Rosheen. Very helpful.

I spoke to Rosheen today because I hadn’t correctly activated my groupon voucher code for my breakdown cover. She was really helpful and reassuring and guided me through the process, responding very quickly and clearly. She was excellent and I am now confident that I have the cover I bought. Thank you Rosheen.

Excellent Customer Service from Chloe

Unfortunately I had to cancel my new policy, due to an issue with the age of my car so emailed Customer Services, who responded in a very timely manner. I dealt with Chloe and even though when she picked up the first email from me on a day off, she still made me aware she had picked it up and would keep me updated, which she did. The whole process with her, whilst also simultaneously dealing with Groupon was slick and it was a real pleasure to deal with somebody who kept you informed throughout the process and whose communication skills and customer service were exemplary. Thanks Chloe.

Quite shocking,was charged £45 told…

Quite shocking, was charged £45 told 90minutes for recovery & after 2hrs phoned back only to be told they had been delayed & were sending another breakdown company.Would you not have thought there system would have flagged up that the 90minutes had expired & for them to contact me rather than me call them.45 minutes later the other company turned up after I had been told they were coming from 10 miles away which turned out a lie as the driver had been heading back from Bradford when he got the call,so in all over 3 hrs after I originally called. They tell you things that aren't true & charge you 45 pound for the privilege. Will not be going with this company again,I suppose you get what you pay for.Green flag or RAC may be a bit more expensive but you won't get ripped off when you break down.

This is not real breakdown cover!

If you want breakdown cover do NOT choose this company. I’ve noticed it seems the only positive reviews are from people who have not actually broken down! Anyone who has actually needed their help seems to have left a poor review! My son broke down this weekend with engine failure, called besmart to arrange recovery to be told his fault wasn’t covered, they advised that he should have read the terms and conditions. I don’t know which term or condition says that engine failure isn’t covered, or how they can say it isn’t covered without even looking at the car! But, a car that has broken down at the side of a dual carriageway is surely covered by the most basic breakdown cover, I would not recommend anyone to take out this cover, as there’s a good chance you won’t be covered when you need it most, please please spend a little more and get real breakdown cover from one of the known names, who normally can’t be more helpful! Added this due to their response - The car did not have a hole in the engine, my son is not a mechanic so how could he diagnose the problem with a broken down car??? The car started smoking badly (a lot of smoke!) so he stopped driving and called you for recovery, you refused so he had to pay for recovery. It’s now been fixed, it was a failed turbo. Garage said you would have only known it was failing when it starts smoking. Please please do not waste a penny on this cover, as it will leave you stranded on the side of the road!

Cancelled a policy with this company…

Cancelled a policy with this company and waited 14days for a refund that didn't arrive, I phoned them today to be told that the policy had been cancelled but they hadn't bothered to action the refund and it will take a further 10 days to process, that's unacceptable practise. If I hadn't called today they would have kept the money... easier money than providing breakdown insurance. So be warned, if you use this company and cancel because they don't inform you of changes to your policy, make sure they don't keep your money! Update! Thanks for the reply Adam but if it's not about the profit, why put untrained staff in a front line position. P.S I am still waiting for my refund! Update! Finally got my overdue refund thanks only to an excellent member of staff, Milly was brilliant, sorted very quickly and very professionally. I would proud to have a rep like Milly in my company. Thanks again Milly!

Unacceptable mis-selling.

