OK. Booked online and paid online for a ticket for my wife. received a confirmation on screen and via email that the ticket had been booked ( I have the payment receipt). A few hours later I notice another email stating the booking had been declined as the "payment didn't go through" but I could try again online. The price had since gone up $100. I called them and they gave some vague excuse that the airline had canceled the booking - what is that? They wouldn't let me book over the phone at the rate I had a confirmation for and said I would have to go back online. Meaning pay the higher price.
On top of that, in the small print they state "if we don't get a response your booking will get canceled and the bank will release and credit the amount back to your account in 5 - 7 business days, or at an earlier time frame depending on your bank." - so they are potentially holding on to my money.
When checking their emails, their link text states
bestpricetravel.com.au but it links through to a different website pricebeattravel.com.au - which has terrible reviews. I may not get my money back.
If the company tries to reply that they can't find any reference to my booking, here is the reference "PTB164079" under my wife's name.
EDIT:
After my complaint, the travel agent offered me the ticket at the original price. This came after about 2 weeks, in which time, I had already re-booked the flight.
