EWT system contaminated my water supplybought a water filter system in 2015β¦
We bought a water filter system in 2015 from EWT. In the last two months we have had problems with our dishwasher water inlet filters becoming blocked with a resin paste. Quite worrying because this is the same water as coming out of our taps to use. I couldn't work out where it was coming from. It turns out this resin paste was in fact resin balls leaking from EWT's water softener system. We had the system annually serviced by EWT so not happy that we have been using water contaminated with these resin balls. I have been asking EWT for a service for a number of weeks and still awaiting a response. I tried to remove the softener system from our water supply to find out that no isolation taps were fitted when it was installed.
Not Recommended β EWT is no longer what it used to be
My last review of EWT was positive β I wrote it about 8 years ago when many of my neighbours were installing water softeners from this company. The first few years of use were absolutely fine. We were told that an annual service would keep our lifetime guarantee active. Although the service price increased year after year, it still felt like a good deal.
Two years ago, I had my first issue with the filter. A technician came out and repaired it without any problem or charge. Unfortunately, in January of this year, the filter started leaking those small resin beads into the system again. This time, I was told the warranty only covers labour, not parts, so I had to pay for the repair.
At the same time, several of my neighbours also began to complain about EWTβs customer service. I learned that the company had changed ownership β and ever since, it seems like they only care about making money rather than honouring their original commitments.
Itβs a real shame that such a good company with excellent service in the past has gone downhill like this. Never again.
Very disappointing customer service. I was instructed to contact them via the email address provided, which I did. However, it has been 48 hours, and Iβve received no response whatsoever. This level of service is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the company.
Matthew, (service engineer) serviced our unit in March 2025. We have no hesitation, whatsoever, in recommending him. His courteous manner in answering our relevant queries was excellent. A very satisfied customer ....will definitely ask him to service our unit again.
Most useless service I have come across. I upgraded my EWT softner recently to Harveys by EWT. Installation was blocking the driveway and EWT agreed to come and fix it.
EWT had agreed to send the engineer on 4th April to rectify the problem of the installation done recently. I On 4th April I took a holiday due to engineer's visit. I called several times on that day to EWT and no one responded, then called Woking number which the person helped to pass on the message. After that EWT called me to say that engineer can not come. So, I wasted my holiday.
Then I agreed for 25th April rescheduled date. I clearly wrote to EWT not to cancel at last minute. And that morning, I sent a reminder mail to EWT and I did not get any reply. Again I called Woking number and gentleman passed on the message to the engineer to give me a call. Engineer called and told that his manager asked him to go for another job and said Manager had told hime that he shall be calling me to inform about the cancellation yesterday. But no one had called. After engineer's call, Manager called to say no one can come today.
Then EWT gave me 3rd date of 2nd May in the morning slot. I sent an email to EWT asking about engineer visit and no response. Also,in the afternoon I called Harvey's Woking and person promised to call me about Engineer's visit and he did not call me back. At 4 o'clock EWT sent a mail about not turning up of the engineer and asked if it can be rescheduled next week.
I am very disappointed by the service and EWT take customers for granted.
I dont know when this shall be sorted as my neighbour has been complaining of blocking the common drive way.
This is not acceptable service, thinking customers dont have any other work only EWT are busy?
I am regretting for using Harveys and cant recommend to anyone.

I paid for a water softener service and salt delivery over a month ago, and Iβm still waiting for the service. The company has been unresponsive and unprofessional, leaving me without the product I paid for. Terrible customer service and a complete waste of time and money. Would not recommend.
Completely fraud company. The water softner they installed never works and after paying and calling their engineer who confirm it has been fixed, it never was. As a result we have had no water softner for over 2 years. AN outsider engineer came and verified this. This company should be reported to the authorities for fraud.
Avoid at all costs
I wanted to share my experience with the EWT Gold Series 606 water softener (now owned by Culligan Ireland) that I've had for about five years. Like many others, I made quite a big investment in this system, plus I've been paying around β¬200 every year for their maintenance service. The sales team convinced me it was worth it, promising the unit would last at least 10 years with regular servicing.
Just a couple of months ago, during my annual service, I noticed something odd - the salt level hadn't dropped for ages. I mentioned this to the engineer, but he brushed it off, saying the salt was just stuck and cleared it out. Well, wouldn't you know it, the unit suddenly stopped working shortly after and started making these awful beeping noises. I tried reaching out to customer service multiple times, but they couldn't have seemed less interested in helping.
Finally, they sent a technician who found that the head unit (basically a plastic piece that controls water flow) was broken. Their solution? Pay β¬380 for a replacement! After some back-and-forth, they dropped it to β¬300, or offered a new system for β¬650. Given the hard water in our area, I needed something working quickly and couldn't face starting over with another company, so I grudgingly went with the head unit replacement.
Here's what really gets me - this wasn't due to anything I did wrong. It's clearly just poor quality materials, and they should have replaced it free of charge. To add insult to injury, after Culligan took over EWT, they wiped out all my loyalty points from previous referrals and purchases without even a heads-up.
Bottom line? I wouldn't recommend these folks to anyone. The product quality is questionable, their customer service is frustrating at best, and they clearly don't care about their long-term customers. Save yourself the headache (and money) and look elsewhere for your water softener needs.
Terrible service, product seem inefficient... I have been using the water softener for a year and no decrease in limescale...
I am due for a filter change for about a month now, it kept being pushed. Until I got an appointment, but no one showed the day of the appointment.
Terrible customer service, i have been a customer for 10years. After my service my machine is now starting to have problems. It seemed like the engineer was more interested in selling me a new machine. Theyβve changed the salt bags as they have supposedly been taken over by Harvey's however before they used to say to only use the salt they sell but now the salt is completely different.
Ive been having issues with my water pressure after putting in the salt, i have contacted them several times, some times they answer most times they donβt when they call. Engineer was meant to be booked before Christmas. Nothing was done, rebooked a visit in January which i have no notification for, only when i chased them they said they booked in. They came 3hours earlier than the scheduled time slot, never called me as i was out. Still waiting for someone to come back.
Its shocking and disappointing, the services arenβt cheap i would expect to maintain good customer service with a product like this.
When challenged i get no answers, they just avoid the questions. I would stay clear!!!

I bought a water softener from ewt 3 years ago and you know how it is at the beginning when you spend 1000 euros everything is great
but later the customer service is very bad....
2nd year
asking for service for a month, finally someone comes, does the service but did something wrong and after 2 weeks they send another one
3rd year
a service technician comes, does the service but sets something wrong and pours water out of the water softener, another one comes after some time, sets almost everything because it did not restart the water softener and after a month the alarm goes off ....
my girlfriend calls them, they help to restart over the phone but after another month we check the water and somehow it is the worst ever .....
and so for 3 weeks we have been trying to contact them but to no avail ....
If there was an option to give a minus rating I would give EWT a minus 10. Happy to take your money but the service and after care in non existent. I have no water coming into my house because of their faulty equipment - spent 5 hours trying to get through on the phone, sent 10 plus emails, just totally stonewalled. The worst possible company to deal with, avoid like the plague.
Terrible company, now joined with Harvey's came to replace my old water-softener with a Harvey's one which of course we are paying for. Engineer took 3 hours to do an incomplete job said a part was missing and someone will come to finish off. EWT/Harvey's now chasing for payment saying they'll only complete when they've received payment! Nothing like that was agreed very unprofessional. You can never speak to anyone. Avoid at all costs
