Car in appalling condition. Missed taking photo of one out of many small scratches and got charged 250 euros for it. Absolute scam. The front bumper was virtually hanging off. Wouldn’t use again.

SCAMMERS! - Sarajevo airport branch We rented a car in June for five days, all seemed well and we handed the car back as planned at the airport. The worker checked our car over, confirmed their was no damage, signed our sheets and we left. Nearly four weeks later I received a WhatsApp from the company saying they are going to charge me €700 for two different areas of damage. They send photos of scratches - It may not even be the same car as it just shows a blue panel. They say that the car was washed the next day and they found damage and that there is a small print clause in the contract stating they will charge you if damage is found after the wash (basically invalidating your sign in sheet). The damage they are accusing would clearly have been noticed even without a wash. Even if the damage is to the same car, the car was left in a busy airport car park for 24hrs before it was found, any damages could have been done by someone else. The staff have acknowledged that this is true and they cannot say for certain we caused it but say they have no one else to charge. I have tried disputing it and contacting my bank but I have found today that the money has been taken from my account. We are now having to go through a legal process to get the money back. Absolute scam artists, do not trust them. There is a reason they are cheap, they will just recoup more money from you at a later date. STAY AWAY!!!
Absolutely shocking. Car broke down after 24 hours, no access to anyone. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. They left me and my young family ( 2 small children) high and dry and we lost so much money on future bookings we already had in place. The people we spoke to were in Greece and could do nothing. Absolute abomination !!

The car advertised and pictured was not as old as the car we were provided. The pictures show a newer model Skoda Octavia station wagon, and we were provided with a vehicle which was over 10 years old (as shown on the registration documents) with 156,000km on the odometer. This is false advertising as far I am concerned, and I presume illegal. This was just the start, as shortly into our trip, the air-conditioner stopped working. This was during extreme heat in Greece and we were on a 2.5 hour drive to Patras with 5 of us in the car. Not wanting the inconvenience of driving back to Athens we continued with all the windows open in about 35 degrees heat. In Patras they agreed to swop the vehicle at our hotel, and I emphasised to them that I needed the same size of vehicle as we had a lot of luggage and 5 people in the car. The following morning a very helpful chap arrived with a Seat Arona which unfortunately had a fraction of the boot space of the Skoda Octavia station wagon, despite my previous requests. At Preveza airport there was no mention that Auto Union was located just under a kilometre from the airport without any signage to indicate this. Luckily the other rental companies could direct me and the staff member at the depot did drive me back to the airport. I would never use Auto Union again, and I don’t think anyone else should take the risk of using them either. There are special companies that rent 10 year+ aged cars and Auto Union do not advertise to be one of these companies. The cars pictures appear to be like Avis, Europcar and Sixt, but they are not. The Images are false.
Turned up a Vienna airport. No signage. Rang a number five times before someone picked up. Shuttle from airport hotel to location ten minutes away. Demanded a credit card, took 1200 euro deposit and charged 50 euros to cross any border no disclosure of fees. Car had 40k kms on the clock and petrol only 60% full. Never again
We reserved a car with them, when we arrived to pick it up they told us that we needed a credit card (debit cards are not useful, except for charging). Since we don't have one, they gave us a phone number where no one answers. We have written emails that we have read from other negative reviews to request a refund of the reservation amount and they do not respond. Never rent with them, they are THIEVES!
Auto union dubai fanno truffe, mai più ricevuto il deposito. Ma credo che debbano chiudere i battenti a dubai, ho informato la polizia e li non scherzano.
I booked my car in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina long time ago via Discover for June 24 to July 10 and unfortunately choose Union even I have had other companies with same rental conditions. When we arrived at airport location agent immediately complained we are early 1/2 hour (even on agreement was flight number and time of arrivals) and we have to wait because car was not ready yet. At that time was very hot on the airport parking lot. OK but in the meantime another customer arrived and she wanted to return the car but because parking was full she asked him to come out and help her. He got out with water spray bottle and clothe. He started spraying her car and drying it looking for small scratches doing that slowly and talking some nonsense. At the end I was so frustrated I cancelled my reservation and rented car with other company and because now is full season I have to pay much more than initially. But to drive a car and think about some small scratches or stone chips and get charged for that ... no thank you.
