This used to be the best paid ancestry site but they are going downhill fast. They need to stop making updates to the site. They need to come up with a checklist when making changes to verify they didn't break anything. They then need to sit their developers down and make them create their own trees and see how mangled the information now is and start fixing all the problems. In the past it used to link a lot of people on a given record. Now on most records it doesn't even link the parents when they are clearly listed in the preview. Hyperlinks are now embedded in the titles of records and the actual link section. Recently they broke that as the link section no longer displays the hyperlink correctly. Importing information from there sister site newspapers.com is now broken and not importing information they way it used to a few weeks ago. That has always been kind of a pain and now it is much worse. The list goes on and on. For the high price of their service they need to start doing a lot better.
I enjoy the tree making however it is proving an expensive hobby, once the introductory deal is over I will not continue my subscription. Also, I ordered the DNA test and am really disappointed. It doesn't make any sense to me and when I contacted for help I was given a wordy answer abotu DNA being complex. I was actually told to get a sample of DNA from my parents to confirm more of my heritage. Unfortunately they have both passed away and the ancestry website actually states that they don't need DNA from others to find your origins. The vague journeys also don't make any sense so overall not worth your money.
So far. What I am looking for is a way to connect with anyone of same family. Unfortunately I never knew my father, his name, or what he looks like. That is my hope in connecting to Ancestry. My origin does match up with what little my mother told me.
Saber mis orígenes es muy importante para mí.
I am very much eager to learn of my past and presence relatives. Glad ancestry is available to assist in the search.
This time my Ethnicity results with my blood line last name Donnelly did NOT come back with ANY Irish ancestry, although my paternal side is from Cavan, Ireland. When I had my DNA done back in 2016, with my biological father's adopted name McWhorter, no blood line to us, my Ethnicity results were 17% Irish. My DNA DID NOT CHANGE, JUST MY LAST NAME! So I think your DNA is a FARCE!
I cannot recommend Ancestry.com enough for anyone looking to delve into their family history. My journey with them has been nothing short of exceptional, particularly due to their incredible DNA testing service, the remarkable ease of use of their website and app, and the impressive accuracy of their findings. The DNA testing service was a revelation. From the moment the kit arrived, the instructions were clear and straightforward, making the sample collection process incredibly simple. The anticipation of the results was exciting, and Ancestry.com kept me informed every step of the way, providing updates on my sample's progress. When the results came in, I was genuinely captivated. The ethnicity estimate was detailed and insightful, offering a fascinating breakdown of my ancestral origins, even highlighting specific regions I had never considered. What truly blew me away, however, was the DNA matching feature. Connecting with previously unknown relatives, some quite close, has been an incredibly moving and enriching experience, opening up entirely new avenues for family research and connection. Beyond the DNA, the ease of use of Ancestry.com's website and app is truly commendable. The interface is intuitive and well-designed, making navigation a breeze. Whether I'm on my computer or using the mobile app, I can effortlessly search through records, explore my family tree, and manage my DNA results. The "hints" system is particularly helpful, guiding me to potential new ancestors and records with remarkable precision. Everything is laid out logically, allowing me to focus on discovery rather than struggling with technicalities. Finally, the accuracy of Ancestry.com's information has consistently impressed me. The DNA results, while estimates, have aligned remarkably well with known family history, and the continuous updates to their reference panels only improve the precision. When building my family tree, the historical records they provide are often well-sourced and highly reliable, giving me confidence in the connections I make. It's clear that Ancestry.com invests heavily in maintaining a vast and accurate database, which is invaluable for any serious genealogist or curious individual. In summary, Ancestry.com has provided an outstanding platform for exploring my heritage. The seamless DNA testing, user-friendly interface, and the high degree of accuracy in their data make it an indispensable tool. If you're considering a deep dive into your family's past, Ancestry.com is undoubtedly the best place to start.
I love everything about the Ancestry wow so many things that I learned about myself

One thing they have is good customer service, they went above and beyond to help me.

Very easy, kept you updated on process. Very pleased with this company
Excelente experiencia e interesante
Getting results took over 2 months and lots of the features are expensive if you want to view them, especially for ongoing fees. The DNA segment was cool and I'd do it again, I just was shocked at how long it took, even after paying to have the DNA fast tracked.
First, my first DNA test sample had been lost, either from U.S. Postal Service or by Ancestry.com. Secondly, my test results still took a very long time to analyze. Afterwards, the results provided less information than I expected, but was given the option to purchase additional access to ancestral records. I could match much of this same family information with the actual family records I had in my possession. Overall the results were disappointing.
What would really make the DNA match helpful is an AI program to filter through matching family trees for repeating surnames. That would be really helpful. As it is now it's slow and cumbersome if you have family surnames that are not common.
I was sent an email stating my results were available. I used the link but it didn’t work I’ve emailed Ancsstry but no response yet to sort it out. Very disappointing.
