Ancestry.com has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and reliable, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Review bombed, here is why. Originally I loved the service. However, I accidentally left a $70 subscription active. This...Read more

Seemed like a canned analysis. Names popping up, however, are doors to be opened, questions to be answered. I have addi...Read more

I thought I paid for DNA With Traits! I also feel My DNA isn't showing everything about my Heritage. Also have been away from my Ancestry account for so long and wanting to start again are a goal I will never reach.
Everything on this website is only accessable by buying a lot of subscriptions... And each of them is very expensive.
This is a beautiful experience I can’t wait to finish exploring
cancelled my subscription because i couldn't afford to keep it , and i got a $25.00 fee? you're joking. what a rip off ! nobody should have to be charged a cancellation fee when they can't afford to keep a subscription.
Seeing a picture of my Great Grandfather was surreal. But I want to learn more about him, not just the census information. Where did he live? Obviously since he was born in the early 1800s in Atlanta, he was a slave. With who? is my next question. I already know my Grandmother's history, but her Father and Mother is where I want to go next and maybe even my Great-Great Grandparents. Finally I saw my DNA took me to West Africa. Hopefully the further I can trace my Grandparents the closer it brings me to when my Ancestors first came here. My actual Ancestors (specific) not just general and common knowledge. Is that a possibility?
Really disappointed with the results. The DNA results revealed much less than I already knew about my family tree. If I had been starting my ancestral research from these DNA results I’d have got nowhere and, with one bizarre outlier geographical result, lead up a garden path. On reading the small print the margins of error are relatively large. So a 1% reading for a very specific geographical source area is caveated in the small print as actually “between 0-4%” which in my case is certainly 0% as the result is such an enormous outlier. I’m sure for others, especially those living where mass immigration has occurred in the past (think eg USA, Australia) the DNA testing might produce useful and interesting information. But remember, DNA gets, roughly, randomly split 50-50 from your parents and so on back up the line and there’s no way of knowing what DNA has not been passed to you. So if you have ancestors you know are from a far away land a long time ago but aren’t sure where, there is a chance that none of their DNA reaches you and then the DNA results won’t help your search.
It is a exciting waiting but it is worth it
Was not happy as they don't give you anything for what I paid
Never asked for my mother’s or my maiden name. Info about my grandmother is totally wrong. Very disappointing.
It says my results are in but It’s not telling me shit. Very difficult to find any results. Very disappointed in this ancestry.
To get the information, I just have to pay more money with each step.
I liked the service
Have no idea cannot get into my information and the lack of customer service with useless BOT isn't helping. Monday and Tuesday the 14th and 15th Ill try to address the situation. So far i'm not expecting much though this has been going on since Christmas 2024 with a gift subscription from my daughter In law. I have much more but why bother you really don't give a damn. Ancestry overwhelmed my inbox with excessive commercial offers. I do not like the inundation.
Honestly, the app is difficult to use. I don't get it. I can't quite navigate putting people into my tree that I know I'm related to (siblings, parents) that have done the testing. Maybe its easier on a computer, either way, I gave up after an hour. Not to mention that i canceled the trial membership or whatever once they messed up my sample and made me do another one. I knew the time period would run out before my 2nd sample had completed testing. I know I canceled it then. Lo and behold $100 comes out of my account for this membership I didnt and know I canceled. I figured since I paid for it, I may as well use it, but the app wasn't user friendly or helpful and it made me sign up for newspapers dot com just so I could see that there's a person with my name and age living where I used to live that isn't me. Weird. Now I have to cancel that too, but I'll make sure to screen shot that one in case they charge me
My daughter’s sample results came back quickly and appear to be somewhat accurate based on what we know of our nationality. However, my sample was received the same time as my daughters but my results took longer to come back and do not appear to be accurate based on what we know of our nationality.
Not terrific.
I cannot get into my account or my results? Why make it so difficult?😞 Dissapointed
Kan ikke se hvorfor der ikke er flere sprog. Det burde være det nemmeste i verden at lave flere sprog. Derfor virker det i mine øjne halvhjertet.