Absolutely appalling will never use again we were charged for a stone chip on the windscreen 890 euros something that can easily be filled in. I asked to see an invoice / quotation for this and they just said it’s what the garage told them on the phone. They were arguing with myself who is 34 weeks pregnant very stressed and have made us miss our flights due to keeping us there with no transportation to the airport until we paid the money without any proof of this quotation!! We have now had to pay out again for return flights as I have hospital appointments to attend to for my baby which I told them numerous times but they honestly didn’t care at all!!
Absolutely disgusted in the way they treated my pregnant girlfriend. They demanded €890 for a tiny chip in the window which wasn’t even our fault. They gave us the wrong car to begin with. They even made us miss our flight costing another £500 as they would not let us leave without paying!! We are literally sitting on the airport now and my girlfriend will miss all her baby appointments tomorrow 😔 they really didn’t care at all!! I’m soo ashamed some humans can be this way.
Wir haben über Sunny Cars ein Suzuki Alto gemietet. Obwohl in den Buchungsunterlagen ausdrücklich gestanden ist, dass keine Debitkarte - trotz Kredirkartenfunktion - nicht erlaubt ist, verlief die Abwicklung reibungslos. Die Dame kam uns netterweise entgegen und verlangte als Sicherheit statt € 200,- Kaution, € 300,- Kaution in bar (da keine Abbuchung von der Debitkarte) möglich. Wir fanden das einen sehr guten Kompromiss. Wir sind sehr froh, dass dies alles super gut geklappt hat. Auto hat uns problemlos an alle unsere Ziele gebracht. Auto wurde vom Hotel abgeholt. Die Kaution haben wir ohne Probleme zurückerhalten. Kleines aber super feines Auto mit ein paar Schönheitsfehlern. Wir empfehlen Auto Union wärmstens weiter!
They are the worst one , They try all the time to cgarge you more. At the end the charge from my deposit 150€ more cause of some reason that they weren’t true. Never again i’ll do action again them. Please be careful never trust them .
Car was good, but it was dirty and with 3/4 of fuel, important to Marion that I bolt a category of I-20 (hatch) I get a sedan (Tipo). The communication before the reservation by email was very good and clear. At the day not so much, I had doubts about cross border that wasn’t clear. Overall: 3/5
J'ai effectué une réservation via Booking ref 8691719 du 11 au 15/06/24. Sur le site la location commençait à 11h30 le 11 et prenait fin le 15 a la même heure, mais il était précisé que si on avait du retard il fallait indiquer le numéro de vol ce que j'ai fait car mon vol arrivait à Corfou a 17h. Je me suis débrouillée pour trouver l'agence car aucune attente a l'aéroport. Sur place le Mr m'a fait comprendre que il n'y avait plus de véhicule car ma location débutait a 11h30 et que je ne me suis pas présentée. Je ne parle malheureusement pas anglais mais avec un peu d'italien et par écrit nous nous sommes compris. Je lui ai montré le coup avec le numéro de vol en cas du retard et il m'a dit qu'on allait trouver une solution. J'ai attendu, des clients ont rapporté une voiture, sans la nettoyer me l'a donné à moi. Au moment de la signature du contrat il me dit qu'il fallait la ramener le 15 juin a 11h30. Je lui ai fait comprendre qu'il était 18h passé et qu je perdais une journée de location. Il a pris le contrat et a la place de 11h a griffonné 17 en transformant le deuxième 1 en 7 . Comment je n'étais pas sûre de ce qu'il avait écrit au verso de la page j'ai marqué un 17 pour qu'il me confirme qu'on c'est bien compris. Le 15 a midi je reçois a deux reprises un appel de l'agence d'une femme qui hurlait au téléphone elle parlait anglais et grec, je ne comprenais pas grand chose. Je crois qu'elle disait que je n'avais pas ramené la voiture. J'ai essayé de lui expliquer que c'était une erreur et que son collègue a marqué 17h . Elle a raccroché. Comment j'étais inquiète je lui ai envoyé un message en anglais en me servant d'un traducteur pour lui expliquer la situation, on ne m'a jamais répondu. A 16h25 quand je suis arrivée avec la voiture on m'a ignoré au départ. J'ai aperçu le Mr. qui m'avait loué la voiture et je l'ai sollicité. Il c'est montré très désagréable limite agressif.Il est venu, il