Terrible company, shocking communication
Our experience with Conveyancing Direct was a total letdown. It felt like we were completely in the dark, especially as first-time buyers, thanks to their lousy communication. Going through the complaints process, we were constantly brushed off, pretty much putting all of the blame on us for not magically understanding a process we hired them to guide us through. One of the most frustrating things was receving all of the crucial documents we needed, including the fixture and fittings form, DAYS before exchanging. Most of these documents were dated four months prior to this but apparently that's completely normal to be unaware of the details of the house you are buying until it's too late? I know solicitors are typically slow and require you to chase a lot, but when the company are failing to reply to complaints within their own 'prescribed time frame', you know something is wrong. And when they eventually did, they managed to send it to the wrong email addresses entirely - superb attention to detail. If you are purchasing through Connells and have been connected to this company, don't do it. Just Google a well-reviewed local solicitors and use them. Our sellers were also using Conveyancing Direct and we thought it would make the whole process smoother, but I don't think they were handled by the same office, let alone the same team/person. And if they were, I have absolutely no idea how they can manage it so poorly as the reason we were forced to exchange so quickly at the end of the process was due to how frustrated the seller was with them too. There's plenty more we could mention, but in short: avoid them at all costs. The endless bad reviews speak for themselves.

Incompetent
Was advised by our estate agent R A Bennett that using their solicitors would make the process easier. It was horrific, genuinely incompetent people. 1 year after moving we've received an email telling us the paperwork they compiled at completion was incorrect.

Another terrible solicitor
Another typical solicitor that wouldn't do work without you pushing them. Our remortgage deadline passed and when we called them on the first day after the deadline, they still haven't assigned our case to a caseworker! After we talked with them and pushed them the case proceeded quickly however due to their mishandling, we had to pay £1140 interest! When we complained, they said that they handled the case in fair timings.

I don't recommend it to anyone
I don't recommend it to anyone. Buying a flat that has been empty for a year. My transaction has been going on for 6 months now and don't know when is finish. Well my mortgage offer will finish in 2 weeks time so maybe then. I have never seen such unprofessional lawyers. Arrogant, no empathy for the customer. Emily, who is in charge of my purchase, cannot cope at all. On April 30, they collected the fee for searches and only ordered it on May 20, joke. Update: Even better just find out that the sellers are on holiday and they are not available!!!

DO NOT USE These not only cost more than any other property solicitor they also take much much longer 5 months into a no chain purchase and still no further along than we was on day one, constantly saying oh one last thing, never answering questions, no communication, sellers solicitors have been ready for over 6 weeks but not these AVOID AT ALL COST

Avoid at all costs. Our buyer's were using this totally incompent company and it took over 6 months to finally complete. Our solicitor's emails were being ignored and they kept blaming delays on other agencies such as Land Registry and Highways. As a seller I contacted them out of desperation and was told very bluntly that I was not to contact them again as it was a conflict of interest!! I was merely trying to get some answers to the constant BS. If you value your sanity and want a stress free house move then swipe left!! It amazes me how this company are still trading given all the bad reviews.

Adequate service
These were the solicitors recommended by my new mortgage provider when going through my first remortgage. With previous solicitors I received a courteous telephone call introducing themselves to me and setting expectations of process. I did not receive any calls from these solicitors. I called a few times to clarify about mortgage payments and crossover of payments to get limited information from them. Two weeks before completion was billed with admin fees that I was not made aware of clearly at any point of process. I was also given an incorrect amount and was charged extra - unless I asked a breakdown of these would have likely not been corrected. Was grateful to speak to a deputy manager about this when clarity was needed as my case handler was not forthcoming.
