Japan crate - terrible communication

I signed up for Japan crate last November, I stayed signed up until February this year. Since then I have only received a single crate after next to no communication, i haven’t been notified once on any of my other crates. If your thinking of signing up for this service, don’t. Edit - I made contact with Japan crate and they have said they will refund my order, still a disappointing outcome after so little communication. You shouldn’t have to regularly contact a service to ensure that you have gotten your product. Edit 2 - Not a single email in my spam folders from Japan crate.

Make a first day refund policy for people who accidentally paid for a month they didn’t want a box from

I like the crate that I got from them last month, but I really only wanted one crate from Japan crate at this time. They gave me no heads up that the next month payment was coming so it just automatically charged me and they have no refund policy for the first day of a payment going through which is ridiculous. I can’t afford to get another box at this time as I’m currently unemployed and I’ve been trying to save the remaining money I have left and now I have $50 less than I had before because I had no idea it was time for the next payment and there’s absolutely no refund policy for an order that hasn’t even been shipped out yet.

Honest review

Honest review I've been wanting to experience Japan Crete for a long time and every time I skip try them. But finally I tried them. I will talk about the positive points first, then the negative ones Positive: 1-They ship to ALL COUNTRIES without exception, and if you want fast shipping on DHL, you will pay $15 and I see it as an appropriate amount. Some may prefer to pay 10$ or 11$ for Express shipping, but I see it appropriate. 2- There is a variety of salty and sweet products Negative: 1- PRICE: The price of the box is 50$, and this is a very exaggerated price compared to the size of the box and compared to your competitors, for example, TokyoTreat, the price of the box is 37.5$ and about the same size. While Bokksu offers a $60 box, but it's size up. Therefore, I advise JapanCrate to reduce the price by 10 dollars (39.99 would be appropriate) or increase the size of the box. 2- When writing allergenic contents such as nuts, alcohol, vegetarians, vegans, pork products (for Jews/Muslims) Because Tokyo Treat and Bokksu write in the monthly newsletter Allergens

Shipping problems just continues

I was so excited to receive my first crate, but problems just keep piling up. I am extremely disappointed with both the shipping and handling of my crate. I ordered the crate on the 21 of April and have yet to see anything after more than 2 months. From the link I was provided I could see that the shipping of the crate wasn't planned before the 19 of may one month after I ordered I contacted customer service in late May to see what was up with the shipping, they were very helpful and gave me a link to trace the crate. But to my huge disappointment, the link showed that the crate was shipped to a facility in the US or Canada, while I live in Europe. The overall way the company works with transparency and communication is outright disappointing. The way I found out that there might be delays was through the bad reviews online, where other customers have experienced delays. Here the company had written an answer where they explained that there might be delays. How can the company not write a mail out to the customers? The only reason for not giving the company 1 star is the great work from the customer service. ¨ I will update the post when I get the crate if ever.

Beware everyone in EU, DHL being DHL

There's no such thing as free shipping for DHL so for 25 USD crate I had to pay 6 USD tax (rightly) and 26 USD "tax for shipping", noone cares it was free. Best part is I could refuse to accept the parcel but it will not cancel the duty to pay taxes. I've never had such issues with Japan Post, so until it's an option it's hard pass.

If you live near a 99 ranch. Don't subscribe.

The things that are sent in the boxes are not worth my time or that amount of money. We live within 20 min. of several stores I could buy it all from. I was trying to log in and cancel my next subscription and it eould not let me, when I reached out to customer service it took them a day to respond and by then i was charged for the subscription. I can no longer get a refund. I can't believe a small delay would be so damming.

First and last time

I decided to try the Doki Doki crate from Japan Crate to see if it was worth a subscription in the future. The reason I decided to do it now is because I got a discount code which would give 50% off. Instead my stupid self went for the code LUCKYBAG. According to JapanCrate the value of this 'bag' would be atleast $25 dollars. It took a while for the crate to arrive and I got 0 updates, until I got a track and trace code from the United States(?). I didn't think it would be the box, since other lootboxes ship from Japan which adds to the authenticity. After all, there's plenty of 'Japanese' items which are in reality produced in countries like the U.S. or China. Sadly the box from the US was my Doki Doki crate and this is where it gets really disappointing. First of all, the box smelled. When I opened it there were 5 small snacks around the box. I nearly cried when I realised these were the contents of the 'LuckyBag'. Crappy snacks probably taken from a bigger box and thrown in there. There's no way these are worth more than $5. Then onto the box itself... Most of the items were cute I guess. Nothing to write home about. 2 of my items (a post-it booklet and a 'folder') were very wrinkled somehow... Really a waste of money. I would have given atleast 2 stars if I could have left a review on the site. It feels weird that I can't do that... Edit: customer support was very nice and understanding and gave me a refund for the damaged items. Their response time is also very fast :)

You're never too old!

You're never too old for cute stationery! The items I receive in my Inku Crate help to keep me organized and give a creative outlet to my imagination, whether it be writing about my day in a journal or scrapbooking about summer memories.

Love these treats!

Though sometimes the shipping can be a bit long, I love the treats I receive in the box! The inclusion of a drink, as well as the variety in size of snack, is great! I love being surprised with it in my mailbox!

Worth It

My family is always excited when our Japan crate arrives. We don't always like everything in the box, but it doesn't matter. The experience and fun we have exploring all the items and tasting a bit of everything more than makes up for it. I will say that there are a lot of cola flavored products. Lol. With that said, I am always excited to try my new Kit Kat flavor of the month! I haven't been disappointed yet. :)
