Worst Company We Have Dealt With.

We do about 150 rental properties a year so we have a pretty good idea of good vs bad. They had a glitch in their system (which according to them happens all the time). Ended up running our payment four times...$8k vs $2k. Called customer service to try and resolve the issue...after 5 different people and no supervisor the solution was they would cancel the reservation and return the funds in 3-5 business days. No apology, no how can we make this up to you...just this happens all the time. Worst company we have ever dealt with.

1st review ever -- terrible rental company.

First review ever -- I hate that I'm even doing this but they were an awful company to have to deal with. I had to contact this company to get updated on a lost item every single day for a week. I was finally told that the item wasn't found and that the support ticket I had opened was closed two days ago. Totally unprofessional, especially considering the fact that I called them both the day it was closed and the day after and neither representative had mentioned that the cabin was cleaned, the item wasn't located, or that the ticket was closed. Lastly, we spent nearly $5000 on the cabin. We dealt with a huge insect problem, 90+ degrees all weekend, not one window had a single screen on it. The outdoor furniture had all of its cushions removed and was nowhere to be found, both fridges in the cabin weren't working properly so half our food we brought spoiled, and we used coolers as makeshift fridges. I can't speak for other rentals, but if this company manages them the same way they did this one, and have this sort of careless response to a simple lost item inquiry, I feel like it's a strong indicator that you should avoid renting from TurnKey. My issue could have been resolved so much easier, and instead they absolutely blew me away with their lack of clarity and contradictory information. Fully aware it's my fault I left something, but I expect a company to follow through on what they tell me and have the decency to not close a support ticket without informing me that it was closed via a call/text/email. Very lame.

We love this property is great

We love this property is great, very clean and organized , lots of amenities washer/dryer, fireplace, kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals if you choose not to go out , and the views from the balcony are great. Just a few steps from the beach and the heart of town, easy walk to multiple restaurants and shops .

We had a great time

We had a great time. The house was clean and just as advertised. The area was nice and the public beach access was really close. However, I would not suggest walking it with all of your beach gear. There were really only 2 negatives. One, internet/cell service was not the greatest, but we were on vacation so it was not a big deal. Second, the dryer took a really long time to dry. Other than those two things, it was a blast.

Beautiful cabin

Beautiful cabin, amazing views! Cabin was exactly as described, and Clean! We ate all but 2 meals in the cabin. Every amenity was there, all we needed was groceries. We spent a week with 4 young adults(17-21) and 2 parents. Plenty of room. Everyone loved it! Blue tooth speakers everywhere were a hit for the kids. Theater room, pool table, hot tub... I mean does it get any better? We would come back for sure! The only draw back, the road is very windy, many blind spots, no railings. The house sits 10 minutes up off the main road. We were hoping to let the kids take the car and go into town, the road up was too tricky for them to do that.

Do not trust

Reserved a condo in Myrtle Beach directly with TurnKey in May for the week of July 10-17. Paid the balance in full on June 11th. Received a confirmation text on July 3rd stating they were anticipating my arrival and providing the door code for entry into the condo. At 4pm on Wednesday, July 7th, I received an email, text and phone call within several minutes notifying me that my reservation was being canceled because my condo was no longer available and that I would receive a full refund within 3 business days. They provided no explanation as to why the condo was no longer available. Other than a 10% discount off a future booking, there was no offer to help find another condo for my family and no offer to compensate the expense I will incur for flights and attempting to rebook with 3 days notice. After 3 phone calls they offered to consider some amount of compensation. They stated they would call me back. 2 days and I am still waiting on a return phone call. Update July 12- never received a call back so I called them. I still haven’t received my refund 5 days later. The customer service rep told me it wasn’t actually processed until Friday the 9th so I probably won’t receive until 2 days from now. They agreed to compensate me a minimal amount for their poor service but unclear when I will receive. At the end of the day a simple admission that they screwed up would have been nice but that seems to be beyond them. Will definitely not book through them again.

Great house for my Dad's 60th!

We booked this house for my Dad's 60th birthday. It had enough rooms and beds for 9 adults. 3 kids slept on air mattresses. There was a gas grill available to use that a previous guest must have left, which was helpful! The house is walking distance from the sound side of the beach. You can access the beach through Mitchelville park across the street. You can walk to the beach with a wagon full of stuff in about 15 or 20 minutes and that was nice. The house had everything we needed and plenty of space for all 12 of us. It is right in the flight path of planes taking off and landing at the airport though!! We really enjoyed the airplanes, but they started around 7:30 in the AM sometimes during our stay and lasted until 8 or 9 PM. We would stay here again.

