Review summary
Waves Car Wash has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Service here has gone down so badly over the past couple of months, to a point I'm now boycotting the whole firm.
My brand new car, one month old, now has two paint chips in my gloss black bumper and the boss firstly wouldn't accept liability then held my keys hostage until I'd paid the full cleaning cost, despite causing obvious damage to my vehicle!
I check my rear bumper every day to ensure my kids havent scratched it with their bags, because this car is my pride and joy!
Had a gold star service done. Was anything but a gold service first and last time using this wash.
The under seal was clearly not wash properly they try to mask it up with some spray but since it was not clean it will not get shine, when asked was the car wash properly I got told they tried it 3 times but the haze comes back that’s coz the car body was not properly washed to start with.
They good if you need a quick clean don’t bother spending too much with them it’s pointless.
Will wash it myself over the weekend.
GO TO A DIFFERENT CAR WASH! Absolutely awful. I paid £120 for an in depth valet and it came out horrendously, broken glass still in the car dust everywhere and even worse they took everything out of my car and kept onto it for a while which I hadn’t realised until I had gone. When I came to get my stuff back one worker had my charger and was using it in his own car! Showed them the dirt and dust and glass and only hoovered my car again no refund or partial refund at all. I will not be going back here.
Took my car to this car wash in Rickmansworth on the 23rd August. During the wash the car's windscreen got cracked. After almost a month no responsibility accepted, these guys are hiding behind the technicalities. Their headquarters (spoke with Michelle) were very willing to help, just to end up weeks later to respond that it is not their fault and they are not accepting any responsibility. My dashcam shows that the windscreen is perfectly fine at 11:14 when the car reverses to the washing bay and at 11:23 there is a clearly visible crack in front of the lense. The guy (Franchise partner) when challenged he started saying that there was a chip on the windscreen and water just exaggerated the damage. Minutes later he kept saying that it was an accident, but again, no responsibility accepted.
The funny thing is that there are CCTV cameras pointing directly to the washing bay. When I told them that if they are so confident that it is not their mistake, they should share the CCTV footage with me and if the person washing my car did nothing wrong then at least I will be able to see what happened to my car. They are just hiding behind the privacy regulations. They dont want me to see what they did.
If you did nothing wrong guys you have my consent to make the 8-minute footage public here so everyone can decide if I am wrong.
I am sure that you can't.
Tesco's is covering for you, your headquarters is covering for you.
At least all the people I know will be already avoiding you.
Stay away from them.
I took my car to the Waves Team at Tescos's on Tadcaster Road as had done a few skip runs and car was in a right state.
Explained everything to the staff and we agreed the price.
They did a superb job the car was spotless and smelling nice and in a state that I was prepared to return it to my lady wife thank god.
They even noticed a scratch on my wing mirror and repaired that.
I will definitely be returning and would recommend them highly.
Cheers,
Derm.
Visited at Tesco in Orpington, the staff have stolen the cleaning cloth in both pairs of sunglasses. To do this they opened the cases and weirdly stole a D&G cloth and a Gucci cloth. Went to ask who did this where are these cleaning cloths, manager said to check inside the console arm, if not there he would buy replacements in Tesco. I told him these cant be replaced from Tesco. Both sunglasses had dirty finger prints all over, so some weirdo is nicking small things they think they can get away with. Car clean was also poor alloys mucky. Wont go again.
First experience, paid extra for a better wash on the app.
End result was below average, alloy wheels in particular were still a bit dirty - I could wipe the dirt off with my finger, so don't think a cloth had been anywhere near them, maybe just a jet wash.
Realistically I can do a better job at home in 30 mins with my jet washer and a cloth than these people, doubt I'll go back.
I used Waves "Hand Car Wash" for the 1st time, came away extremely disappointed.
The "Hand" part of the wash didn't exist, was a few minutes being blasted with a jet wash before drying!
Having purchased the "GOLD" wash, booked via their app advised of allowing 1hr 15min for this service, my entire visit lasted just under 20 minutes, I was also charged an extra £10 for a polish which was never done!
I had to prompt them hoovering the boot area which was ignored.
Have written now twice to their customer services email address and to date not had the courtesy of a response.
My advice is to be extremely careful of what you expect and certainly what you pay for.
They have been doing a just ok job for £17 last few months, then went today and they wanted £25 to wash my car,
I declined as can get much better for less money.
Will find new place for me and my families cars
Went to crawley tesco hazelwick Waves Car Wash they are always very pleasant and do a excellent job, the guys that done my car today were a new group, they seem to go over and beyond will carry on using them
Kingston Park Newcastle Tesco - Should have been £7 (Bronze standard) but charged me £10, because and I quote "the car is DIRTY". Well, I wouldn't be here if it was clean would I? They said it would be 45 mins (after I was about to drive away because they originally said "an hour"), and it took 1 hour!!! There was still a dirt mark on the windscreen after they had "finished", which I wiped away myself with a cloth. I doubt I will go back there again and will look elsewhere.
The customer service at Waves in Tesco King's Lynn
The customer service at Waves in Tesco King's Lynn was very poor, they never said good morning, hello or any greeting, I felt like they didn't really want your custom. The actual car wash was good, but I will not go back there due to very poor customer service. (Perhaps all the staff need a course on talking to customer s)
What has happened to the old manager? Been using this service for a few years, no issue. Taken my (pre-booked) car for ‘platinum’ wash today, was made to feel like it was an inconvenience as I hadn’t booked via the app - this didn’t work, left car for an hour and a half at their request came back & it was clean but lots of runs and by no means perfect inside. I paid by card but an issue was made about nhs / bluelight discount (I’d flagged this when I dropped it off) I was then showed a handful of keys none of them were mine, then a shambolic attempt to locate my keys ensued. Searching cars & the workers pockets. The ‘manager’ (or so it said on his shirt) then carried on washing another vehicle without a word. When the keys were eventually located they on the floor near the cleaning equipment!
Appalling customer service, I will not return
