The agents at keenans were incompetent

The estate agents at keenans were incompetent luddites who slowed down our process of buying a house immensely and almsot caused the entire sale to fall through. They took forever to respond to e-mails (if they ever even did), ignored questions and left out key information, delayed passing time sensitive information from the sellers to us, and overally made the experience a nightmare

access requests

There is now a ninth access request so far this year this time for a house inspection. I can't work at my career/ job. Then as i'm tidying up for a house inspection they send me a a rent invoice even though i paid my rent three weeks early. They have toxicated my e mail inbox. And i can't work due to never ending access requests. There e mails to me are horrible.

Rat communications

The viewing team is really good and at the start they make you feel like buying from them is a good idea But once you have the bid accepted it comes a different ball game. Rat like pushy and people who don't work in the local branches take over. I wouldn't deal with them buying or selling When I sold my home they priced it higher than expected but couldn't sell it for months on end. Lowering the price and taking a large cut. They did not keep me up to date with the guy buying it even tho they had contacted to try and let me know about works and negotiations

A very positive experience of selling our home

We have recently sold our home of 44 years with Keenan’s. It had previously been marketed by another Agent with no sale. From the first visit Sam inspired confidence in the possibility of a sale and suggested it was marketed at a higher price than previously. Throughout the whole process we were very impressed by Sam , Abbey and the team at Chorley. We loved the promotional ‘walk through’ video and then we waited for the phone to ring....and ring it did. In the first two weeks we had seven viewings and three families who wanted to purchase the property. We were offered the full asking price by a lovely family looking for a new home - and cash buyers. Once the sale was agreed we were contacted weekly by the office and at every stage the staff were always there for us at the end of the phone. We could not have asked for more from our estate agent. If you are thinking of selling or buying a home look no further. Keenan’s is the agent to go for!

Efficient, organised and professional

I can see there some negative review on here, but I have nothing but praise for Keenans. From start to finish they have been brilliant. Paul from the Rochdale branch kept us informed all the way through to our sale. Ken who oversaw the viewings and Liam at the Accrington branch who consulted with us until completion. They have been efficient, organised and professional throughout. I would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you Kennans!! You made our sale so stress free. 😊

Unauthorized entering of home

Keenans estate agents entered the property where I am the legal tenant with my current landlord without my authority, without me knowing and without me being present at my home just my friend there unaware that keenans were coming to take pictures of the house, I spoke with James who is aware I am the tenant and be informed me my landlord arranged this and gave the go ahead for this so knew I hadn’t agreed. No apology was given or explanation to me just ‘speak to your landlord’

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!! Poor poor poor service. Nearly lost my sale due to the incompetence of this estate agents. If it wasn’t for my solicitor it would have fell through. Never ever get back to you, either phone, e-mail. I basically did KB job for him. Absolutely disgrace from start to finish. Want a good estate agents then I highly recommend Sell Well. I had more dealings with my buying estate agents than this estate agents who was selling mine. Don’t make the mistake I made please . Moving is stressful but the non correspondence. The abrupt staff is what made it stressful and basically nearly pushed me over the edge who was dealing with my sale. Gutted me I had to pay for such inadequacy.

I had to put 1 star on to be able to…

I had to put 1 star on to be able to write this review but it doesn’t deserve any. We recently pulled out of a purchase of a house with Keenans Swinton branch as the customer service from Aimee was absolutely terrible, we wasn’t allowed a second viewing to show the children until we had our survey done and when we tried to explain she told my partner “to cut to the chase’, when my partner told her how rude she was and that her customer skills was terrible she said that she’s done her job and that was to sell a house. Well I’m sorry but Aimee is the reason we pulled out of the sale, they are not having our custom. Stay clear.

Selling your house? Stay clear!

Selling your house? Stay clear of Keenan's. After an agreed sale on our house, I had been chasing Keenan's for weeks for a for a response from the buyer. This is normal Keenan's kept telling me. So I've now contacted the buyer directly as it seems Keenan's were incapable. Only to find out they buyer had emailed Keenan's 3 weeks ago to pull out of the sale and Keenan's had 'missed' the email as they put it. This isn't no excuse and left us in a very difficult position having to sell our house again when there is a whole chain of people waiting. Thanks for nothing. No offer of anything in way of fixing this other than them relisting. No thanks, thanks for nothing.

Highly Recommended

I thoroughly recommend Keenans, with whom my wife and I were extremely impressed as they dealt with the sale of our old house and the purchase of the new one through the coronavirus pandemic, terrible solicitors (ours, our buyer's and our vendors') and our initial sale falling through. Almost every member of staff we dealt with across several branches was professional, attentive, reassuring and efficient and I suspect if we'd gone with another estate agent, our sale and therefore purchase would have failed. We must single out Lewis, who kept things rolling, kept us sane and for whom nothing was too much trouble. They also did a great job of arranging block viewings, all in line with Covid safety measures, from which we got numerous offers at above the asking price. You may have noticed above that I said "almost every member of staff." There is an employee named Cree (or there was up until October 2020 at least), who after our sale was agreed we initially dealt with almost exclusively (until we refused to anymore). She is everything the other members of staff are not: blasé, arrogant, careless and absolutely terrible at her job. Anything we asked of her, she made seem like an imposition, and any questions were met with something approaching contempt. We suspect she is is related to the owner or a senior member of staff because we cannot imagine how she otherwise manages to remain employed... especially when everyone else is so good. So, make sure you insist on not dealing with Cree, but do use Keenans because they were great, and if we ever move again, we won't hesitate to call them first.

Bad property. Bad agent. Bad attitude.

Me my wife and child arrived early to view a property so we decided to have a look round the local area. Upon walking down a guinnel at the side of the house I noticed that the property was very grotty from the back. I decided to open the gate at the front and have a look. The lawn at the side was covered in pieces of brick and debris. The fence at the back was 8 feet tall and the struts imposed into the back garden so it was basically unusable. Upon returning to the front the agent was just arriving. He then had the audacity to tell me I was trespassing. He continued to be hostile for the rest of the visit and he made me and my wife very uncomfortable. There were no pictures of the gardens on the website and I'm glad I looked. I would advise other people to turn up early and look round as you never know what they may be hiding from you. I have never dealt with Keenans before and I am discouraged from dealing with them again.

GREAT SERVICE

I viewed a property with the team in Barnoldswick - the viewing representative and staff in the office were very helpful and friendly, they arranged the viewing ASAP and answered all my questions. Would 100% recommend.