TKVR NIGHTMARE Vacations

Run, don’t walk away from TKVRs!!! The following are true and accurate events, despite the absolute absurdity of the events! I booked a cabin with TKVR via VRBO. I made a mistake of using my debit card to book the property. I soon received an email stating; my card had been declined. I immediately checked my account and not one, but two charges had been authorized by my bank. In fact, TKVR continued to run my card. By this time, the bank shut down the card. I contacted TKVR and they told me my card was declined, despite providing them with the authorization number from my bank, for both charges. I asked TKVR to cancel the charges. TKVR told me since they didn’t actually receive funds, they can’t cancel the two authorized charges. I contacted my bank and relayed this information. The bank stated they could not remove the charges since both were authorized. Luckily, my bank worked with me and removed one of the $1,200 charges. I waited a little over a week, and the other $1,200 charge finally “fell off”, crediting the funds back to my account. I should note, during all of this, the rental price increased. A little over a week later, since my wife was really looking forward to staying at this property, I thought I would attempt to book the same property for the now increased price. I opened my VRBO account and saw the same property still available. Learning my lesson from the first nightmare, I used a different credit card this time. I booked through VRBO and everything appeared fine. Soon I received another email stating my card had been declined. How can that be? I checked there is plenty of credit and I use this card often. Then it hit me, they charged the wrong card? Sure enough they did! Here was another $1,200+ charge. I immediately prevented any additional charges and called TKVR. I can honestly say I was very frustrated at this point. As I explain to the first TKVP representative, after numerous button sequences, what has happened, she hangs the phone up on me. Granted my voice was loud and firm, but no foul language or other than factual comments had ensued. I call back and go through the maze of buttons a second time. This time I’m connected to a very jovial representative. Oh, but this is about to change. I explain what happened and asked how they know which card to choose and why do they even have both cards? The answer to the first part seems quite clear and reasonable, “we charge what ever card VRBO sends us”. Got it!! The answer to the second part of the question takes a turn to the improper and unreasonable. I was told they made the card I attempted to use on the previous canceled booking, my “default card”. I told her I did not authorize for the card to be stored as my “default card”. I also said this was a new booking on a new card. She did confirm TKVR received the new card with the new booking from VRBO. I asked “why didn’t they follow their normal procedures and charge the new card from VRBO”, as she earlier stated? Her response: “we had the other card as default, so that’s what we charged”. Keep in mind, another $1,200+ had just been taken from my checking account. I asked “who makes the choice which card to use”? She says “we don’t make a choice, we use the default card on file”. I said “that IS making a choice”. She says “no it’s not, we used the card on file”. Maybe you can see where this is going? I explained to her my previous booking was cancelled, the debit card was charged and TKVR had still showed the card declined. Why was this declined card now the “default card”? She said “it’s the default card unless you call us or click the box in the manage payment field of the booking confirmation”. When the 1st booking was canceled, I didn’t want to continue that cancelled booking by paying a third time. Why would I consider changing a “default card”? Now she says “you should have known we store it and it’s just common sense”. Wow! “I explained I’m not clairvoyant”. By now, she sent me the new booking showing paid in full, after running it on the card provided by VRBO with this new booking. I asked her to show me where I can make the change to the default payment as she previously indicated. She scrolls down the page, as I follow along on my copy of the email. Guess what, it’s NOT there!!!! Because the booking is within 30 days of the occupancy date, no option to “manage payment” is provided. The exact same as the first booking, also within 30 days!!! So this ability to check for TKVR to maintain a “default card of file” isn’t available. So I again ask how could I have known you stored the first card? This went on for a bit. Finally, she says “stop placing blame everywhere else, you are to blame. You should have called TKVR and told us not to charge the old card. This is your fault”. Which card is now default? I’ll never know!! There are additional items I can also substantiate!!

We are owners of a Turnkey rental home

We are owners of a Turnkey rental home, and also 2 Marriot timeshares, and were thrilled that the Marriot/Bonvoy chain was brought into Turnkey. Overall, I feel that Turnkey does an amazing job caring for their properties, owners, and most of all customers! Because of the rental income that I receive and caring oversight given to our home, I want to leave our renters with the highest quality linens, furniture, and experience. I believe from our ratings that we deliver! I would also have no problem trading and renting another Turnkey home elsewhere!

The 2 cabin that I rented near Gatlinburg were adorable. The bedding and cleanliness were horrible. I booked it through the Marriott.com website that advertises quality linens. There were thin, synthetic sheets over a nasty, dirty egg crate toppers, and 1 thin dirty pillow/person. I asked for a mattress pad and decent sheets after the first night and was not able to get any. Also, the blankets/comforters/shams are not cleaned between people. So,,,that whole COVID clean thing is a lie.

A beautiful cabin for a nice getaway

The cabin was very nice, clean and spacious. We enjoyed the hot tub and the air conditioning was great. The location was excellent. Very quiet with woods right out the back. The pool at White Oaks resort was very nice, even for small children. The only negative regarding the resort was the fitness center consisted of a treadmill, stepper and a rack of dumbbells located on a balcony in the old lodge. However, the resort is expanding and I believe the fitness center will be located down at the pool once the renovations are done. The location was great if you want to be away from the busyness of Gatlinburg (10 minute drive). Also there are several great hiking trails as close as five minutes away.

This funky cute little beach house was perfect for our needs. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. The ONLY negative would be that the local people are very rude, could barely unpack our vehicles without getting barked at and criticized. We had a great time, very quiet and peaceful even during the holiday. Thank you
