Unacceptable Billing Errors by Tomato Energy

I am deeply frustrated with Tomato Energy's billing accuracy. My July 2025 bill for the period of 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2025 was calculated using an estimated meter reading, despite my submission of actual meter readings on 29 June 2025 and 30 June 2025. This resulted in a discrepancy of 158 kWh. For context, my usage last month was less than 100 kWh, making the estimate over 1.5 times my typical consumption.This inaccurate estimate has led to a potentially inflated bill, which is completely unacceptable. I urge Tomato Energy to correct the bill using my submitted readings and overhaul their billing process to prevent such errors. This experience has completely eroded my trust in their service, and I highly NOT recommend Tomato Energy as a service provider. Once my contract term ends, I will switch to another provider and advise all my friends to avoid using Tomato Energy.

Heather called me to check on the switching experience. Was able to look at the data on the backend during the call and explain why is it not working. Good customer service on the switching journey and explained the next steps

I called their CS hotline and their representative VJ is very kind and helpful. The overall process to get a quote and sign up is smooth and quick. No long waiting time to get connected to someone. :)

No idea what they will do with my plan

Sold me a plan that has different rates at different times. Seller never asked about my smart meter ..which doesn't work so they now can't measure it, no bill after 53 days no direct debit collected customer services barely answer an email. Long phone queues..when I get through 3 different answers on how it will be resolved. I don't think they have any idea. Can't register on website Plan itself is cheaper if they ever get it working but wish I'd stayed with SO energy Everything I've wrote is factual happy to dispute it with any member of their team. I would advise anyone considering joining TOMATO to look at how many 1 star reviews they have in December alone Avoid Post note - look at their reply - "If I want to contact them" - says everything - why don't they contact me and give me a proposal?

NO Customer Service whatsoever

I moved to Tomato Energy - no problems. However then I found I couldn't submit meter readings. I have sent emails (no answer), sent emails direct from website (no answer) and tried calling but.... no answer. Correction to above - Customer Care did actually answer my phone call after 37 minutes (!) on hold. Once I spoke with them - I got answers (they have been overbilling me). Still rubbish service though

So far so good

Switched from Octopus just over a month ago and so far so good. Customer service have been really helpful every time I've spoken to them - answer the phone really quickly, and sorted out an issue with my account with no trouble. Very pleased with the tariff. I never received any paperwork when I switched to them which might have been good to have, but the first bill appears to be fine.
