It was very easy to use Centauro, which I and my familiy has done for more than 15 years. During the last two years the service has overall developed and the price for full cover insurance.

Horrible experience. The only way to get there from Madrid airport is with a shuttle( badly organized) and once we got there we had to wait hours in the sun in the queue.

Booked a week's rental from Centauro, Olbia airport, Sardinia, via Stress Free Car rental. It was an exceptionally good rate. I was fully aware of option for their SMART Cover insurance or to leave a credit card holding deposit of 1100€ - 1200€, the deposit being my choice. Otherwise it would have meant paying over 3 times as much as the rental for insurance. Having given my credit card and signed on a separate device, I had unwittingly signed a contract where the charge for SMART Cover Insurance - 224€ had been added! Very underhand! I had specifically said NO extra's and indeed the desk agent said no problem and no pressure! Centauro have already said I signed a contract and had the cover, however I Know I did not request this cover! I would sincerely suggest avoiding any rental bookings with Centauro, at least in Olbia and if you do, stringently double-check everything you sign and ensure it's what you agreed to! I am sure Centauro will again state a contract was signed, I would state signed without my knowledge that SMART Cover had been added before asking me to sign on a separate device!
Office Alicante: Super lange gewartet (1Stunde), dann sehr aggressives upsell eines unnötigen Versicherungspakets. Dann ging meine Kreditkarte nicht und es wurde weder meine 2. Karte von Amex akzeptiert, noch eine andere Zahlungsoption, noch irgendetwas. Am Ende ging EC Karte, aber nur wenn ich das völlig überteuerte Versicherungspaket kaufe - technisch ging es anscheinend - war nur eine Sache des Wollens. Am Ende den 3 fachen Preis bezahlt. Nie wieder - Finder weg von dem Anbieter.
Worst experience ever, I made the reservation of car and payment almost rwo months before trip, pickup location Bergamo airport. We landed a few minutes later so we missed our pick-up time for about 2-3 minutes and that was 11pm and maybe 5 min. Before I saw that we will be late few minutes I started calling the rental agency number since 7 pm and nobody was answering. When we been on the parking at 11pm with a small baby and thay could know that we are with a baby because we asked for baby car seat I called for the 100 time the contact and put the numbers like I had the accident and only thet somebody picked the phone then was already 11:25 and the guy on the phone was very rude and unhelpful didn't show any simpathy that we are with a baby on the airport on foreign country only hos answer was the working ours are past I offered to pay extra even that didn't helped to give us the car that we already payed even if they have as an option dor extra fee to pickup car after working hours. Very bad way of doing busines because they didn't once tried to contact me to see are we arriving and in what time. Very bad agency

Abzocke Bei der Anmietung wurde uns eine Zusatzversicherung als Kautionshinterlegung erklärt. Auch mussten wir den Vertrag elektronisch unterzeichnen ohne den Vertrag vorher prüfen zu können. Man sagte uns, der Vertrag wird per email zugestellt. Glückwunsch der Dame am Counter für Ihre Provision ☹️