n'a même pas fait le tour de la voiture et il c'est mis a crier qu'il manquait une ligne d'essence et que ça allait me coûter 10€. Je me suis excusée en disant que je n'avais pas bien vu et que j'allais payer. Je lui ai fait part des coups de fil que j'avais reçu dans la journée et il a répondu que j'ai refusé de ramener la voiture et qu'ils allaient encaisser la caution. Je lui ai montré le contrat avec son écriture et il a nié en bloc en disant que ce n'est pas lui , que ce n'était pas son écriture il m'a montré comment il écrivait le 7. Je lui ai montré le verso du contrat ou j'avais marqué le 17 il devenait de plus en plus agressif. Je l'ai suivi dans le bureau et la le collègue a commencé à s'en mêler. Un cauchemar ! Ils m'hurlaient dessus, ils menaçait ! Ils me demandait de payer 50 € en espèces pour le retard de la voiture et 15 EUR pour l'essence au lieu de 10 du départ. J'avais sûr moi exactement 64,70€ en espèces et j'ai voulu payer par carte. Un jeune homme qui travaille las bas également, ma écrit avec un traducteur que si je payé par carte j'allais avoir 22% de commission et qu'il fallait mieux payer en espèces. C'était incroyable, ils criait, ils me menaçait d'encaisser la caution si je ne payais pas. Je leur ai dit que j'allais ratter l'avion, ils avaient répondu que ce n'était pas leur problème que je devais payer. Je leur ai dit de prendre tout l'espèce que j'avais, qu'il manquait que quelques centimètres. Ils ont fini par accepter car j'étais mal j'avais les mains qui tremblaient. J'ai demandé une facture ils ont dit qu'il n' y avait pas de facture qu'il fallait la demander au siège. J'ai vécu une chose horrible, ce n'était même pas la question de l'argent mais l'agressivité des 2 messieurs. Il y avait une femme et un jeune, qui travaillent las bas aussi mais ils sont sortis au moment du scandale comme si ils ne voulaient pas y assister.C'est la que j'ai eu vraiment peur quand je suis restée seule avec les deux gars . A la fin le plus grand m'a demandé de monter dans le mini bus pour qu'il me conduise a l'aéroport, j'étais terrorisée, j'ai refusé de monter évidemment ! Je ne m'en suis toujours pas remise de cet incident. J'ai vécu quelque chose d'affreux, je crois qu'ils on profité du fait que j'étais seule.

All'arrivo a Zante ci hanno comunicato che la nostra auto si trovava all'aeroporto di Arexos - altra isola. Prenotato tramite booking: non mi aspetto certo che se prenoto un hotel a Zante l'offerta di car rental sia con il ritiro su un'altra isola!!! Ahimè è successo. Ma la contestazione è soprattutto verso il personale al desk che sono state molto scortesi, non hanno voluto contattare la sede di Arexos e supportarci a trovare un'eventuale soluzione. Soprattutto la responsabile parlava in greco in modo sgarbato con la collega che traduceva in inglese. Non ci è restato che noleggiare una seconda auto con costi elevati e con modalità di consegna del tutto discutibile. Servizio pessimo. Col senno di poi avremmo dovuto recarci ad uno dei car rental di fianco ai vostri uffici, Avrebbero sicuramente offerto un servizio migliore
La voiture n'avait que 2 litres d'essence. Le modèle n'étais pas celui prévu. La facture a été salée. Une vraie arnaque.
Well, I travel to Belgrade a few times every year. I have tried all the car hire companies, and the one I can't fault, and is the best in my eyes, has the nicest staff you can meet. They also allow cross-border travel into Kosovo for a fee. Honestly, if you are visiting Serbia, you must hire your car from Autounion, and I'm sure, like me, you won't go anywhere else. Auto Abholung am Flughafen HERAKLION. Einige Kratzer und Dellen fielen auf den ersten Blick nicht sonderlich auf und haben uns auch nicht gestört (uns ist solch ein Auto lieber als ein unbeschädigt nagelneues). Alles war auf dem Übergabeprotokoll notiert. Das Servicepersonal war äußerst freundlich, zuvorkommend und kompetent. 1 Flasche Wasser gab es um die sehr kurze Wartezeit zu überbrücken. Die Rückgabe war innerhalb einer Minute ohne Diskussionen erledigt und die blockierte Kaution wurde sofort als Erstattung mit der Kreditkarte freigegeben. P.S. Es ist schade bei Trustpilot, dass der Anmietort nicht angegeben werden muss. So wird der jeweilige Vermieter pauschal, ohne Bezug auf Land oder Abholort undifferenziert bewertet.
