Unacceptable Billing Errors by Tomato Energy

I am deeply frustrated with Tomato Energy's billing accuracy. My July 2025 bill for the period of 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2025 was calculated using an estimated meter reading, despite my submission of actual meter readings on 29 June 2025 and 30 June 2025. This resulted in a discrepancy of 158 kWh. For context, my usage last month was less than 100 kWh, making the estimate over 1.5 times my typical consumption.This inaccurate estimate has led to a potentially inflated bill, which is completely unacceptable. I urge Tomato Energy to correct the bill using my submitted readings and overhaul their billing process to prevent such errors. This experience has completely eroded my trust in their service, and I highly NOT recommend Tomato Energy as a service provider. Once my contract term ends, I will switch to another provider and advise all my friends to avoid using Tomato Energy.

Goodbye tomato,

I would make a formal complaint except there is no one to complain to because Tomato don't answer the phone or emails. No response on phone or emails over 2 weeks. Perhaps they have shut down. Unable to complete a switch due to lack of communication but now I feel I got off lightly as can't imagine trying to speak to someone in an emergency.

Rotton Tomaato

Useless company. Never answer the phone, never reply to emails, put you on the wrong tariff. I cancelled my DD. If they take me to court I will offer a robust defense with the un-replied to emails that I have sent over two months. Keep away for these merchants

Excellent customer service

Received a cold call from RJ at Tomato. I was initially sceptical but after listening to him found that the package being offered was highly competitively priced and I will be able to take advantage of lower prices during certain points of the day because I have a smart meter. RJ also gave me advice about not leaving things on standby and about buying SMART plugs. My account was set up there and then and all my contract info was sent over by email. Thank you x
