We signed up to V4 Consumer on the promise of “up to 24Mbps” broadband. In reality, the best speed we’ve ever had is 12Mbps, and on several occasions it has dropped to 0Mbps despite showing a signal. It’s completely unreliable. We have had to just use the data on our mobile phones while in the house. When we raised this issue months ago, they admitted there were no upgrades planned in our area. Their only “solution” has been to offer a small discount on our monthly bill, which to me is an admission that the service isn’t good enough. But they still refuse to let us leave the contract without paying a huge termination fee (north of £300). I have now reported this company to the Ombudsman. Terrible service, unhelpful support, and a company that clearly doesn’t care about its customers. In my opinion this is a scam company. Avoid V4 Consumer at all costs.
