EWT system contaminated my water supplybought a water filter system in 2015…

We bought a water filter system in 2015 from EWT. In the last two months we have had problems with our dishwasher water inlet filters becoming blocked with a resin paste. Quite worrying because this is the same water as coming out of our taps to use. I couldn't work out where it was coming from. It turns out this resin paste was in fact resin balls leaking from EWT's water softener system. We had the system annually serviced by EWT so not happy that we have been using water contaminated with these resin balls. I have been asking EWT for a service for a number of weeks and still awaiting a response. I tried to remove the softener system from our water supply to find out that no isolation taps were fitted when it was installed.

Not Recommended – EWT is no longer what it used to be My last review of EWT was positive – I wrote it about 8 years ago when many of my neighbours were installing water softeners from this company. The first few years of use were absolutely fine. We were told that an annual service would keep our lifetime guarantee active. Although the service price increased year after year, it still felt like a good deal. Two years ago, I had my first issue with the filter. A technician came out and repaired it without any problem or charge. Unfortunately, in January of this year, the filter started leaking those small resin beads into the system again. This time, I was told the warranty only covers labour, not parts, so I had to pay for the repair. At the same time, several of my neighbours also began to complain about EWT’s customer service. I learned that the company had changed ownership – and ever since, it seems like they only care about making money rather than honouring their original commitments. It’s a real shame that such a good company with excellent service in the past has gone downhill like this. Never again.

Very disappointing customer service

Very disappointing customer service. I was instructed to contact them via the email address provided, which I did. However, it has been 48 hours, and I’ve received no response whatsoever. This level of service is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the company.

Matthew....an excellent service engineer.

Matthew, (service engineer) serviced our unit in March 2025. We have no hesitation, whatsoever, in recommending him. His courteous manner in answering our relevant queries was excellent. A very satisfied customer ....will definitely ask him to service our unit again.

Utterly disfunctional. No service and no refund for 6 weeks

I have been ordering online every year from them since 2020. The order made online on 20 February 2024 (fully paid) did not trigger anything apart from the transaction on my credit card: no email, no sms message. A week later I called and received the "we could not find your order" response. So much for the "you can order our services online". Eventually, I complained online and received an SMS message on 1-Mar-2024 saying "your appointment date will arrive to you by SMS within 5 working days". Of course, it didn't. Needless to say, no appointment ever materialised. I called them about 10 times ("we are having difficulties dispatching your order"). In my last call (26 Mar 2024) I was simply asking for my money back. The person on the phone said "I can refund you now or I booked you an appointment on Friday". I double checked whether they are aware it's a Good Friday and they sent me the date via SMS. Naturally, it was a blatant lie and nobody ever turned up. Right now they are not answering my calls. Update: money eventually refunded.

Service has gone down hill

Service has gone down hill , I was left with a quite substantial leak after the engineers visit had to phone 3 times to arrange for engineer to come back to fix but to no avail they arranged for a re-visit after 5 days later so I repaired it myself. What a nonsense I shall not be using EWT again.

I don't recommend EWT

The water softener is not that bad, but the customer care is horrible. It took me 2 weeks to get an appointment for an engineer to come and look at a salt bridge that started 1 week after we got the softener installed. My wife took a day off from work to be at home and they cancelled the appointment at the last minute. They are really fast at getting the softener installed in your home but if you have any problems after good luck. I don't recommend this company to anyone!!!!!

Lukasz Posim doesn't recommend EWT. 6 m Β· Shared with Public Very poor service. Ordered softener last December and until now it wasn't fit do to lack of stock. They cancelled my last appointment without telling me in the day of installation, I take a day of from work but I find out later on my self that appointment was cancelled do to lack of stock. Contacted Harvey Water Softeners professional company and the fit within couple of days πŸ˜‚ and offered great service.

EWT not honouring the 20 year warranty on my purchase from Feb 2014

I have had a Water Softener since Feb 2014, recently I noticed that the water was not being softened, following a service I was told the unit is at the end of life as it is now >10 years old and it is not covered under the warranty. They are still happy to sell me an expensive service plan. When checking my purchase information I found a book that states the warranty when bought was for 20 years, when I raised this with the company via their customer service email, I no longer get a response, when calling the customer service number they cannot help ask insist I email them

Rubbish after care service.

Rubbish after care service. Engineer are not fully qualified- I can say because I am an engineer. Better to get another company product than EWT. Customer care team never updates you about any lateness and delays and give excuse- I knew this because they wanted to arrange timing and I selected not flexible so end time they said can breakdown. Silly. They think customers doesn’t know anything.

Highly not recommended.

I wouldn’t even give it 0 if it was possible. Extremely disappointed with the service. I have been promised to be contacted regarding the issues I had with my water softener. I have been chasing the company for the past 3 months but not getting anywhere. Very unprofessional. Due to lack of engineer knowledge on their last visit to do service for my water softener. It caused my house flooded. Damaged all my kitchen and living room. Cost me over Β£15k to get everything back. But the company is not taking responsibility for it. Highly not recommended. I am still continuing to take them to court for the damage they have caused to my house.

Avoid this compaany!

Avoid this company! don't fall with their SALE prices Very difficult to connect their call. Wait time too long and after sales service is very expensive. The salt bag comes at only a 15kg high price whereas outside 25kg with the same price range.

Water Softner problems

I have lost count of the number of times I have contacted EWT (certainly in excess of 10) over the past few weeks to report leaks under my water softener unit and unit not working to Vincent, Kyle, Micheal etc. Lengthy delays in picking phone (if you get through), promising to call you back which never happens, promising to get an engineer to fix my unit. Never happens. What use is a water softner that does not work? In short dont buy from this company unless you want stress.

Worst company - AVOID AVOID EWT Watersoftner

The technicians who come to do service do not speak good English and they do not answer any questions you ask. If you ask questions they leave without doing service however they send out invoice confirming they did finished everything. If you contact care team they do not respond to emails or phone calls. Bottom line is please AVOID this company. They are just minting money from customers and doing nothing.
