It was very easy to use Centauro, which I and my familiy has done for more than 15 years. During the last two years the service has overall developed and the price for full cover insurance.

Horrible experience. The only way to get there from Madrid airport is with a shuttle( badly organized) and once we got there we had to wait hours in the sun in the queue.

Excellent customer service at Alicante airport.Professional but with a smile! It was my first rental with Centauro and I will definitely return.
Additional Fees!!! We flew into Lisbon Portugal from Dubai, but needed to get from Lisbon to Faro on the Algarve. We rented a car from Centauro and requested a 3008. We paid €77 and great booked it - we went to pick it up and then had to pay an additional €170 because we were dropping it off at their depo in Faro. A drop off fee. Plus an additional €29 because my wife was going to drive - we had to pay an additional holding deposit of €129 just in case we didn't fill the tank up before dropping it off. It will apparently be refunded over the coming days - yeah right! Then got in the car and the tank was not full - it was half a quarter of a tank short of being full. I got out walked back into the office with a photo of the tank and they made a note of the level. Over all it cost a fortune, additional costs and bonds all over the place. It turned out we could have probably Uber’s and got out of it with €5.00 change on what the car hire has cost . Never again.
Unfortunately i had to change the size of my car to a bigger one that they did not have. So i had to cancel and book with another company. This is all good so far and their online service great including ability to cancel up to 24 hours before. However when you cancel you receive an email that is a "coupon / voucher" This is not a refund. You have to call by telephone, in my case from abroad in order to get that changed to a refund. This cannot be done on their web site or by email, so is a pain. I give 4 as the price and online booking was great at 5. but cancellation process is a 1. took me half an hour to make it happen. Unusual situation i know. So Centauro if you read this please improve this small but important point
La primera vez que utilicé el servicio me dieron un coche que apestaba a tabaco. No dije nada por no molestar y luego me cobraron la limpieza extra. Después de mucho insistir me devolvieron el dinero. Hoy voy a recoger un coche reservado por Mutua Madrileña y para mi sorpresa me han bloqueado el usuario y justo desde la fecha de mii última queja. CASUALIDAD??? Poca empatía por parte del personal de tienda de la calle Trespaderne 16, Madrid. No ofrecen ninguna solución ni tampoco en atención al usuario. Gracias por la respuesta Centauro pero desde el día 11 de junio sigo esperando la respuesta de Atención al Cliente.🤷♀️