Carro entregue diferente da Categoria contratado. Categoria contratada F4 entregue categoria F1. Resposta como foi reserva de agência, se o cliente não quiser o carro devolvemos o dinheiro e que alugue noutra rent a car. A colega foi simpática e tentou sempre ajudar…
Ho preso a noleggio una macchina a rodi. Al rientro per un graffietto di pochissimi centimetri sul paraurti, che nemmeno so se c'era in origine perché talmente piccolo che non l'ho notato fino a che non me lo hanno detto loro, mi hanno addebitato 300 euro. La loro logica è che ti addebitano intero pezzo, testuali parole loro al rientro: se hai un graffio a una portiera cambiano intera portiera e costa più di mille euro.
We have used this company for a few years and have always looked after our cars. We take a video before and after with photos. On the latest hire, they charged us over €500 with the word ‘alloy’ on the explanation sheet. We hadn’t damaged the car so asked them for an explanation on numerous occasions, they didn’t come up with one so we involved our credit card company who did the same. We have had the letter to confirm the full refund today. Be careful, after being stung we checked and it seems they do it regularly
Nos ha ido genial con esta compañía, que contratamos a través de BOOKING. El coche estaba impecable, nuevecito y superior a la categoría contratada. El día de devolución, la fianza estaba desbloqueada desde primera hora. Tardamos escasos minutos en entregarlo y sobre la marcha nos devolvieron el precio del tanque de gasolina. No le doy las 5 estrellas porque la recogida fue muy lenta, estuvimos esperando algo mas de una hora para recoger el vehículo, con una chica sola en el mostrador para entrega y recogida.
My experience with Centauro was a complete rip-off. They charged me €1,200 for minor damage: €600 for a scratch on one wheel and €600 for a tire cut —which I had already replaced at my own expense!! (I returned the car with new tires and even brought the old ones back!). The Lisbon office staff treated me with arrogance, even laughing at me when I questioned the absurd charges. No clear documentation or proof of damage! Their fees are 10x the actual repair cost!!! Portugal has far better rental companies with fair policies. DO NOT RISK IT—CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY! this reply from Centauro is useless - link leads to a form that has only autoreply. I tried all option there to reach a person - no reply. Once you return the car - you wont be able to reach them via email or phone
The worst condition car I have ever had, and I have rented lots of cars. But that doesn’t really matter as long as you take a good video of everything. The overall experience was fine but the reason for a 1 star review and never using them again is the hidden fuel charge/deposit. I booked a full/full car however they wanted a €116 deposit for the fuel. But they actually charged my credit card for this deposit. This essentially means that can take extra money from most customers. If they take €116 from 50 customers a day, that 5,800 and they do that everyday for a week (5 days) they have an additional income of 29,000. It’s definitely a dodgy practice and when there are other rental companies to choose then this one should be avoided.
Everything was perfect, size of the car exactly like expected

Prezados, No dia 07.04.25 aluguei um veículo com a Centauro para retirada em Lisboa e devolução em Faro. No entanto, fui surpreendida no momento da retirada com a informação de que seria cobrada uma taxa adicional de 170 euros por devolução em outra cidade. Essa taxa não foi informada no momento da reserva, nem constava nos detalhes enviados por e-mail ou no site. A comunicação só ocorreu no balcão, no momento da retirada do carro — quando já não havia tempo hábil para contestar ou buscar alternativas. Entendo que taxas de trajeto único são comuns, mas elas devem ser claramente informadas com antecedência, de forma transparente e acessível. Cobranças surpresa como essa configuram omissão de informação essencial, contrariando os princípios do Código de Defesa do Consumidor da União Europeia.
A coloro che devono noleggiare un auto, occhio prima di toccare la macchina che ti consegnano devi fare alla stessa una Tac. Per non essermi accorto di un Micro ma micro micro scalfitura non provocata da Me o meglio non accaduto durante il periodo di noleggio. La vettura una pandina color blu Italia durante il periodo è rimasta parcheggiata in area privata parcheggia a spina di pesce, avrei accettato più dei graffi nelle fiancate non sportellate ma graffi perché in entrambi i lati ci sono parcheggiati scuter. Premetto non sono solito noleggiare vetture quindi lo riconosco sono stato ingenuo a non fare un controllo con il supporto della scientifica e la conseguenza è che la compagnia mi fotte 350€ + 200€ per il noleggio di una settimana + 66€ di cauzione benzina riportata Al giusto livello (spero che almeno queste mi vengano rimborsate) totale 616€ per una panda senza avere colpe. Spero che il ragazzo che era in servizio il 12/06/2025 h 07:30 nell'agenzia centauro via Appia ciampino abbia trovato la farmacia aperta.
Easyjet outsourced the car hire to Etrawler who then outsourced to Centauro who did not turn up. We waited outside the airport with an 18 month old at 11pm waiting for a lift that never arrived. We asked the single easyjet representative 2x where they were and were only ever told to stand by waiting point A. Never did they try to contact or chase up the rental vehicle and took no ownership that they were the provider of the holiday. They then disappeared and we were left stranded at midnight with a baby. Not impressed Not booking through easyjet or centauro again Not recommended
