It was very easy to use Centauro, which I and my familiy has done for more than 15 years. During the last two years the service has overall developed and the price for full cover insurance.

Horrible experience. The only way to get there from Madrid airport is with a shuttle( badly organized) and once we got there we had to wait hours in the sun in the queue.

Alquilamos siempre en Alicante por excelente atención y precio. Nunca tuvimos problemas y siempre conformes. Hoy 08/06/2024 en aeropuerto alicante, nos han llamado para devolvernos una tablet. Nos ha encantado el gesto y la honestidad. Muchas gracias
Rented a Centauro Car from Alicante Airport through a Car Rental Agent. On arrival, they were demanding I pay an extra €149 for the weeks rental for full Insurance cover to prevent paying the €1400 deposit required for any damage. I produced my Annual Excess Insurance Policy, which they dismissed as not valid. Firstly, I was treated as a second class customer as I went through an Agent (as cost was half the price) and not directly through Centauro direct. Secondly, I was more than happy to take the €1400 deposit as I was converrd through my Excess Insurance Policy. I was treated rudely & aggressively by the staff applying pressure to take out their cover. I flatly refused, she reluctantly told me to pay the €1400 holding deposit and then refused my Credit card as it didn’t have my full name ( just initial and Surmame??) I then had to use a different credit card with my full name on. In summary, I was treated shamefully, I’ve used Centauro numerous times before, but never again!
EDIT. The reply from Centauro is to contact them on the link below. It doesn’t work surprisingly. So no way of contacting them. Dreadful service from Alicante. We arrived on a flight that was slightly late. We then waited for 2.5 hours for our car rental. We weren't the only ones, SO many frustrated people. At 11pm most of the staff left leaving one person. We eventually got our car at midnight. We had a very disabled person with us who had not a seat in sight. We managed to sit him in a cafe fairly nearby, but eventually that closed along with most of the airport. THE WORST was that we lost our accommodation whilst waiting we had a phone call from a hotel booked via booking.com who said they were shutting reception and we were left without accommodation for the night. Two pensioners and two younger people. Dreadful service. We wanted to extend the booking by four hours but they were impossible to get hold of. We tried via zest who we booked with and they couldnt help. Despite endless times trying to get through on the phone we failed miserably.
Thieves. They add insurance you don’t want and when you ask for it to be removed they tell you head office will do it and head office refuse. Damian and the manager both lied to me multiple times.

Arnaque ! J'ai réservé une voiture pour ma semaine a Corfou, la voiture est très bien pas de soucis. Le gros problème c'est que l'autorisation de prélèvement a en fait été prélevé directement, et qu'au moment de rendre la voiture je leur en ai parlé ils m'ont dit que ça allait être remboursé comme le carburant. J'ai reçu le carburant mais pas les 150€ d'autorisation de prélèvement. J'ai envoyé un mail au support qui m'a dit qu'il me contacteront dans les 12 a 14 jours, ça fait presque un mois et malgré toutes mes relances je n'ai toujours reçu aucune réponse
Disgusting company. Rented a car with them. First of all the car broke down within an hour of taking it. Second their 24 hrs assistance is absolutely shit and after 1 hour of standing on the side of a highway their tow truck hadn’t even left for our location yet. A cop threatened to give me a fine for being on side of the highway for too long and called a tow truck for us. I ended up having to pay for the tow truck AND the cab back to their office where they downgraded my car and didn’t even compensate for the downgrade. On top of this they told me multiple times that I would receive a refund for the tow truck and the cab back but I can’t even get in touch with them nor have they refunded me a single cent. It’s been 2 weeks since this incident and every time I send a query I just receive an email saying “ur query has been solved” when I haven’t even spoken to anyone. This is absolutely insane for any rental company. Edit: this company replies to every comment asking to be contacted on their customer service, but in reality the customer service is absolutely useless and you are guaranteed to not receive a reply, I have personally tried contacting at least 15-20 times to no avail.
Centauro did not make me undertake the usual threat of excess insurance that all other companies do. That made for a very good start to my holiday. The car I was given was unmarked so it was easy to return it in the same condition. Returning it was simple. I will always hire a car that is collected from the airport direct as I have had a bad experience when using a shuttle service to be driven to my hire car.
Centauro Rental is an utter disgrace! I paid for premium insurance, yet when I got a flat tire in Alghero, they refused to fix it, towed my car, and told me to pay €300 for a taxi to Olbia for a replacement, wasting 4 hours of my last holiday day. Customer service numbers are useless—called 7 times, no answer, just told to “try again.” Agents laughed at my request for taxi fare to Cagliari and mocked me when I tried to cancel my policy, saying to call the same dead number. Total scam!
Worst rental company. Paid premium insurance , when i got flat tyre they just towed my car away. Told me to get a taxi for 300 euro to next town to get another car, customer service agents in olbia disrespectful just laughing that no one answers on their customer service phone number sayin try again.
You need to do more to prevent fraudeters impersonating you on social media sites. There is no contact number to call to report fraudsters in the UK. On the rental side, we bought insurance as part of the booking process but were upsold more insurance at the time of pick up as the positioning of what we had already bought didn’t seem clear.
As an American visiting Portugal and trying to rent a car, it was quite difficult. Centauro wanted us to provide our boarding pass, even though our flight out of Portugal was not for another 5 days. So we had to contact the airline for boarding passes. We.could not find the rental agreement stating that boarding passes were required. They only had electric vehicles that are charged halfway. For our 2.5 hour drive to Porto, they said they we would need to charge the car in order to get to the destination. Upon asking how long it would taje to charge, they said about 3 hours to charge the car to full charge. They were not willing to swap out to a gas car. So we decided to cancel the reservation. Some of these rules are inefficient and are easy fixes.
Flight arrived at 12.30am and staff stayed on to make sure we had keys, even though I’d booked Smartkey, they were exceptionally helpful, past 10 hires, slightly dearer, but cars are all virtually new snd no hassles associated with some of the other major companies which I used prior to Centauro (name no names, but there’s complaints on every site about them) excellent service, can’t rate thrr Ed m highly enough.
I am pleased with all totally. Kind people, fast processing, excellent quality of the car. I am sure that next time I will choose this company again.
Experiencia muy decepcionante con la compañía. Hasta ahora, mis experiencias habían sido satisfactorias. Sin embargo, en el viaje de esta semana se presentaron varias incidencias que reflejan una clara falta de profesionalidad: El vehículo fue entregado en condiciones inaceptables, tanto en su interior como en el exterior, con una evidente falta de limpieza. Sufrí un pinchazo durante el trayecto y la gestión de la asistencia fue extremadamente lenta e ineficaz, lo cual me generó una gran pérdida de tiempo y frustración. Cometí un error en la hora de devolución del vehículo, retrasándome 4 horas, y se me aplicó un recargo de 125 euros, una penalización que considero desproporcionada.
Centuaro is basically scamming their customers. maybe not all of them but you have to be very careful. in my case they simply did not send back fuel deposit. Although I returned card with full tank I got only 24 Euro from 126 Euro deposit. their customer service is simply not working - after 2 months I did not receive a single answer to few of my e-mail request. stay away from them if you can. update: obviously I had used a link to contact form provided by Centauro and as expected 0 answer
Llevamos 6h esperando a que vengan a arreglarnos el coche después de habernos quedado tirados en la carretera en Giulianova. Seguimos sin saber si van a venir o no. No sabemos cómo van a ser nuestras vacaciones gracias a esta compañía. NUNCA MAS.
