Review summary
Waves Car Wash has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Service here has gone down so badly over the past couple of months, to a point I'm now boycotting the whole firm.
My brand new car, one month old, now has two paint chips in my gloss black bumper and the boss firstly wouldn't accept liability then held my keys hostage until I'd paid the full cleaning cost, despite causing obvious damage to my vehicle!
I check my rear bumper every day to ensure my kids havent scratched it with their bags, because this car is my pride and joy!
Had a gold star service done. Was anything but a gold service first and last time using this wash.
The under seal was clearly not wash properly they try to mask it up with some spray but since it was not clean it will not get shine, when asked was the car wash properly I got told they tried it 3 times but the haze comes back that’s coz the car body was not properly washed to start with.
They good if you need a quick clean don’t bother spending too much with them it’s pointless.
Will wash it myself over the weekend.
GO TO A DIFFERENT CAR WASH! Absolutely awful. I paid £120 for an in depth valet and it came out horrendously, broken glass still in the car dust everywhere and even worse they took everything out of my car and kept onto it for a while which I hadn’t realised until I had gone. When I came to get my stuff back one worker had my charger and was using it in his own car! Showed them the dirt and dust and glass and only hoovered my car again no refund or partial refund at all. I will not be going back here.
Really easy to book in via the App.
Love the fact that you can arrange payment when booking too.
Paid extra for a high definition wax - well worth the money.
The guys are really friendly at the Havant Waves carwash.
The supervisor had a bad attitude. He looked at my car and opened the door, he then shut the door adding that I have to take it away and book for an all day clean. Tesco Tring roundabout.
Waves Heath Hayes Cannock. Booked appointment for 10am, booked online day before. Turned up and guy said can you leave it and come back in few hours because they had another car also booked in. Really not much problem, but the guys were more interested in the BMW. When I said I'll just go elsewhere, he said no no leave it with us, come back in 1 hour 30 minutes. We'll I came back... and I may aswell took it elsewhere, water lines on all body work, wheel arches not touched, boot not polished, really shocking. I spent an hour when I got back trying to get it upto standard. Absolutely avoid at all costs. Its just a glorified brand at Tesco, but the workers seem like they have never cleaner a car before.... and not cheap!!!!!!!!
If this is franchised... it really isn't the customers problem when they are using your name. Waves really needs to vet who are running these car washes. I will not ever use a Wave car wash and I strongly urge anyone else to do the same.
1 star is me being generous. Car was not washed properly. I had to be showing the guy what was not done properly as if he was blind. Waste of time and money. Would not recommend. Broadfields Tesco waves. Aylesbury
Terrible quality clean that left the car coated in a soapy residue that immediately started collecting dust. Wax smeared all over the windows that leaves streaks when trying to wash off using wipers. Their process is to get cars through as quickly as possible with zero attention to detail. Terrible business model, rude staff who couldn't care less and ridiculous pricing for level of service. Worth avoiding and going to much better and cheaper in the area.
I took my car to Waves Cheltenham at Tesco Cheltenham today at 09.30am. I had to speak to the manager/supervisor concerning size of my car and pricing. A rather unpleasant man called Ibrahim (or that is what I am informed his name is). Came over and told me the price and it would take two hours.
I thought that was a long time but decided to go ahead anyway to be assured of a thorough clean. I returned just after 11am prepared to wait and they had not even started on the car. They were not that busy either.
When I complained he just shrugged his shoulders and did not apologise. What a truly awful man representing your business as a manager/supervisor. Rude, surly and unpleasant - how can you charge the prices you charge when they are this bad?
Waves in Hatfield. I paid £85 to cover everything possible.first thing I noticed was smear on one of doors … ok will let that go ,
And then dust of the dashboard. On further inspection Inside of some doors hadn’t been cleaned. Dirt and leaf debris visible in inside of tailgate. Unable to pay by card reader and had to pay cash. Needless to say I won’t be going back.
My wife had our car washed by Waves Carwash situated in Tesco's Whitstable earlier. As she pulled on the drive I could see that it was a poor job, streaks, multiple spots missed so still dirty, no tyre dressing etc. As she got closer my jaw dropped as every panel (and I mean every panel) was covered in scratches. Imagine what your car would look like after using fine sand paper to wash it with. Thats what it looked like - On a gloss black car too.
Trust me, they weren't there before! I usually wash the cars so I know every stone chip, mark on them and take pride in them too (I'm the sad guy with snow foam :)
I took the car back an hour ish after and asked the guy in charge what he would do in my situation having had my car washed and now it's covered in scratches. The replies were (in short) 'the cars clean', 'there's no scratches', 'My wife was in the car the whole time so they couldn't have done it'. 'Its impossible for them to scratch cars'. He then agreed that the car was not clean (after I showed him the back which was still particularly dirty), apologised and offered to clean it again which as you can imagine I said no to. I asked for his name and said that he'd receive a legal letter which is when the mood changed. The guys body language changed, and he started raising his voice which was uncomfortable to say the least. I calmly said, 'have a great day' and 'good bye' and got in the car. He waved over a colleague and then stood by my door so I couldn't close it and said 'why am I being like this' and that he was 'trying to be nice' (implying he's not going to be nice now). I then said (a little louder this time as I was frankly cornered), 'have a great day and goodbye'. He moved, I left, thats that. As you can imagine, I was furious but what can you do. Part of me thinks I shouldn't have gone back but another part thinks I should as they were in the wrong and subsequently damaged my car. I tried polishing a small area using a specialised Meguiars product to see if the scratches would come out. Its now harder to see them (in that area) but you can still see it. Hoping they can be fully removed with a some old fashioned elbow grease, or maybe via a good detailer. Fingers crossed.
I can only assume that this does not happen to every car they wash but this is my own experience (a costly and uncomfortable one) so my advice is to stay well away and tell your friends and family to do the same. I have shared this in the hope others do not have the same experience I did today.
The bonnet of my car has been severely scratched and the rubber seal on the driver’s side window now has two deep scores. All this is from employees at the Tesco car wash in New Milton when they cleaned my car. They rushed us to move the car when we arrived as they wanted to spray the car next to it which I why I didn’t see the scrapes until I got the car home. Conveniently the website says they are not liable for damages when a car has been moved from a cleaning bay. Avoid this car wash at all costs!!!!
