Review summary
Warner Leisure Hotels receives consistently positive reviews. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Our stay was at Holme Lacey House near Hereford. One of the Warner Leisure hotels. We visited the market garden restaurant for breakfast and Dinner when we noticed that the buffet food on the centre stall underneath the skylight window was crawling with green-bottle flies, they were also crawling on the mirror behind our table. For this reason we avoided selecting food from this area so our choice of buffet was limited to hot food only.
I believe this was wholly unacceptable and constituted a safety hazard that could have resulted in an illness.
We have visited other Warner hotels so much so that we are platinum guests and have never experienced this before.
I have stayed at 13 of the Warner Sites. Most recently was my 6th stay at Heythrop Park, my favourite of them all. The sheer expanse of the place is breathtaking. With a choice of 3 superb restaurants to dine in and 2 entertainment venues to enjoy visiting acts or the in-house entertainment team, it is the perfect place for a break.
Warner have brought in a policy of not servicing rooms the day after arrival. This is appalling. We pay a lot of money to stay at Warner, we should not have to do our own housekeeping. We are disgusted about this new policy.
This was the first stay at The Runneymede on Thames, we have stayed at many Warner's before. We were welcomed at the reception and given our keys. There is only one small lift which is suppose to hold 6 but when you get wheelchairs in there is not much room even for the carer. Food was not as good as he has been other times and the activities which are now charged for was not good either. Prices had gone up with drinks etc but there was now a service charge on drinks brought to your table. The entertainment was very good and the room was clean and tided each day. We have decided that this would be our last Warner's holiday as we cannot see things getting any betteer
Had phoebe and lorna look after us during our weekend stay if warner look after these two like they looked after us then the world would be a great place. Can't thank them enough and well done to finding these two to be part of your team x

Had a good stay a cricket st Thomas, great tribute act Deano as Phil Collins.
Unfortunately theres a but, I was given a range of reasons why the bathroom heated towel rail was on a timer for Health and safety to energy saving. The issue is the timer only functions for 2hrs which is not enough time to get the towel rail up to a decent temperature. I did post a complaint and received a telephone call where I was fobbed off. They are well aware of this issue but are not taking an positive action.
I've never stayed in a hotel where the bathroom is unheated.
We regularly visit Norton Grange, in the Isle of Wight, we went last week got an amazing deal, and thoroughly enjoyed it, the food , entertainment , staff were great, a big shout out to Andy , concierge , and waiter, who was amazing, helpful and kind, every time we come. Thank you Andy for helping to make our break enjoyable, getting our table we liked.
Study the Terms & Conditions carefully before you book a Warners break. They expect you to pay in full 12 weeks before the break. You cannot take out their cancellation insurance within this period before the break. If you have to cancel the break for what ever reason even in exceptional circumstances do not expect any refund or credit towards another break. Even if Warners can justify charging you the cost of accommodation not used how can they justify the charge made for food not provided. Despite having had many breaks with them will not be booking any more under these terms.
We have had a lovely long weekend at Thoresby. All the staff were very helpful and polite.
On arrival, we were made very welcome. The buildings and grounds were amazing. There was plenty of different walks and activities.
Food was plentiful, good range, and included vegetarian items (which I like).
The evening entertainment was very good, and we enjoyed the walks and talks that were put on.
On the Monday morning we left to return home.
It wasn't until we arrived home that I could not find my front door key. Soon after that I seemed to be missing my glasses, luckily I still had my old pair so could see OK. After looking in our case and bags again, we contacted Thoresby the next morning. They had my items thankfully. (left in the room) and they would post my things to our home. Later that day when I was going to shop I could not find my purse! Contacted Thoresby again and they said yes they had put that in the package too, plus a pen that I had also left! Today my items arrived. I am so thankful to the person finding them in our room and also the person that packaged my items.
Huge THANKS to all involved with my missing items. I can't thank you all enough.
Love and best wishes

Title: A Disheartening Experience – Discrimination and Unjustified Treatment
I recently visited [Hotel Name] with my wife and 6-year-old daughter, and I must say it was one of the most disappointing and disheartening experiences I’ve had. The hotel itself is beautiful from the outside, but the treatment I received left me with a bitter taste, especially as a person of color.
Upon arriving at the bar, I was simply told, "We can't serve you." Confused, I asked why, and they informed me that I wasn't a resident of the hotel. However, I have stayed at this hotel before as an outsider, so this reasoning didn’t sit right with me. When I inquired further about how they could identify who was a resident and who wasn’t, they stated that they “know all the residents off the top of their heads.” That was a red flag. I felt immediately discriminated against, as no valid reason was provided, and I was singled out in an unjust and unprofessional manner.
Seeking some resolution, I called for the manager. However, my hopes for a solution were dashed when she simply backed up her staff’s actions, leaving me feeling even more dismissed and unsupported. It was clear that, despite the beautiful exterior, the management was unwilling to address or acknowledge the issue.
Racism and discrimination are alive and well at this establishment, and it’s disheartening to know that people of color are still treated in such a manner. I left the hotel feeling frustrated and bitter, realizing that this experience will forever overshadow my memories of what could have been a pleasant visit.
To my fellow people, I would strongly advise staying away from this hotel if you value dignity, respect, and fair treatment. The outward beauty is not worth the inner horror you might face.
Don't make promises you cant or don't intend to keep!!
We had taken two crystal glasses to use in our room for our valentines weekend away in 2024. we have done this for many years without a problem. However, this time at Nidd Hall the glasses were removed from our room by the cleaners and couldn't be found!
after two or three meetings with the duty manager who said they had searched for them they were unable to find them but asked for a description and they would source a replacement!.
My wife has emailed the manager three times !!
first response was we are still looking into it. the second and third emails were ignored.
We travel with a group and have a regular circuit of Warner Hotels we visit.
Nidd Hall is no longer on our list and alternatives are being looked at for the valentines weekend.
Lot of money for you to lose!!
WARNING
If you book a 3 night stay for say £600 and due to circumstances beyond your control and can only stay 2nights you would expect the £600 to drop to £400
However, Warners have a different way of calculating and simply reduce by approx £40.
Unbelievable.
It's Like staying in an hotel for 3 nights then you change to 2 nights you only pay for 2 nights.
Warners you charge enough so stop ripping off your customers.
A very welcoming stay last night to celebrate Mums 80th Birthday at Home Lacey. Mum,Dad and family stayed 3 nights and I stayed last night for Mums Birthday.
Despite Mum not wanting to celebrate her Birthday, Cherry made our stay very comfortable and special for Mum.
All staff very friendly, who all look as if they are enjoying their role within the hotel. A few special mentions:
Lisa- Mum thinks the world of you, always smiling and making us feel very welcome on the dance floor to learn new moves. Thanks for being flexible with your working day and presenting Mum with her cake.
Matt: patient supporting me learn to crossbow, a great sense of humour 😀
Ollie - front of house on reception, you have greeted me a few times, taken my telephone enquires. Great service 😀
Jack - your voice, incredible.
Cherry - Many thanks for making a special day happen, you have been a true star with organising our day.
Kitchen staff - food incredible with a great choice.
Well done Home Lacey, Mum and Dad will be back again very soon 😀😀
Went Fleetwood mac tribute, fantastic. Shame about accommodation, which is usually very good as we have been sinah warren 7 times. Royal room ,very tierd ,draft coming through window ,black mould ,room Lord Nelson. Very cold until you got in your bed.
