No refunds, and credits expire!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the international borders were closed last year, forcing us to cancel our trip. TurnKey refused to refund us our money, and instead, applied a credit which we’ve been given a deadline to use it by. We are still not comfortable travelling yet, however the credit expiry deadline is fast approaching, and we have no choice but to risk our health and travel, or forfeit the large full credit amount. I wish we could have just received a refund. Buyer beware!

Incompetent bad customer service

Incompetent bad customer service, completely outdated and complicated reservation system. For me, a dubious agency that is not recommended. Lure with a great offer and then revoke it after two days.

The unit was dirty when we arrived and needed updates

The unit was dirty when we arrived. The dining table had dried up food still on it. The floors had sand all over them. The master bedroom had a sliding door. That door had no handle, so there was a big hole to outside and no way to lock. That was a big problem having a ground floor room. The refrigerator was rusted all on the front. We had to wash every kitchen item, because they didn’t look clean. Turnkey was contacted and had a maintenance person come to put a piece of wood on the door to keep it from opening, but they never fixed the hole to the outside. A door repair company was supposed to come out, but they never did. A cleaning crew did come out the next day, but we had already cleaned the floors and table so we'd feel comfortable staying in the unit.

Horrible experience with TurnKey

We booked a rental through TurnKey Vacation Rentals in Napa, CA. The pictures online photographed a “luxury” property with a beautiful outdoor lounging area, pool and jacuzzi. The location reported it was ideal for wineries as well. Driving to the property was a huge challenge, up winding roads that are unsafe especially for non-locals. This was not mentioned in the description. When we arrived at the property it was evident that the property had not been visited in quite some time- there were leaves and brush all over the outdoor area, the hot tub was visibly untreated, cob webs all over the frame of the home. The outdoor space was completely unusable. When we were finally able to get inside (code to door was not working, we had to call multiple times for entry), the home spelled of cigarette smoke. There were spiders and spider webs everywhere, bugs in corners, and hair EVERYWHERE… all over the bathroom floor, shower, and all over the beds. The house had clearly not been cleaned and was completely unacceptable. When we refused to stay and showed Turn Key photo evidence, they refused to refund us and said they would have a cleaning crew perform a “deep clean”. Why was this not done prior to our arrival? After much back and forth, TurnKey decided they would refund us about $1,500 of our $4,600. Do NOT book with this company. They do not accurately portray their properties online and then refuse to correct their errors. It is also impossible to communicate efficiently with supervisors. They should have done the right thing and refunded us completely. Instead we were left paying for this property AND a hotel in Napa.

Generally Turnkey did a good job

Generally Turnkey did a good job. We had some issues with the house we stayed at. The house we stayed at is in a state of disrepair. It has dirty carpets and furniture, plumbing problems, some electrical issues (potential code violation) and there was some mud in the driveway that was really slick I almost fell a couple of times while we were loading up to leave. Also, the cleaning service didn't do a very good job before we got there. The house was also hard to find because the street sign is missing off the main road.

Decent house, but a few flaws

The house was nice, in decent shape. It was in a convenient area, only about a 15 min drive from downtown Nashville. Some issues with the house: -the coffee maker did not work; leaked everywhere, every time -there were no cleaning supplies available in the house -the grill was very dirty and clearly had not been cleaned since prior tenants' use -the outdoor has firepit which we would have liked to use was broken (even tried different propane tanks) Overall, the house worked fine for us.

The representative who helped me, Emanuel Joseph, was courteous, knowledgeable and very professional. He helped make the reservation process easy. I would definitely use Turnkey Vacation Rental again and recommend it to my friends.

