLY to not choose the Brother and one of the Singers because the ratings were very low online. But NOOOO I went against what he told me and trusted the advice of the well trained LYING ASSOCIATE! Then THEY ALL had the audacity, to read me and guess what I could or couldn’t afford!!!! Once I started talking about the thousands of dollars I’ve sent online at their store and others, the manager then says, “I have a machine in the back for what you’re looking for for $1200. By then I’m annoyed so NO. Every instinct screamed to leave and just buy my new machine online... but I didn’t listen! My smaller Brother machine’s speed is 850, and the one just purchased is 800! No speeds being posted on the box like others should’ve been a red flag! But the associate RAVED about this machine and how she has one and LOVES IT! LIES!!!! And because of this virus, I’m in able to return it right, so I have TONS of orders that will still be delayed with slow producing machines! The online warehouse is next inline for my fury! They will send piece by piece out for delivery and take from your account while doing so. I expect for the money to go out when I place my order... If the product isn’t there and has to be canceled THEN RETURN THE FUNDS! I think that easier to let the customers know what’s taking place with their orders since NO ONE is EVER available to answer the phones on the customer hotline or by email!!! My ONE GREAT INITIAL experience was with the store in Frederick on St. Patrick Street! It was 💯 % but they were damn close! I really enjoyed getting my curbside purchased from them! IF and that’s a big if atp, I decide to shop at Joann Fabrics in the future, it will ONLY be from the Frederick MD location! But for now I’m extremely discussed with my overall experience with this company. And I’m a postal worker just in case someone from the HORRIBLE stores read this! I’m good in my finances... smh

I ordered yarn on line came to 272.84 which they took out of my account. These are bad times with virus and all so expected partial shipments. Problem is they are double charging me each new shipment they are taking more money out of my account after I paid for the whole thing up front. Can’t talk to anyone no one answering my email. My one and only experience with Joann’s on line.

Rude associates during pandemic

I understand that times can be stressful during the pandemic, but I still deserve to be treated like a person. They do not have an associate at the doors monitoring customers going in as customers are coming out (10 are allowed in the store at a time. This caused issues and apparently there were too many people in the store at once. I had a worker raise their voice at me because I came in when someone came out, just like every other customer was doing before me. They want us to self-monitor, but then get upset over something we have no knowledge of. WE have no idea how many are in the store at once and most of us are trying our best to follow rules and stick to guidelines. That’s impossible when there is no associate helping us. I was not impressed with the way the situation was treated and will likely opt to visit other craft stores in the future where I know I have been treated with kindness.
