DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM IF YOU HAVE HARD WATER, IRON, BAD ODOR OR TASTE

We purchased a home in the country with a well early 2024. A Leaf sales person came to the house and proposed a STO 1.5 high efficiency softener + taste + odor catalytic carbon filtration - total investment $6073.00. I was told this would take care of the hardness, iron, odors and taste. 1st Service call was an error on our part (first time country living and we missed checking the tank for salt), it was added. We keep up on this task now. 2nd Service call we were still having odor and rust deposits, a bad taste as well from straight cold water. Hot water makes this odor worse. We were told we would need to change the anode rod to titanium in the hot water heater to correct this problem, tank will not open so we are in process of replacing the entire tank. Adjustments were made for odor & taste as well as adjusting the cycling of the water more frequently. 3rd Service call - Odor, taste are still not good. Rust deposits in sinks and toilets continue (all on cold water only) dog water bowls and water containers have hard water deposits and rust staining. We had a plumber replace a pressure switch on our well pressure tank and he did a water test for us which showed hardness still above 40 gpg with 3.5 ppm of Iron and verified sulfur in the water. But with the information from sales and her manager this system should be taking care of all of this. During this 3rd service call, water tests were performed but not documented on the 3rd page of the Service sheets. A post water hardness test of 75 which is harder than the original test of 39.5 gpg. Iron was not given on the service call report however original report showed .5 iron ppm and the plumber was showing 3.5 ppm. Again, I was told this system would take care of all of this when purchased. It seems to be increasing instead of getting better. When I asked what to do, the Service Installer/Technician states we could add a pre-filter before their system, which by the way they do not carry or install. THEN, for the final whipped cream on top and to add insult to injury, the Service Installer/Technician states and I quote, " this system is not made for this hard of water." I would like to know why it was even offered as a solution in the first place. It should have been stated outright in the beginning but evidently the all mighty dollar is their only concern as I was told this system is what we needed to take care of the hardness, iron, taste and odor. I will be requesting the system removal and a refund of what we paid for a system that WILL NOT be able to offer us "great-tasting, odor-free, high-quality soft water to our whole home" that will remove the iron as well, per Leaf brochures and sales person. This may be a system for city water, I do not know but am extremely unhappy with Leaf Home Water after 10 months of service and bad water.

I really like the product

I really like the product, I started with relatively good water but now it is excellent water. Just need a little more attention to detail. The reverse osmosis under the sink needed electric and the installer should have asked to have a faucet open to help drain the pipes before cutting them

Greensboro NC office kudos!!

First of all both the office rep (Addison) and the actual installer (Brandon) from the Greensboro, NC office were both on time, an important quality to me. Second, both were efficient, clear, and did both their jobs well! I would recommend this business anytime!

A bit early for a full review, but so far ...

Sufficient product information was provided by your sales representative. Your sales representative was friendly and polite. The purchase process was pretty simple to complete. Installation of the product went pretty smoothly (some complexity at my location caused the installer a little bit of extra work). The system installed seems to work fine. The weather protection device for the controller is not really very secure (I think, my opinion, that a strong wind or heavy rain could dislodge the protective cover, allowing potential damage to occur to the timer/controller unit.)

Sale and installation of water softern.

Did not expect installation to be done so quickly, that was great! Sales rep was informative. The installation tech, Duane, was very knowledge about his product, explained in detail on the equipment and how to do our part in keeping it running efficiently. The area was completely cleaned up, all old items were taken away.

Water contaminants gone

My salesman (Mike Berlavski) explained what my current water issues were and made great solutions for us. I am extremely comforted by the carbon tank unit I have and am very happy that I am getting clean fresh water.

The service tech was Rene

The service tech was Rene. He came to my house when it was dark, and the job required him to install outside. He worked fast and very proficient. He certainly knew his work. I was especially impressed by the fact that he connected the waterlines without soldering. Thank you for a good workman.

The Salesman,”Steve”

Outstanding Performance and System

Reno, our salesperson, was kind, informative, thorough and very personable. He guided us to the best system for our home and desires for healthier water. Brenton, our installer, was amazing due to his thoughtful and creative approach to make the whole-house system work for us. He worked closely with us to understand how the system works and why the installation took place in the manner it was installed. Due to the location in our basement for the system placement, he had much more work to do in order for it to work efficiently and look aesthetically pleasing. Before he left, he checked each and every part of the system and went over every direction for use with us. We asked many questions and he thoughtfully answered them all. We chose a finance option that was fair and interest free for us. The warranty is quite broad and fair. This was a fantastic experience and our water quality is already improved! Customer Service is also pleasant and helpful. Very impressed with this Leaf Water Company.