NEVER BOOK WITH TURNKEY

NEVER BOOK WITH TURNKEY, AND BUYER BEWARE!!! When we had to change plans due to illness, I asked TurnKey if we could re-schedule on a different date. They told me I could only re-schedule in the same month, and the only dates available then were 3 weekdays instead of a weekend. I repeatedly said that I don’t want a refund, I just want a reasonable date to reschedule our weekend. But they would only quote their policy and refused to budge. So yes, we did not book with trip insurance, and I will never make that mistake again, but they were completely unreasonable with their policy, and it would not have affected them in any way to allow me to re-book on another date. But they are heartless, soulless robots who hide behind their rules, and they will treat you just the same if you ever have a situation to dispute. There are plenty of other rental websites & agencies to choose from, who truly value their customers, so please take my advice and book your next vacation with any other company.

I prefer to rent vacation homes form TurnKey Vacation Rentals. The homes are always very nice, well maintained, and clean. I know if there is any issue TurnKey will do their best to make it right.

This home was exceptional

This home was exceptional, very spacious! It is equipped with everything you need for your vacation or getaway. We booked another trip immediately after this stay. This isn’t a complaint just a suggestion: upon receiving 2 keyless entry codes to the property, specify what the codes are for. We didn’t discover the 4th bedroom until the last night of our vacation.

Semi-automated booking, fees, notes, and home issues

TurnKey's registration process left me unsure if I had booked a place to stay because of the semi-automated process. After receiving the confirmation email, I was prompted to finalize the booking. Clicking through to the landing page didn't work, leaving me with a need to call support to confirm and finalize the booking. The rep was able to sort out the issue relatively quickly after figuring out what caused the online booking to not work properly. Hopefully this issue that took place in June has since been resolved. The location and space was wonderful, albeit not what I would expect for the fee paid. Walking in the front door, the first thing I saw was a stained drape. The rod that supported this drape also fell on my girlfriend when she pushed the curtain to the side. Before leaving, I tightened the screw, so this shouldn't affect anyone in the future. The grill didn't work, two burners wouldn't turn on and the high setting was 'low', and a door was very difficult to close, it needed to be lifted up from outside to be able to close. Regarding the fees, I understand that there is a need to be more diligent during an ongoing pandemic and appreciate this effort, and taxes are determined by localities. The fees for this booking totaled just under 40% of the total cost. Considering that, notes, that felt passive aggressive, were posted throughout the space telling us how to use the space and the amenities. If there are expectations for guests, consider centralizing those items and including that list on the tablet in the space and in pre-arrival emails. I have also found that I am unable to get the full billing details of the booking through TurnKey's Guest Portal, and they did not send an email with those details, leaving me unable to reflect on or speak to the specific cost of the rental. Based on this experience, I don't foresee myself using a TurnKey rental in the future - despite the amazing location and relaxing experience the space offered.

Difficult and don't bother.

I found the booking process to be extremely difficult and wouldn't recommend it to anybody else booking a vacation. It took multiple tries getting verified because they did not give very good directions and were not very helpful as far as customer service. It was nice they sent a reminder email before charging my account for the final payment, but I still will be booking elsewhere next time.

DON'T BOOK HERE

DON'T BOOK HERE: If you have any changes at all they will not let you and keep your deposit quoting the fine print. My Daughter put 50% down for a bachelorette get away and 7 weeks before the reservation several of her friends backed out because of COVID, scheduling conflicts etc... She needs to downgrade the rental, NOT CANCEL, and they said too bad and are keeping her deposit. TERRIBLE PEOPLE...

BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE - PLEASE do yourself a favor and DO NOT rent from this company. We reserved a house one year in advance for a 25th wedding anniversary to spend with our family. This company cancelled 12 days in advance. With airfare already booked, a non-refundable deposit made to a photographer and restaurant reservations made, we lost a LOT of money. Unfortunately I did not heed other reviews that stated that this company will cancel your reservation if they can rent at a higher price. This is what I believe happened to us. Stay far away from this company. You'll get ripped off.

Beautiful view

Condo had beautiful views of the beach. Perfect for watching the sunrise. The listing is just as you see it online. The only draw back is the amount of bath towels. Not enough for multiple people staying.
