Really disappointed with the customer service from mode rentals. Hired a van for a small trip around Queenstown this week and when driving 2 of the hubcaps (which were only cable tied on) came off the car through no fault of our own. They charged us $100 per hubcap that came off despite the issue clearly being the way it was attached to the car. Extremely disappointing form, don’t recommend.
We hired a van from Mode Rentals, after a couple of trip the hubcaps flew off (despite being cable tied on), we explained we were going slow in a low gear down the mountain, and were driving very safely. Mode rentals then charged us $100 per hubcap, which we were very disappointed about. Poor customer service
Mode Rentals Queenstown are charging us $100 for a missing hubcap, even though all four hubcaps were cable tied on within an inch of their life. The team were unwilling to compromise on this. Poor customer service.
I never got my $600 bond back got completely scammed $600 highly wouldn’t recommend

Everything was super smooth from collecting the car to returning the car. We were given the guaranteed model and that was great. Even returning car is from a third party, the instructions given were clear.

Car was in a good clean state, was modern and although compact in size I still had plenty of room and I am 6'2". Freindly, helpful staff Airport shuttle staff were also freindly and all had a smile

Very disappointing with the service. The car it self was old but passable, and CarPlay does not work as it's missing software. Had the battery depleted the morning after the pickup (we picked up the car late and basically parked it with everything turned off) and ended up having to pay for road side assistance. Company claim no fault and I have no proof so that's $200 out of pocket. Zero discussion as the battery wasn't at fault. I would understand if this was my fault but I ensured no lights were left on when the car was packed and locked. That's approx 8 hours (less) of leaving the car unattended without headlights on (or overhead lights), so obviously the battery was already pretty depleted. Prior to picking up the car, I reached out twice about a roof rack for skis and both times were confused for snow chains. Should have realised back then when I booked. I get that they're cheaper but that's because they're not on site at the airport. I think they could do better. Never again. Not worth the hassle of crappy service and crappy experience.
mode rentals saved my butt! My group of friends is not the best organized, so we quickly realized when we got to Queenstown that we wouldn't all fit into one rental car along with our skis. Thankfully mode was really flexible and was able to rent us a second car within just 15 minutes. The price was very reasonable and their service was speedy and efficient. Definitely one of the best car rental experiences I've had.
Staff were super easy to deal with, and you didn’t have to be 21 like every other rental. Pick up and drop off was super quick and easy and prices were very fair.

Very helpful & accomodating. Very good prices. Tim was exceptional with assisting me with my booking nd adjustments that I needed to make which were probably rather annoying but Tim sorted it all with ease and a smile.
