The person who did our pickup apologised for the earlier lack of response by his colleague to our phone call as per instructions. He was very helpful and caring. The same for both employees who helped us with the return of our vehicle.

My experience with Mode Rentals was very positive. They responded quickly to a few requests a made by e-mail and were flexible when I wanted to change the pickup location due to our later arrival in the country. The team was very friendly and they explained policies clearly. I used the key drop box at at the Auckland CBD location to return the car, and received the final receipt quickly the next day. Everything went very smoothly.

I rented a car from Christchurch to Auckland through Sunny Cars and then another bigger car from Auckland to Christchurch. Staff were very friendly and in Auckland he took the time to show me the bigger car as we needed a big boot for 4 suitcases. Both cars were in good order. They have a higher mileage then more expensive companies but we received good cars. We did not have any damage. The office in town in Auckland is a bit difficult to find - it is inside an old railway building and they only have a small sign.

We were really happy with the quality of car we hired from mode. Great staff, easy transfer from and back to airport on return. We recommend!!!!

Great all round service from pick up/drop off at airport. Easy online setup prior to pick up of vehicle (drivers license, card details etc.) Staff honesty in pointing out (ticked online form) tolls fee was not required and prompt refund return to account. Rav4 car met our needs and was clean/tidy upon pickup.

Everything went as smoothly as possible.... Reasonable distance from airport. But good shuttle service and wasn't pressured into taking their insurance, rather taking the AirNZ domestic insurance cover for $20... Did require $3000 bond, but saved $250. Good car ready and waiting as scheduled. Thank you will use again.

The best rental company we have used hands down! The process was a breeze, communication was great! Didn't quite catch the guys name we dealt with in Christchurch but he was amazing. Our flight was late into CHC 16/04 but he was very understanding. We initially booked to have the rental returned at 6pm 20/04 but then our flight was delayed again out of CHC due to the weather.. They were very accommodating and agreed to let us keep it an extra 2.5hrs. Will definitely be looking to use Mode for future rental needs!

Very easy shuttle and check in process. Was a little hesitant booking a rental car that wasn't in terminal, but in both directions I was on a shuttle immediately so it didn't take much time at all. Very good value, especially for a late notice booking during school holidays

Customer service was quick, helpful, and friendly, and our car was well-maintained. Rental rates weren't particularly high, either. Would recommend.

Great company. Easy to book, reasonable price and great transfer to collect and drop off vehicle, lovely helpful staff. The staff at the drop off location even dropped us back to the airport in our hired van rather than make us off load 8 people and all the bags, and wait for another transfer vehicle. Easy online booking and pick up shuttle and check in process. Vehicle was as described modern and clean. Unfortunately through no fault of the company the vehicle was vandalised and attempted to be stolen rendering it undriveable. I did feel a bit like the company left me to organise recovery of the vehicle rather than arranging themselves as it was a very distressing experience and I felt they should have taken on this task. The customer service were very professional and empathetic, however being told to attempt to drive vehicle back to the depot and then attempting to do so only it was rendered impossible and then being advised to call the tow truck myself was disappointing.

The car was great and the in- and out check was very quick. I rented the car for a month and it was a very good price too.

Easy to book. Car was ready on time. It was clean. Staff friendly and easy to talk with.

The out of hours pickup early morning was excellent. We left the terminal building and the transport took us straight to the pickup point where the car was waiting. The cost of the hire was very reasonable. The car was an older model but perfect for our requirements. The return of the car was similarly very easy and we were in the terminal 20 minutes after arriving at the drop point in the car. I was very impressed with Mode and will use them again next year.
