Very patient and understanding
Excellent service and communication from our solicitor Dusan in all aspects of a tricky legal claim, that has been ongoing for over a year. Direct Line supported us via our home insurance legal cover and we were so pleased to have access to this legal support. The way matters have been handled by Direct Line, in all aspects, have made us loyal clients going forward and we would strongly recommend their legal cover.
In June 2019 I was involved in an accident which prompted me to invoke a personal accident claim, through my house and contents insurance company, against a third party. My insurance company referred me to DLG, as their default legal firm, to deal with the claim. Initially communication with DLG was satisfactory but as time passed communication between myself and a variety of handlers became poor to a point where no representatives of DLG responded to my emails or telephone calls. Eventually, in desperation, I sent a letter to the Complaints Manager at DLG and copied it to my current handler. Within days the Complaints Manager contacted me to apologise for the poor service and assured me that she would look into the matter. Shortly afterwards a Solicitor was appointed to deal with my claim and there was an immediate improvement in communication and action. Regrettably this Solicitor was taken ill and my claim was handed over to another Solicitor to take forward. Ms Rushi Fowle was appointed to deal specifically with my claim which initially meant reviewing the information available from the time of the accident to the present. Rushi immediately put me at ease with her calm and caring approach. I am in my 83rd year and this was the first time in my life that I had been involved with the legal business of seeking compensation for an accident. It was unknown territory. Rushi recognised this and explained the intricacies involved in my claim and patiently guided me through the process. During the time that Rushi has been involved with my case she has been professional, polite, sympathetic, considerate and made me feel that she personally cared about the outcome. She reported back speedily, kept me aware of developments and communicated effectively. I could not have wished for a better person to represent my case and would strongly recommend her to future clients. I am indebted to her for a successful outcome to my claim.

Took out a legal expenses insurance with Churchill home insurance. Their legal insurance is run by DLG Legal Services. It is not worth the paper it is written on. In fact, it is worse than nothing because you only realise this when you need help the most. They do just about everything under the sun not to cover qualifying incidents. For example, for breach of contract, they only cover the breach of those contracts signed after a policyholder taking out their policy with them. If you take out a contract a day before the starting date of your policy with DLG, Churchill, you are not covered. For them, a policy holder should have envisaged the breach of contract when they entered one. So any breach of contract occurred during the policy is not relevant but when the contract became valid. There are other ridiculous exclusions like this in their policy. Also, if there are several parties involved in the same matter, all contracts will be backdated to the one with the earliest date, i.e., a contract entered within the policy will be backdated to the one validated before the insurance policy for DLG to deny its liability under the cover. I will ditch them now for good. Good luck to DLG employees and their underwriters. DLG asked me to contact their complaint department and again it is waste of time. Their product is not fit for its purpose.

I was involved in a serious accident in June 2021 and sustained serious injuries. DLG was my insurance company and I was very impressed with the way they handled my claim and their professionalism and the speed with which it was concluded. Consequently I requested that they handled my claim for compensation. My claim was dealt with by one of their solicitor’s, Ms Elle Wan who I would highly recommend. She was at all times highly professional, caring and thorough as well as understanding and friendly. A satisfactory outcome was achieved and this was largely due to Elle
My solicitor in the end was Zareen Riaz who was very friendly and helpful in explaining the long and complicated process so that I understood what was going on. She always answered my questions and made my case a priority. Very good solicitor.

Expect them to give rubbish service and fail you. Don't communicate effectively , they ask same questions all the time and show all signs of incompetence so expect them to fail you. Rubbish service, rude staff and no sign of management taking over competently. Must be prayers they do in there as doesn't feel like they know thier job.
Despite my claim taking a much longer time than average to resolve, I was very pleased with the outcome and Martin really looked out for my best interests, keeping me updated and advised at all stages.
My queries were followed up effectively and efficiently. Always courteous, Damola explained things clearly and was very helpful, even when the other side closed the case, he made sure it was reopened.
I'd started to lose hope until Alsi took over my case and actually made things happen. Previous case handlers were inconsistent, changed too often and were generally unresponsive but Alsi completely revolutionised the process. From day one of dealing with Asli, things started to move and we were quickly able to reach a settlement that was agreeable to all parties. Asli even managed to get the DLG accounts department whipped in to shape when they were slow to pay me the money owed. Thank you Asli, you got everything moving, you were always professional, responsive, courteous, sympathetic and polite - 5 stars isn't enough for you! DLG themselves I'm not that impressed with. They seemed to lack any desire to conclude matters, the payment ended up being late, just felt like any other solicitors firm I've used really. They are the default legal firm for my insurance company so I used them as the policy covered their fees.

Totally appalling no update unprofessional no support or help then when put in complaint make up the fact as they see it if you have a policy with direct line go somewhere else as only interested in your premiums
I had always paid a small amount extra on our house insurance for Legal Protection and so decided to ask DLG Legal services to act for us in relation to the cost of unfulfilled flights, incurred during the COVID crisis. (We had at the time booked flights with a third party and not direct with the airline, which meant we needed to come to agreement with this travel company regarding credits for our cancelled journey). It has been a long, and at times frustrating, process but our solicitor, Dusan’s, patience has paid off and our claim has been successful. He has at all times been extremely prompt to answer our questions on how the legal process works, and quick to follow up with the other party who seemed intent on avoiding and delaying the process howsoever they could. We are very grateful to Dusan and to his colleagues who worked on the claim initially.
Hi my case has been going on for approximately 3 years and have been passed through different sections and case handlers. However, the last case handler/solicitor, Ms Lucy Flynn, I found to be very proactive and professional, both with her first introduction on taking on my case, advice thereafter and general information as to the progress of the case. Ms Flynn has been dedicated and has always available, be it a small query or a worrying thought. I found her to be professional and understanding. Should the need ever rise again, (I hope not), I would definitely approach Ms Flynn directly for advice.