They were told the age and make from the start and this is recorded in my documentation. My advice: BeSmart and look elsewhere. I would give them full marks for creation of reasons to do nothing other than take your money. The response from BeSmart does not accurately reflect the history; in 2021 I was NOT asked for a contribution towards repair costs, they wanted a sum up front before they would look at it, that was what I declined given the summary of cover shown to me. In the event the boiler makers representative effected the repair, unfortunately the same fault has recurred. That is an electronic component within the control computer! I have worked around this by re-booting the controls at regular intervals. I now quote directly from BeSmarts closing reply to me: The reason we would decline this is because your policy is for home emergencies only, you advised on the most recent call to our agent that you have a fix, albeit a temporary one, however under the terms of the policy you have taken out we would class an emergency as someone without heating and hot water eg whereby the boiler had completely failed and was not able to produce any heating or hot water. I have also looked at your policy and can see you choose not to add non-emergency cover at the time of sign up. This would be classed as a non emergency and therefore we would not look to cover this claim as it falls within the terms outlined above. I should also highlight the following under the attached terms Beyond Economical Repair (BER) – In the opinion of our approved engineer, We are unable to repair Your boiler or, after an engineer appointed by Us has attended and diagnosed the problem We will calculate the total cost of repair including parts and labour (including of VAT) required to repair the boiler or appliance by Us using reputable suppliers. For boilers and appliances that are 11 years old or more, if the total cost of the repair exceeds 20% of the current retail price (including VAT) of a suitable replacement boiler, through leading UK suppliers, it will be deemed to be beyond economical repair, and We will be unable to complete the repair. If We deem Your boiler or appliance to be Beyond Economical Repair, We will advise You that You require a new boiler or appliance but no contribution will be made In short, due to the age of the boiler if it were to break down as described above it is extremely likely our engineer would deem the boiler BER due to the age of the boiler and no contribution would be made. This is not the case currently, as the boiler just needs a non emergency repair which is something you are not covered for, however should it break down in such a way I feel we should make you aware of the above terms as no assistance will be provided and any future claims declined. Please note that BeSmart were aware of the make, model and age of my boiler when the policy was taken out, given the above statements I feel that they should have refused to cover it from the outset - and not taken several hundreds of pounds paid by monthly Direct Debit.

They deserve zero star

They deserve zero star. I had a flat tyre last night and i called them for assistance as i had a premium membership with them but they told me flat tyre is not covered under my membership. I told them its mentioned on my policy document that puncture is included but they kept saying they cant see on the system. When i raised a complaint with them then they agreed oh yes its covered under clause 8. It took them 12 hours to admit its covered by then i had already repaired the punctured tyre independently. There are useless dont waste your money with them

Great price - hope the serv ice is good.

I bought this membership via Groupon at a very attractive price. There was some recycling with Be Smart when redeeming the voucher but all set up now. I cannot comment on the service as I have not used as yet.

Long live RAC

What a joke, been driving for many years and used many recovery company’s, never had I had such a bad experience. Bit of advice, don’t cut corners with company’s on price. Value for money isn’t always about the cost. Do your research before purchasing. Big shout out to RAC ;-) Today at 7.30am I rang this company to arrange a recovery for my wife, I was at work and she’s not confident changing a wheel. Her car had a puncture which may of been caused by a pot hole, let me make clear, her car had both a spare wheel and the tyre Weald spray, If they had these missing the terms states it would be excluded. Any way confident this could be fixed or recovered I called them a lady on the phone answered after 15 or so minutes, she explained as my car has now turned older than 10 years I would need to pay an additional excess of £45.00 which I did. She asked what the brake down was so I explained, they checked information then said they could be up to a hour. At this time I wasn’t to happy but it is what it is, however it soon went from a hour to a hour and half, I called to get escalated, they informed me shouldn’t be much longer. However another hour passed and still nothing then my phone rang, it was this company explaining they wouldn’t be able to come out as their was a chance the puncture was caused by a small hole in the road. Tbh I feel this was a knee jerk response as they had no one in the area. I asked for my excess back and expressed how I felt. I then read back through my terms and feel they was in the wrong. It was a puncture and the car had the correct items to fix as per terms….. However luckily this lovely RAC man stopped as saw her stranded in the rain, spent 5 mins to fix the puncture with temp tyre Weald and showed us a nail in the tyre. Any it cost nothing!!!! Well no guessing who I’ll be choosing next time.

The process of taking out the cover was very easy

The process of taking out the cover was easy. I haven't had to use it yet and hope that I don't have to but if I do that it will also be good.

had a tyre blow out on the M25

had a tyre blow out on the M25 I had a tyre blow out on the M25 . Thought my vehicle was covered. No , clause 8 in small print says if you don’t carry a spare tyre or are able to inflate with aerosol you are not covered. In other words this is useless service for most modern cars that don’t carry spare tyres. Absolute waste of money Besmart have tried to get Trust Pilot to take this review down. Have I touched a raw nerve. My review is an honest version of events and if they really want to contest it I will happily appear in any court
