EF Educational Tours Reviews

The tour overall was excellent. Our docents were very helpful and nice. However people need to be ready for the amount of walking and fast pace. It is very physically taxing. People also need to understand that food and hotel accommodations will be different from what they are used to and not blame EF for the difference. Things are different in other countries and that is part of the educational experience. This is not a relaxation tour. It is an educational tour. Plan accordingly.

Very knowledgeable and entertaining guide Christian.

We had to wait to many times for bus driver

My kid had an awesome trip! He had absolutely no complaints said the whole thing was well organized from his point of view, and he loved the guides in the country. They got a great taste of the country in one week and he wants to go back and encouraged us to visit as well.

Honestly the tour director Christian (spelling) was wonderful. My daughter and her friends loved him. The last hotel was awful. Dirty. Plus, the food. They didn’t get to eat authentic Italian food even once. It was all at Americanized restaurants or the hotel. They also need to factor in disabled people. My kid has to use a cane to get around and they never stopped for a short rest.

I endured during a recent tour under the guidance of your employee, Julian. The level of negligence, misconduct, and outright disregard for traveler safety and dignity Julian demonstrated a shocking lack of professionalism. After I shared my personal reflections about the tour on Facebook, it became clear that another tour director and an adult male traveler were monitoring my posts, sharing them with Julian, and gossiping about me to others — including the group leader. Rather than remaining impartial, Julian joined in this inappropriate behavior, treating both me and my son with open hostility. His concern over my private Facebook opinions — which he had no right to police — overshadowed his responsibility to lead and support all travelers. The situation worsened with multiple serious breaches of conduct: Sexual harassment of minors: One male traveler made repeated inappropriate sexual remarks to underage travelers — an issue that was reported by another adult on the trip. No visible action was taken. Physical assault: That same traveler's wife physically assaulted me in a public breakfast area by forcibly grabbing and squeezing my hand and pushing me — in full view of others. I reported this assault directly to Julian. He took no action whatsoever and offered no support or accountability. Inappropriate and degrading instructions: During a long bus ride, Julian told female passengers to urinate in bushes, despite the presence of a fully functional toilet onboard. This humiliating and completely unnecessary suggestion was degrading and unprofessional. Negligence during free time: Julian routinely disappeared during scheduled free time to visit personal friends, drink alcohol in the lobby with gossiping travelers, and avoid group interaction. Disinformation and forced cash payments: He insisted that we pay cash for certain excursions (e.g., 17 euros for a palace tour, 30 euros for Dachau), falsely claiming they were mandatory and group-only. When questioned, he backtracked and admitted they were optional. This felt manipulative and dishonest. Lack of knowledge and effort: Julian provided minimal educational information, frequently told the group to “just go shopping,” and demonstrated little understanding of the destinations we visited. Appearance and hygiene: He often appeared tired, disheveled, and lacking basic hygiene — further diminishing trust in his leadership. What was promised to be an immersive, culturally rich experience turned into a chaotic, uncomfortable, and deeply upsetting ordeal. The conduct of your employee and the environment he enabled were not only unprofessional but potentially unsafe for me and others, especially minors.

Trip was very well organized, food left something to be desired but absolutely worth the money!

There were several delays due to the bus breaking down and days without air conditioning, resulting in some travelers going to the hospital . The Swiss Fondue experience was ridiculously expensive considering what it was. Also flight home was delayed by hours which was problematic for those picking up returning travelers. Was told there would be a partial refund issued however have not heard anything from EF Tours about that.

Good and Bad but better hope there are no travel issues 1) Itinerary was great 2) Hotel choice in Dublin and Paris seemed great, London not so much. Heard horror stories about mold and unclean rooms. Also the location in London was out by Heathrow meaning any activity within London was going to take a long time to get there. 3) Tour Guide was great. 4) Kids seem to have just enough time on their own to explore while also getting the most out of the scheduled activities. 5) Flight delays / cancellations. This is where EF really falls down. My son's flight was canceled on his way back home. His tour leader was working with EF and the airline but wasn't really getting anywhere. I called EF directly and my experience was dreadful. I asked for a supervisor and the agent refused to put someone on the phone and asked me to send an email. An email while my son is stranded in the Paris airport!

Stephanie the tour guide was fun, knowledgeable and pleasant.

What an amazing experience. The guides and bus driver really helped make this a great experience. My son e experienced all of the top spots in each country. Boat rides, a gondola ride, tram to the alps and a train ride to Scotland. Can not recommend this tour company enough.thanks for a great time!

My traveler says “trip was great and I would go again if I had the chance.”

It was pretty fun

We had an AMAZING and connected personal tour guide for our group which elevated the experience. The tour guide took extra care for the daily details of our trip and added opportunities for experiences when possible. It really helped our group to feel emerced in the cultures of the places we visited.

The trip itself was great to see new things and going to places as a book yourself trip you may not experience. My only heartache from the trip were the accommodations and the busing. I understand staying cheap with hotels and that is why we share rooms, but the sterling dorms and the George and abotsford hotels were a little far fetched. The beds were awful at the dorm, no where to truly hang out everything was shut down, abbotsford hotels the staff was rude and the hotel was just gross. The routes for busing made no sense we would travel hour and 45 minutes away from the city that we were touring the next day, having days with less bussing to and from the places you are seeing and accommodations closer to them would be beneficial and make for a better trip, when searching there were hotels that were same price but much closed. I would say in that realm the trips could use some review.

An Unforgettable Ecuadorian Adventure with EF Tours! As a group leader, I recently had the incredible opportunity to take my students on an EF Tours trip to Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands, and I cannot recommend this company highly enough. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, supportive, and truly exceptional. Our journey began long before we even departed, thanks to the phenomenal assistance of our tour consultant and experienced specialist. They were instrumental in helping me recruit travelers for our group and provided invaluable support in preparing all the necessary information for our pre-departure meetings. Their expertise and dedication made the initial planning stages incredibly smooth and stress-free. Once on tour, our Tour Director continued to impress us with their outstanding professionalism and attentiveness. They were exceptional in ensuring the itinerary was perfectly tailored to our group's interests and needs. Most importantly, they made every single one of us feel safe and secure throughout the entire trip. Their presence allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty and culture of Ecuador and the Galápagos, knowing we were in capable hands. EF Tours truly delivered an unforgettable educational travel experience. If you're considering a student tour, I wholeheartedly recommend them – you won't be disappointed!

Ulli was amazing!!! She was fun and knowledgeable. Everything we saw was incredible. Food was good, lodgings were great and transportation was easy.

Our guide, Neil McFarlane, was fantastic!

Our group was small and was combined with another group from Maryland. A chaperone from the other group brought his entire family a which changed the focus of the trip from a school trip to a family vacation. At one this man’s was cursing the the kids on the bus to be quiet so her kids could sleep. These trips aren’t cheap and it very disappointing to hear about some of the things that were happening on this trip!!!

Tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Bus driver was awesome. Organization and website to walk through the process was easy to use and helpful. Options and accommodations were very nice.
