I recently used the Tooting Bec branch of Marsh and Parson to sell my property and cannot speak highly enough of their Director, Angelo Mulholland. Angelo and Thomas Syms were reliable and honest in their dealings with me, they are both highly experienced agents who know the wider housing market and the local market well and understand the impact of the change in one on the other. Connor Marney, managed the on-the-ground marketing and sale of my property, an absolute star! Calm and reliable, unfailingly polite and hard working I felt really fortunate having Connor as part of my sales team. A big thank you to M&P, I have no hesitation in recommending you!

I worked with Marsh and Parsons to do a short-term lease. My agent rushed me to send over full funds (deposit and entirety of rent) immediately to secure the flat, warning me that I might not get the place otherwise, so I did. He wrote to confirm that I got the place. A month later, he said that I actually did not get the place as apparently the landlord was no longer renting it out, despite the contract and confirmation. He β€œgenerously” β€” that’s sarcasm β€” offered to refund the money. When he sent it back, it was short $1k. He refused to do anything else about it. Not only did he fail to fulfill contract obligations and screw me over that way, he also caused me financial loss for the privilege.

Excellent service in Streatham

We've just completed on the sale of our flat in Streatham with Marsh & Parsons as the agents. Other agents completely inflated/exaggerated what they thought we could achieve. It was instantly clear that Charlie had excellent knowledge of the area and current market and he was honest in managing our expectations. In the end, our sale price was bang on what he originally thought we would achieve. It was great working with him, and Negin as the sale negotiator. We had lots of issues with solicitors and the searches, and Negin worked tirelessly, following up with them and ensuring that we reached completion. We would have had serious delays if it wasn't for her diligence, and we are extremely grateful.

Close to bullying!

I cancelled an appointment by email with Blair, Marylebone office, to view a property for sale as I decided it wasn't in an area that would be suitable. Blair called me and confirmed he'd received my email and then launched into a tirade questioning my reason for cancellation and telling me that I'd never find a similar property at the same price. I'd describe his stance and attitude as close to bullying. He then told me that he'd remove me from their 'list". Wow! Will be happy to use other agents. Bye bye, Marsh & Parsons!

If you use Marsh & Parsons be aware of…

If you use Marsh & Parsons be aware of the following; Ask for any references they get for you on your behalf and vet them carefully and ask for a copy of the tenants passports. They do not check references sufficiently and the people they use to do some of this for them don't either. Be aware that they will tell the tenant the landlord wants a 3 year contract with a tow year break clause and they will tell the landlord the tenant wants a 3 year contract with a 2 year break clause. This is not a good contract to have in the event the tenant falls behind on rent. M&P simply want a two year minimum contract so they can take all their fees in the first year for both years. Look to use agents that take their commission monthly and look them up on the property sites as to how long they take to move the property, both in sales and lettings. So far we have been happy with Fletchers in London who have shared full referencing with us as well as passports etc. Without going into detail we would be reluctant to use Marsh & Parsons again.

Dishonest or Incompetent

This organisation should not be in business. My daughter left a tenancy and they are still trying to get us to pay rent after the event. Trying to get it sorted is a nightmare as they have no central customer service team or escalation process. I know it's hard to find a property but using this bunch of cowboys will only cause stress in the long run. They are still after many months trying to get money from me and completely unable to get a person from their management to talk to

Charged me for rent on the same day…

Charged me for rent on the same day that new tenants moved in. Refused to discuss how this was unfair for me to pay for some one else's rent. Took full 10 days to decide on deposit which is fine but tone was churlish and patronising.

Very stressful

Excellent sign up service, the worst experience ever when ending lease. Been trying to get deposit back but they fob you off with lie after lie as to why they won't pay it back. Landlord has agreed in writing it should be 100% released and the new tenant has moved in but still they hold it. Miles Farrell from the Shoreditch office does not return your calls and shows no interest in resolving issue. CEO Patrick Littlemore advised to contact customer service, a formal complaint has been raised and passed to another Director, but after looking at trust pilot i feel we will be lucky to get a reply. Have now contacted family solicitor to start court proceedings to get Marsh & Parsons to release the deposit. Their tag line we value property but we value people first is an insult. Why a company is so happy to lose money on court fees, totally baffles me. It seems they get a kick out of making their clients lives a misery, ensuring they never use them again.
