⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The team at Greggs Fickle-Mermaid, Chapel en le Frith are absolutely fantastic! I’ve been going here about 3-4 times a week since it opened, and they never fail to impress. The staff are so friendly, patient, hardworking, and always make you feel welcome. What really stands out is how they take the time to have a quick chat and ask how you are—even when they’re super busy. That’s not always easy in a fast food takeaway, but they nail it every time! They know me so well now that they even ask, “Usual is it?” for my coffee order—always spot on and made to perfection. 👌 Honestly, I can’t fault them. Greggs should be really proud of this team—they’re an absolute credit to the company! Huge thank you from me to them—you guys make my visits a pleasure every time. — Sally B (the caramel latte, one shot, with all the shizzle gal)
The warning across their cabinet in the St Thomas street branch outside London bridge station says be careful as it may be piping hot. The food is never piping hot as it is always positively cold, not even lookwarm and they don't have a microwave. This company's sudden resurrection as some incredibly baker is bizarre as they really are just cold stodge.
We’ve never had any issues with our local Greggs but any minor issues have been promptly addressed & sorted without delay. Especially have to give massive credit to the online customer services team. Always courteous & polite and will to help. If you have any issues then they address the best they can. Even after sorting stuff out they always give you a token bit of compensation for the inconvenience. I wish more companies would take their lead in customer care!!
Ive never met a really depressed member of staff in my life, ever. Asked if she enjoyed her job she said no i said i can tell.
AFTER PURCASING A COLD ITEM TOLD BY STAFF THAT THEY HAD JUST LEFT THE OVEN! I eventually threw it in the bin, pastry undercooked and puppynose warm! REPSONSE :Thanks for taking the time to contact us and we're sorry to hear you were disappointed. Just to let you know, our savouries are freshly baked throughout the day to give our customers that 'just-baked' taste we all love. We then put them in our counters where they cool naturally. We don’t keep our bakes in a heated environment, use heat-retaining packaging, or sell them as hot. If our Sausage Rolls, bakes and pizzas were kept hot after they'd been baked, they'd be subject to VAT and we would have to charge a higher price for our customers. If there is anything you're unhappy with, our Team Members will be more than happy to refund or replace it for you. They'll also be able to advise you what's currently baking or is fresh out of the oven. We'll get in touch with the shop's Area Manager and ask our team to bake often throughout the day to try and prevent any further disappointment. So we can look into this further, can you please confirm the following: - The date and time of your visit - The name or description of the Team Member who served you Thanks again for getting in touch. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Joseph Greggs Customer Care Team Tele: 08081 473447
I love the new local Greggs in clacton water glade park it’s a great addition to our area. The speed and the cleanliness & always a wonderful atmosphere!! Amber is always so Welcoming.
New store at the Hilton hotel carpark in Swindon in lydiard fields....Food was cold and prices have gone up. Paying a fiver for two cold bakes is appalling. Why have to pay more when standards have slipped.
What an absolute shambles ! We orders some bakes that were stone cold even thou they were in the warmer. The service was amongst the worse I have ever encountered. Appalling and total waste of my money and time along with my tastebuds. Never ever again. Mangers and team leaders should be ashamed
Greggs in Weston Super Mare Craziness! It’s hard to find words to describe it. At 5:44 pm, I ask for a Belgium Bun and get told they do not have any more left. However, standing next to the server is about 10 crates full of boxes with 2 Belgium Buns in, so I ask for a box of 2 buns. Their response was “Sorry, I can’t sell you these, they are for tomorrow”. There was probably 20 boxes of 2 Buns per crate, therefore about 200 boxes of 2 buns. What utter madness! They have stock there to sell and will not sell it. If they do not sell all of these tomorrow then they will be throwing them in the bin. Or another way to look at it, if I drive here again tomorrow, which is bad for the environment, driving unnecessary miles, they will sell me a box of buns, or all even all the boxes they have, however, today, 1 box of 2 buns is too much to ask. I have never know a company have stock for sell and refuse to sell it when a customer asks to purchase it.
Went into the crayford store for a tuna roll. Waited until called by the cashier. I was then called and went to pay. Someone else wanted a roll not in display so rather than completing the sale to me the person serving me calls someone else to serve me and disappeared. Clearly I was not important enough so left the goods and went else where.
Decided to pop in for a breakfast roll and coffee. With the breakfast deal you also get 2 hash browns, neither of which were cooked properly.
Buxton branch of greggs Wearing a sunflower lanyard provided access card was treated like I was completely stupid. Provided disability card too. Awful experience I've been here many times over the last 7 years never have a been trested so discrimitivley as I have this last week. Staff need awareness and training I.hope they get treated as badly in future utter rubbish customer service very bad
Called into peterlee branc for coffee and baguette took 2 minutes to walk to my car coffee absolutely shocking and it's not the first time, I was in a rush so no time to take ot back, I'm giving up on the place now!!!!
These Uber eats type delivery drivers are a real hassle. I was in a queue and about 5 of these people came in with their Motorbike helmets on, jumped the queue, while they are trying to pick up their food.. their bags dumped in front of one of the stands with food (meaning customers couldnt get to the food). They were all congregated around the counter blocking the view of all the hot food and blocking the door for employees to get out to stock up the food/drinks. I had to yell at them as they were not listening to the employees who politely told them to move out of the way (which they ignored!!!). Why is not more done to combat this behaviour??? I and others I have spoken to are seriously considering boycotting Greggs. Greggs needs to do more to combat this antisocial behaviour!
Went to Greggs at Lilly Hall today.Waited in line for over ten minutes got to the till order two salad rolls only to be told No.Not enough staff on to make them. There were two staff one serving while a female just stood in the back putting a sticker on a packet brought it out & put to the chill cabinet went back & stood there seemingly doing same thing in slow motion. The man infront of me got fed up & walked out.i don't blame him. That is a total joke.DONT GO THERE
High Holborn, 9 Chancery Lane. misleading advertising there is a sign at the entrance advertising breakfasts for £2.85, but when ordering at the till, there is no breakfast available at that price.
Queued for 30 mins for 2 lattes. Very long queue but the tills not ringing. Staff just stocking shelves. Your not going to clear the shelves of new product if only one person at the toll. Check out telford store 17 March around 11am. Then went and sat down and zircon on full blowing cold air. People go for a coffee and a warm not sit there with hat and scarf on. Greggs get your act together. This shop needs a management shake up.
Asked for a katsu chicken bake at Greggs in bulwell, Nottingham and it was ice cold. I asked if they could warm it up a bit because I am eating it right away, they refused and said that it was against policy to heat their food up for customers.. I had to eat that pastie ice cold on an ice cold day. I don't understand that policy, but it's crazy and I won't be buying from greggs again. What's the point.
Just bought a 'steak bake' from Greggs inside Tesco's (Dragonville-Durham) Absolutely rank, full of fat chewy meat and lumps of solid gristle. Put me right off ever ordering another. p.s. wish i could've posted a photo of what i spat out.

Greggs receives a mixed reception from customers, with a significant number expressing dissatisfaction. While some reviewers appreciate the friendly staff and good service at specific locations, such as the Kilmarnock and Bath Road stores, many others report serious issues. Common complaints include cold food being served, with multiple customers noting that items they purchased were not hot despite being assured otherwise. Additionally, there are concerns about food quality, with reports of unsanitary conditions and a decline in the traditional recipes that once defined the brand. Customers also mention poor management, such as running out of popular items early in the day. Overall, while there are pockets of positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment leans towards disappointment.
