Avoid! Tesco Whitstable

My wife had our car washed by Waves Carwash situated in Tesco's Whitstable earlier. As she pulled on the drive I could see that it was a poor job, streaks, multiple spots missed so still dirty, no tyre dressing etc. As she got closer my jaw dropped as every panel (and I mean every panel) was covered in scratches. Imagine what your car would look like after using fine sand paper to wash it with. Thats what it looked like - On a gloss black car too. Trust me, they weren't there before! I usually wash the cars so I know every stone chip, mark on them and take pride in them too (I'm the sad guy with snow foam :) I took the car back an hour ish after and asked the guy in charge what he would do in my situation having had my car washed and now it's covered in scratches. The replies were (in short) 'the cars clean', 'there's no scratches', 'My wife was in the car the whole time so they couldn't have done it'. 'Its impossible for them to scratch cars'. He then agreed that the car was not clean (after I showed him the back which was still particularly dirty), apologised and offered to clean it again which as you can imagine I said no to. I asked for his name and said that he'd receive a legal letter which is when the mood changed. The guys body language changed, and he started raising his voice which was uncomfortable to say the least. I calmly said, 'have a great day' and 'good bye' and got in the car. He waved over a colleague and then stood by my door so I couldn't close it and said 'why am I being like this' and that he was 'trying to be nice' (implying he's not going to be nice now). I then said (a little louder this time as I was frankly cornered), 'have a great day and goodbye'. He moved, I left, thats that. As you can imagine, I was furious but what can you do. Part of me thinks I shouldn't have gone back but another part thinks I should as they were in the wrong and subsequently damaged my car. I tried polishing a small area using a specialised Meguiars product to see if the scratches would come out. Its now harder to see them (in that area) but you can still see it. Hoping they can be fully removed with a some old fashioned elbow grease, or maybe via a good detailer. Fingers crossed. I can only assume that this does not happen to every car they wash but this is my own experience (a costly and uncomfortable one) so my advice is to stay well away and tell your friends and family to do the same. I have shared this in the hope others do not have the same experience I did today.
