Waves Car Wash has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Service here has gone down so badly over the past couple of months, to a point I'm now boycotting the whole firm.
My brand new car, one month old, now has two paint chips in my gloss black bumper and the boss firstly wouldn't accept liability then held my keys hostage until I'd paid the full cleaning cost, despite causing obvious damage to my vehicle!
I check my rear bumper every day to ensure my kids havent scratched it with their bags, because this car is my pride and joy!
Had a gold star service done. Was anything but a gold service first and last time using this wash.
The under seal was clearly not wash properly they try to mask it up with some spray but since it was not clean it will not get shine, when asked was the car wash properly I got told they tried it 3 times but the haze comes back that’s coz the car body was not properly washed to start with.
They good if you need a quick clean don’t bother spending too much with them it’s pointless.
Will wash it myself over the weekend.
GO TO A DIFFERENT CAR WASH! Absolutely awful. I paid £120 for an in depth valet and it came out horrendously, broken glass still in the car dust everywhere and even worse they took everything out of my car and kept onto it for a while which I hadn’t realised until I had gone. When I came to get my stuff back one worker had my charger and was using it in his own car! Showed them the dirt and dust and glass and only hoovered my car again no refund or partial refund at all. I will not be going back here.
This was an impulse car wash in Reading for a Yaris. The man opened all the doors, inspected and said ‘£33, one hour.’ I came back to find that there was still mud on the leathers, the door sills hadn’t been touched and the dog bed in the boot hadn’t even been moved. He was shouting that I hadn’t told him I wanted these things done!! Ridiculous. But it was scary having a group of 4 people all aggressively speaking ?Russian suddenly around you. I paid and got out of there, despite being furious. NEVER AGAIN. Shame on you Waves.
Booked online for a Gold wash and leather treatment at TESCO Loudwater High Wycombe, 4door car 5seats. When booking in this morning I was the only one there at 8.30 or rather 8.22am I allowed for the 1hour 15mins to do the car at 9am a text to say car ready. £93.00 for what exactly. Over rated car wash with Over rated prices. You would get a better wash from the local car wash guys for £18.00. The description of care is not what I received.
I'd give 0 if I could. Glastonury Waves. Asked for a platinum wash for a classic merc, asked him to ensure they waxed it. They didn't wax it, didn't give an air freshener, didn't do anything over than standard. I literally saty and watched him not wax it.
When challenged he then doubled down and said he washed it, then hand waxed it, then washed it again. I watched him do the whole car, start to finish.
The car is filthy.
I'll never use that, or any of your other outlets again.

Edited to add that they did refund me in full from head office, and quickly, so I am upping the review to a 2 from 1.
Over priced , poor service .i paid 26£ to clean suzuki swift inside and out . The car hinges were not even cleaned. Inside still had crumbs under the seat and sides.
You get better job done with the price at other hand wash station.
The Waves Car Wash at Tesco St. Leonards is under new management, so I thought I’d give it a try. I’m rather fussy and have always cleaned my own cars, but what attracted me is that they use Autoglym products, known throughout the motor trade for quality and reliability.
I was very impressed with the service, my vehicle was ready for collection within 30 minutes, having been hand-washed, dried and polished. The staff are friendly and professional, and take pride in doing a good job. All the door shuts including the tailgate were cleaned, the carpets vacuumed and all the glass was cleaned inside and out so well that it was difficult to tell if the windows were open or shut. The wheels sparkled and the tyre walls looked like new. Three weeks later the car still looks sparkly clean, despite the recent rain.
To summarise, the car was finished to a far higher standard than I could achieve without a lot of effort and expense buying the Autoglym products.
i left my car to be cleaned inside and out when i returned i was told they had knocked my rear view mirror off no apolagiethought it would just stick back onno chance they hadhit it so hard anyway the cost of repair was £52 so no i would never ever go back to them or reccamend it
Paid for a bronze service. It was very poor. A lot of the Mark's was not removed. On the body. Just flower petals. The assistant was very rude and told me I should of purchased a platinum service while the other assistant easily wiped off the dirt quite easily. At that point we left quite disgusted.
Overcharging because my car wasn’t clean enough to be washed!
Waves Car Wash at Sidcup used to be excellent. When it relaunched after Covid, the manager was friendly, welcoming and they did an excellent job. But he’s since left, it’s been so badly understaffed, I was told the wait time would be over 2 hours. They also overcharge you and have left part of my wife’s car unwashed.
So I tried Waves at Tesco Orpington. I went a few weeks ago, and even though I got overcharged by £5, they did a good enough job.
I went back today and asked for the inside and outside to be cleaned (which should be £30). The manager (Razahi Omar) asked to look inside the car, which he admitted just needed a hoover. But he said because the outside of the car was “too dirty”, he could do it for £50!! I was stunned. It wasn’t “too dirty” at all - just the normal amount of dirt you’d expect before washing it (I have photos to prove this). He said it was a surcharge. When I said “so you’re charging me extra to clean my car because it’s not clean enough for you?” he just said “ok, I could do it for £45”. I refused. He then said “you clearly didn’t have it cleaned here last time” (as if the car would miraculously stay clean if I had) - when I said “I did actually!”, he looked surprised!
Call me strange, but I’ve never taken my car to be washed WHILE IT’S STILL CLEAN! I told him I was appalled and would take my business elsewhere.
At a time when we’re all needing to watch our pennies and we’re impacted by local hosepipe bans, I find it disgusting that they’re trying to take even more money from us.
Tesco, PLEASE give your car washing contract to a different company who deserve it. Waves are terrible and should be out of business.
If I could leave no stars I would, I took my car to Belmont tesco Hereford paid £30 for it to be washed and hoovered which was done very badly, they left someone else's keys in my car which my son found and worst of all the broke my car key which they said was fine when they handed it back, no refund, no apology or offer to pay for a new key and they are rude. First and last time going there.
