Marsh and Parsons, Tooting - a really good experience!
I recently used the Tooting Bec branch of Marsh and Parson to sell my property and cannot speak highly enough of their Director, Angelo Mulholland. Angelo and Thomas Syms were reliable and honest in their dealings with me, they are both highly experienced agents who know the wider housing market and the local market well and understand the impact of the change in one on the other.
Connor Marney, managed the on-the-ground marketing and sale of my property, an absolute star! Calm and reliable, unfailingly polite and hard working I felt really fortunate having Connor as part of my sales team. A big thank you to M&P, I have no hesitation in recommending you!
I worked with Marsh and Parsons to do a short-term lease. My agent rushed me to send over full funds (deposit and entirety of rent) immediately to secure the flat, warning me that I might not get the place otherwise, so I did. He wrote to confirm that I got the place. A month later, he said that I actually did not get the place as apparently the landlord was no longer renting it out, despite the contract and confirmation. He “generously” — that’s sarcasm — offered to refund the money. When he sent it back, it was short $1k. He refused to do anything else about it. Not only did he fail to fulfill contract obligations and screw me over that way, he also caused me financial loss for the privilege.
Terrible experience. I am still stuck with them due to my contract. The agents are misleading; the flat turned out to have mold, leakage, and was handed to me in a terrible condition. Talked to the previous tenant and said she had already complained about all that. They rented out the flat to me IN THE SAME CONDITION! take care when dealing with them! you´re just another bank account for them
I just stumbled across this page and am astounded at the bad reviews, I have been letting my property through Marsh & Parsons for over a decade, I find them to be efficient and professional.
*Notting Hill branch
As a neighbour to tenants from marsh and parsons, they have made my life a hell, choosing noisy tenants again and again for years, it's the same every year even with different tenants. They don't do anything about it other than ' warnings' which have no real weight. They day they can't do anything about it, so I'm expected to call the council/police all the time.
Once a few months ago was so bad that someone 6-7 doors from them came to complain as well as someone from across the road.
Police have been called also in the past.
I had to call the council last night to witness the noise due to a 1am party, and luckily they saw it.
I'll probably have to move house because of this badly run property.
Maybe I need to try a formal complaint.
Really bad experience! They are not resolving any issues! And the customer service is probably the worst i have seen! I asked to escalate to a manager and they basically refused to give me a contact name!
AVOID THIS LETTING AGENCY !!! If I could give them minus stars I would. Worst experience ever. Extremely disorganised, not responsive to emails, and trying to scam you at every point of the tenancy. But rest assured if you are in one of these situations… they don’t have a legal team lol and they tried to make it seem like I was breaching the contract while on multiple counts they were at fault.
Already agreed offer was followed by higher amounts in tenancy contract/ Tenancy Agreement, different contract clauses, also increased deposit. After complaint they retained also part of initial deposit. You have options to complain to Property Ombudsman and to local council for a dishonest and unfair trading behavior OR AVOID Marsh & Parsons from the very beginning.
Update: It is weird that Imperial College promote this cheating company with direct emails to students. I understand someone take some money to promote. Ms Alice Gast knows ? TheGuardian this could be an article !
Terrible experience buying my property through the Richmond branch. Their tactics involve emotional blackmail and threats. Jessica in the Richmond branch dealt with my sale and it was a very unpleasant experience that caused me a lot of stress and is a reason why I will not be using them in the re sale of my house. Please if you can, avoid this estate agent.
They're your best friend before signing a contract, and once you have signed, they make your life miserable. I've dealt with various agents in the past but this one is probably the worse.
Marsh and Parson Barnes terrible agents worst ever experience never again. I found a flat from them and then we did all the legal and paper works, we paid our deposit and the next day she call me saying that the landlord back out, so I ask her to refund the money she told me it will take 5 working days I said ok. She offer me another (not even online) same we we're about to start the paper works because the landlord accept our offer, she call me again saying the the flat happens to be the landlord has a outstanding legal matters to be dealt before it cannot be rented. So this is 1 week past already since they told me it will take 5 working days for the refund, I ask her where is my refund she said its been process today, I was surprise what happen to the last 7 days? I let it go counted for another 5 working days call them and then she and her manager telling in couple of days, I told them I will take it further if they refund my money the next day and funny because they still have guts to offer me another flat which out of our budget, I kept thinking maybe they don't want to refund my money and keep it to them? and also they never answer my emails they only call. I cannot put an offer to other agents because they dont refund my money. It took me two weeks to refund my money with thousands of emails from me (never answered) and lots of calls (from them). I was about to call the police, I already went to citizen advice website to report but never get answer. I was about to call the police the next day finally they paid after two weeks. I was just afraid because we have 1 year old child and not enough time to look for a place to move in.
*note I don't mention the agent and her mangers name because I dont want them to loose their job I just want them to learn and respect, put their feet on their clients shoes. Saying sorry wont work if you dont do your job properly. Specially if its about money because all of us working hard to earn it.
