Bitdefender has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
I am having great difficulty trying to cancel auto-renewal of a Premium VPN subscription with Bitdefender. Bitdefender want to renew at 100% rate when online they are advertising a 50% discount!!! Their "Contact Us" link constantly times out. What to do?
Had them for 5 years. The best protection, I have never had any PC issue and im online all the time. BUTTT last year, a staff use my debit card to purchase $400 of sport betting. Thank GOD my bank USAA blocked them for suspicious activity I wont be using them anymore since they are now $80 a year and the staff are thieves and NORTON 360 has a promotion for 15usd a year... yeah no brainer

Zunächst muss festgestellt werden, dass es nicht möglich ist bei Bitdefender einen Vertrag zu verfolgen. Am 15.08.2024 bekam ich den Hinweis, dass mein seit dem 29.09.2023 genutztes Bitdefender-Produkt in Kürze verlängert wird, Auftragsnummer 1107384634339. Zu diesem angeblichen Auftrag gibt es weder eine Auftragsbestätigung, noch eine Abbuchung der Kosten. Am 15.09.2024 erhielt ist die Mitteilung, dass ich ein Bitdefender-Abo abgeschlossen hätte, Auftragsnummer 143288448600, 84,99 € wurden für den angeblich abgeschlossenen Vertrag Bitdefender Total Security, 5 Geräte, 1 Jahr, abgebucht. Ja, ich habe tatsächlich einen Vertrag abgeschlossen, bei BESTSOFTWARE - Bitdefender Security, 5 Geräte, Laufzeit 3 Jahre - bis zum 14.10.2026, Bestellnummer 10438823. Achtung: eine Kostenerstattung wird bisher abgelehnt, es wird hierfür eine teuere Laufzeitverlängerung angeboten, was ich ablehne. Im Alter von 78 Jahren ist man vorsichtig. Heute erhielt ich die Bitte eine nicht bestellte Aktivierung abzuschließen, so arbeite Bitdefender. Ich werde den bis 2026 laufenden Vertrag nicht verlängern, der Umgang mit Kunden ist Unterirdisch.

Ich bin seit Jahren mehr als zufrieden mit BD. Klar bezahle ich für ein Abo, es es schützt seit Jahren alle meine Geräte, hatte zum Glück noch nie ein Befall. (Klopf Holz). Support ist auch rund um die Uhr da. Leider finde ich die Lösung mit 3 Bezahlsystemen, wo man dann sein Abo verwalten kann, echt blöd. Ich hab nämlich keinen Zugriff drauf und der Support muss alles für mich klären. Ich würde mein Abo lieber auch in der Bitdefender Central App verwalten, man kann es ja auch da mit 2-Faktor schützen, falls die Sicherheit ein Thema ist.

Initially, I thought that being covered for 3 devices, would, cover what most individuals use, ie Dektop/Laptop plus Mobile and ipad/tablet. This proved be not be the case and after a few emails my subscription was refunded.

Ex Kaspersky user here, as it's banned in the U.S., so I'm hard to please. I chose Bitdefender because it ranked consistently high in reports by the 4 top independent security testers over the last 2.5 years, at a touch less expense than its peers. My version is Bitdefender Ultimate (not Plus). It's nimble with minimal impact on system speed and instant response to threats. Anyone who tells you that computing security is simple is blowing smoke. Nevertheless, if you simply want to slap a security package onto your machine and get on with your hectic life, Bitdefender will herd you on safe pathways. If instead you want to peer under the hood, tweak Settings, and "make it your own", you're in for a bit of a learning curve ... Although Bitdefender's design is generally intuitive, you should download and study a copy of its User Guide and become familiar with its Community Forum. Its Settings are arranged in layers under categories, explore them to find what you want. Its descriptions and messages are terse but generally complete. Its just a matter of getting acquainted. Bitdefender Ultimate includes ID-theft protection. To make full use of this will require substantial user effort, but there is much useful information to be gained, and Bitdefender's monitoring is extensive and thorough. Because some versions of Bitdefender offer unlimited VPN (Virtual Private Network), a word for those who use Windows hibernate (because they intentionally enabled it in Windows Power Options). No matter whose VPN you use, if it's running when your system enters hibernation, your internet connection may break after your system awakens from hibernation (there are plenty of articles about this on the web), and it may remain broken until you restart the system. Simple solution: disconnect VPN before initiating hibernation, then restart VPN after your system awakens from hibernation. Because of VPN and other questions - some arising from insufficient acquaintance with Bitdefender - I have interacted several times with its support staff. They know their product; they're not merely desk jockeys reading fixed scripts. They are respectful; there is no automatic assumption of "operator error". They're pretty good at guessing your level of technical expertise and providing clear instructions. Yes, TrustPilot, this review is based on genuine experience without incentive, unless one counts strong security and excellent customer service as incentives; but I paid for them, so we're even.