Schade! Wir haben bereits das 5. mal ein Auto über Centauro in Mallorca gemietet. Soweit waren wir immer zufrieden. Ja, es wird einem immer versucht eine Versicherung auszureden, aber diese haben wir sofort abgelehnt. Aber dieses Mal waren wir sehr enttäuscht. Wir hatten keinen Unfall oder Vorfall. Aber bei der Rückgabe lief die Frau direkt zu einer Stelle und meinte da sei ein Kratzer (der kaum sichtbar war) und stelle ohne Rücksprache eine Rechnung von 270€. Sie lies nicht mit sich reden und lief am Ende einfach davon! Wirklich super dreist. Das war unser letztes Mal mit Centauro.
I have used Centauro on numerous occasions over past and recent visits to Spain. Always very helpful staff, quality vehicles and an easy to follow booking system. Highly recommended
No deposit, no extra fees for insurance, no bullshit. I really rate this company much higher then previous experiences. Very friendly staff too in Murcia. Had a small scratch on the front of the car but they told me it was part of my insurance (which again, didn't cost me any extra money). TL;DR: Cheaper pricing, no extra additional deposit fees, very competent service, much better then competition.
Achtung bei Centauro Athen – teuer, unorganisiert, null Kundenservice. Wir kamen durch Flugverspätung verspätet, aber dennoch im Rahmen der Öffnungszeiten um 22:15 Uhr in der Ankunftshalle des Flughafens an – niemand wartete wie versprochen. Über 1 Stunde standen wir im strömenden Regen, bevor endlich der Shuttle kam. Dann wurde uns eine 40 € Late Fee berechnet, obwohl Centauro das selbst verursacht hatte. Zusätzlich wurde uns eine 174 € Versicherung aufgezwungen, weil wir auf eine Fähre wollten. Nach Fahrzeugübernahme saßen wir über 4 Stunden auf dem abgeschlossenen Gelände fest – niemand erreichbar. Bei Rückgabe wieder 40 Min. auf Shuttle gewartet – fast Flug verpasst. Absolut chaotisch, unprofessionell und kundenfeindlich. Reklamation bei CHECK24 wurde ignoriert. Nie wieder Centauro.
A very reliable car hire company. Don´t even think about other at Alicante airport. I did it twice and regret because they scam you if you don´t pay the full insurance. Been using Centauro for 14 years except to times, and will continue because of quick check in and check out. Refundes the gas bill within 24 hours etc etc.
I recently rented a car at Corfu airport for my 5-day holiday. When I picked up the car I did the usual vehicle checks and took photos of the car. I picked up numerous scrapes, dents and scratches to the car which I took photos of and communicated to staff. Despite this, the initial damage report was not amended and left blank. Some of this damage was obvious and would've been picked up upon their inspection from the last rental. I found this practice incredibly dishonest and put in place to catch out the next rental customer, deliberately leaving the report blank, despite knowing about the damage (and no doubt charging the last customer for it!). Roll forward 5 days, a staff member found a scratch underneath the bumper, not far from other bumper damage that I took a picture off. As I did not take pictures underneath the bumper, they charged me €350 damage. When I raised this with the employee and asked to file a formal complaint, the staff member on duty became aggressive and dismissive. I requested his name and asked to speak with a manager; both requests were refused. He told me I was “only a customer, a civilian” and that I would need to “call the police” if I wished to escalate the matter. This behaviour was hostile, intimidating, and wholly unacceptable in a professional setting. Following my trip I filed a complaint with the Company. Two weeks have gone by and I haven't received response. DO NOT USE!
Always god service with Centauro but now better In/outcheck was faster than early years But be observant when you pick up the car Persons try to disturb you with the intension to steal the luggage
Achtung Abzocke!!! Sie wenden alle Tricks an, um Sie dazu zu bringen, die Vollkaskoversicherung zu bezahlen, die mehr kostet als die Miete. Ich sagte der Mitarbeiterin, dass ich die Vollkaskoversicherung abgeschlossen habe, die ich bereits bezahlt hatte, aber dann schrieb er ein paar Zahlen auf das Papier und sagte, das sei für den Kraftstoff, Sie bekommen das Geld zurück, wenn Sie das Auto zurückgeben, und ich fragte speziell, wie diese Zahlen lauten und warum ich keine Kaution hinterlegen kann. Er versuchte die Antwort zu vermeiden, sagte nur, dass wir das Geld wiederbekommen, wenn Sie das Auto zurückgeben, und als ich bezahlte und die Quittung/Rechnung bekam ich nach dem ich das Auto schon hatte, später per Mail. Dort stand, dass der Treibstoff 54,50 € kostete und Smart Cover 261 € (ihre Vollkaskoversicherung) kostet, was mein Nachteil ist, wenn ich bezahle, ohne genau zu wissen, wie hoch diese Beträge sind. Nachdem ich aus dem Urlaub wieder da war, kontaktierte ich die Firma noch einmal per Mail. Ich wurde mit einer sinnlosen Antwort abgespeist. Mein Tipp: Finger weg von solchen Firmen!! Es ist eindeutig Abzocke. Mein Geld ist futsch, ich kann nur weitere Touristen warnen hier zu buchen! Fair geht anders. Ich bin im Jahr viel im Ausland unterwegs und weiß es gibt Firmen (Autovermieter) bei denen läuft es fair ab.
Prenotato noleggio mentre si acquistava biglietto nel sito Ryanair, quindi un pagamento unico alla fine per 3 biglietti andata e ritorno più noleggio auto. Al ritiro del auto avevamo nr. di prenotazione CENTAURO e nr. di riferimento pratica RYANAIR e nonostante ciò, ci ha detto che non accettava american express. In realtà noi non dovevamo pagare NULLA perché era già tutto pagato il noleggio assieme ai biglietti. Insomma alla fine per ritirare l'auto ci ha fatto pagare un assicurazione a parte di 140 euro che senza di essa non potevamo ritirare l'autovettura. Alla fine, la promo noleggio CENTAURO che si trova nel contesto prima di concludere l'acquisto dei biglietti aereo E MOLTO ABIGUA e la sorpresa è che se avessimo noleggiato senza RYANAIR direttamente in aeroporto si spendeva meno.

Good evening, I find the behavior of Centauro staff at the Santorini airport agency unacceptable. After refusing the 80 euro insurance, because I had already taken it out with Discover Cars the employee began to engage in psychological terrorism, saying that the Discover cars insurance was not complete and that if I found damage in a parking lot, the insurance would not pay. I took the car, afraid that what the employee told me was true, but then I received insurance from Discover cars that was false and that I would have been reimbursed even in the absence of the driver of the other car. I understand that the Greek employees of Centauro want to make a good impression on the Centauro Company and that the Company wants to grow and increase its turnover, but the psychological terrorism performed by employees when picking up a car is counterproductive for Centauro and is a truly unfair operation.
Please avoid this company, there is a reason that their deals are so cheap! Zaragoza - once I left the city, I was charged around €900 for damage that they have claimed I did to the car. This is despite me having videos of the car before and after using. They are refusing to send the original photos of the ‘damage’ to the car. They also charged me around €100 for a fuel deposit even though I returned the car completely full with petrol! Message to Centauro - do not reply to this telling me to contact your customer service, which only has an email to contact with a 1 week response time
Onbegrijpelijk dat dit fenomeen telkens nog de kop op blijft steken, zie eerdere reviews van derden.. Via Doyouspain.com een auto gehuurd al inclusief een extra verzekering bij Centauro Alicante. Bij de afhaling wordt er zonder te melden en ongevraagd nog eens een extra verzekering van 116,00 euro bijgevoegd. We kregen geen papieren contract mee, want deze zou direct per mail volgen, maar u raadt het al.. geen mail. Nadat wij de auto met volle tank terug gebracht hadden, werd ons verzekerd dat de complete creditcard-borg van 250 euro teruggestort zou worden, maar helaas.. Doyouspain.com heeft mij pas op 02-06-2025 een kopie van het contract gemaild, maar verschuilt zich vervolgens achter Centauro. Inmiddels al meer dan 10 keer met Centauro gebeld, maar telkens wordt de verbinding na een wachttijd van ca 5 min automatisch verbroken. Waar, door wie en waarom dit nog steeds zo vaak fout blijft gaan, is mij onduidelijk. Centauro degradeert zich met deze oplichtingspraktijken tot een louche locaal verhuurbedrijfje.. jammer, maar voor mij geen Centauro meer En tot op heden nog steeds niks vernomen van Centauro…
