Tech support failure

I have been using iDrive for several years to backup our desktop and laptop PC. I have generally been quite happy with the product until now. Seven weeks ago iDrive started failing during online backup of one particular 256MB file. After many interactions with support they referred it to their "backend team". There has been no progress and not a word. I ping them every week and get the same response. I've had to resort to a local backup which I then copy to Google Drive. I will note that this is about 20X faster than IDrive online backup.

So far I am happy with iDrive.

I have only begun using iDrive. I have used other backup systems which seemed confusing to me so that I was never sure I was doing it correctly. So far, I like iDrive because it has a user-friendly interface for someone not really computer-savvy. I can back up to my external hard drive as well as the cloud, both backups can be accessed readily. I can backup on demand or on a pre-selected schedule. I have not yet tried the restore function. I have not yet made a mirror image of my computer, but to back up all my personal data took about 3 hours. Incremental backups take a few minutes. So far I am happy and have recommended iDrive to two people in my life.

Great Introductory Offer & User Friendly…

I got a great introductory offer and the software is more user friendly than the Acronis package I replaced it with. Understandably, the first full backup took a long time. But the second was completed in just five minutes as only amended or new files were needed.

Unreliable

I've been using them for a few years. The cloud-drive sync feature works great when it's working correctly. However, on three separate occasions over my time with them, my computers have come out of sync (file counts on the synced drive differ, and I can even identify specific unsynced files). The remedies have ranged to fairly easy (installing the most recent software--which for some reason wasn't happening on its own--then unlinking the computers from cloud-drive, then relinking) to the full nightmare problem of getting transferred to their dev team and then spending hours and hours on the phone before the problem is resolved. Long story short, this unreliability isn't a one-off. I worry about lost data, so I'm finally making the switch to another service.

Unprofessional Staff and Primitive Service

This is not a professional company. Their system is primitive and their support is India based. I do not recommend using them. They do not know how their product works and when you have a problem you're on your own. Avoid them for your own protection. I know they're cheap but might as well pretend you're backing up and spend zero money. It's pretty close to that.

Have used iDrive since 2023 and they…

Have used iDrive since 2023 and they had a "catastrophic error" occur 6 weeks ago with our business computers. Tech support had us do the exact same repairs and took a long time in-between emails to respond. My employee was unable to work during this time and to date, it's still not working. Uninstalling this afternoon. Their Blaise attitude for a business turned me off. I'll find someone who actually cares about their customers.

I would advise extreme caution

I would advise extreme caution, if you go over your limit by the smallest amount you will find money is taken from your bank account. If you miss the emails they automatically send (which are very similar to the daily backup status reports and their regular spam, so they are easy to miss) this can result in a large amount.

Your Cloud Drive software is terrible…

Your Cloud Drive software is terrible it keeps initializing, and the issue I reported is still unresolved. You’ve lost a customer. Keep your cheap plan with poor performance. I’d rather pay for Google’s 100GB storage, which offers reliable file syncing, than continue using iDrive Cloud Storage. I’m switching to Google 100GB now.

Ho perso tutto

Sfortunatamente devo lasciare un feedback negativo poiché non sono riuscito a farmi riattivare l’account che era da qualche mese disattivato in quanto avevano cancellato tutto. Dovrebbero mantenere archiviati i file per un periodo di qualche anno se vogliono fare un servizio più accettabile. Sconsiglio aggiungo che, dopo che mi avete richiesto di contattarvi. Vi ho contattato via chat, mi avete detto che non c'è nulla nello spazio cloud e avete terminato la chat senza chiedermi cosa si può fare o cosa vorrei fare. Complimenti bis! servizio pessimo!

Problems not being dealt with

I subscribed to iDrive a few months ago as I needed a replacement cloud backup after a bad experience with the last company I used. To begin with everything worked well and then all of a sudden the backups stopped and I was getting error messages saying I had no internet connection when the internet was working perfectly normally. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get the backups to run again and, in fact, I wasn't even able to log into the iDrive app so I attempted to do a live chat, which was an absolute waste of time. I then found a contact number for UK phone support and called them but, three or four calls later, I still have no cloud backup (for almost 4 weeks now) and, although the issue was supposed to have been escalated to a specialist, I've still not had a response and, quite frankly, I feel I'm probably not likely to get a response because the service has been abyssmal. If they'd sorted out the issues promptly, I would have been happy to recommend iDrive but, right now, I would urge you not to go with them because they simply do not care about their customers and their support staff don't seem to have a good level of training. Very poor service!!!

Abysmal performance. The website takes forever to load and navigate. I'm so frustrated I want to move away but all my data is housed there and it will take forever to download / move it. It's almost like they do this deliberately... F-

Still don't have my data

Because I lost a lot of data, I paid $100 to have my data sent on a drive. That was over 2 weeks ago. I have called every day, and each time I get bounced around, and no one can tell me when the drive will ship. It has been very frustrating, both the lack of transparency and the fact that I have been told it would ship by a certain date and it doesn't happen. As soon as I get the data, I will be cancelling my service.
