Moving Property with Bord Gais
I recently switched over to Bord Gais and signed up to a plan with a 38% discount on gas & electricity. I'm in the process of moving house and rang up BG to understand the moving process and I was told that I have to close my account and re-open once I'm in my new property. However, they are now telling me my current plan is no longer available and that they can only offer a 10% discount. Its an absolute disgrace how my existing plan is not being honoured just because I'm switching properties. They are well able to break the contract due to their own operational inefficiencies but yet they are telling me that I will have to pay an exit fee if I do not sign up to them in my new property (Paying higher rates at a lower discount). The level of customer service is shocking and these energy companies are robbing us.
