I made my first ever purchase of Bulk Supplements L-glutamine and creatine powders, and a bottle of multivitamins in Nov 2024. When I opened the L-glutamine the consistency and color were correct, but the smell - holy cow! I've never had a supplement powder smell like rotting flesh before. When I contacted customer service the woman said she was sorry I was disappointed, but assured me their products are of the highest quality. Being reasonable, i simply asked for a replacement bag because I understand that things happen, but I've received nothing but push-back and gaslighting about how great their products are. She even told me I was likely smelling the nitrogen gas they use to remove the extra oxygen from their bags during packaging. This is concerning given 1) nitrogen gas is colorless, odorless, and tasteless, and 2) there is now added chemical disclosure on their website.
I was told I could process a refund and cover shipping myself, but honestly, with the cost of shipping these days I'm out less money just throwing the L-glutamine in the trash and calling it a loss. I suppose that's what Bulk Supplements counts on for their profit margins.
Ultimately, BS immediately lost a customer in me, and most likely my son and his friend, despite them purchasing from BS several times. I am also planning to report this and possibly contact an attorney to see what can be done to safeguard consumers. I understand that supplements aren't FDA regulated, but false and misleading advertising is, as well as basic consumer safety.
